  • In modern management, leadership has become an essential strategy rather than a choice, and interest in coaching leadership is increasing. Additionally, companies face inevitable tasks such as sustainable management and ESG management, which are crucial aspects of corporate social responsibility. This is a global phenomenon, and social value management activities play a significant role in evaluating the worth of modern companies. ESG management is assessed as a decisive indicator for investors' decision-making based on various global guidelines. ESG is an important issue not only for large corporations but also for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The government is actively expanding infrastructure and providing support to enable SMEs to lead ESG management among domestic companies. However, research on the ESG management of SMEs is still insufficient, and existing ESG studies have primarily focused on financial indicators. Therefore, the necessity for empirical studies involving various variables is emphasized. This study analyzed the impact of coaching leadership on organizational innovation behavior and performance in SMEs, mediated by ESG management. According to the analysis, coaching leadership positively influences organizational innovation behavior and performance by promoting ESG management in SMEs. The findings indicate that coaching leadership has a positive impact on organizational innovation behavior and performance, while persuasion and participation of internal members are essential for success. Moreover, this study provides practical and policy implications, offering specific strategies for SMEs to effectively implement ESG management and ensure sustainability, thereby supporting long-term growth.

  • This paper makes the case that a new policy strategy to enhance a global green recovery is needed urgently. The new strategy requires two essential elements. First, G20 economies should follow the lead of South Korea and China and turn their green stimulus investments into a serious long-term commitment, and to support these investments, they should adopt environmental pricing policies and instigate pricing and regulatory reforms to reduce carbon dependency. Second, the G20 also needs to target and coordinate assistance to developing economies in science, technology and innovation (STI) for clean energy. Such assistance is essential to help developing economies to overcome the skills, technological and capital gap that they face in clean energy technologies over the long term. Reform of the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) is also necessary to establish a long-term global price signal for carbon, and to increase the coverage of developing economies, the sectors and technologies and the overall financing of clean energy projects. Formulating such a policy strategy should appeal to both the Asian-Pacific and Western economies comprising the G20, and by working together to formulate such a strategy, the G20 could lead the way toward a new era of global economic management and STI cooperation in clean energy.

  • This study describes the accounting approach of separating the value chain components that occur between the origin and destination of a country's total exports, and applied this analysis to the nation's information and communication industry. As a result of this study, the analysis results of ICT's global value chain for the United States and China, focusing on Korea, are as follows: First of all, the value added standard was relatively lower than the export amount standard for the information and communication industry. In particular, the gap was starkly visible in the information and communication manufacturing sector, where global vertical specialization was developed relatively. As a representative sector, the computer-related equipment sector exported to China became more specialized vertically than other information and communication industries. Next, the method of participating in vertical specialization of Korea's information and communication sector and its relative position in the global value chain came from domestic products (0.25/35.16) whose total exports, which were double calculated in the case of the U.S. market, returned home. On the other hand, about 32.68 percent returned to the Chinese market. Finally, in the global value chain level, the SW sector occupied a medium vertical culture location for the information and communication equipment sector and the information and communication service sector.

  • The import content of exports (ICE) is defined as the amount of foreign input embodied in one unit of export, and it has been used as a measure of the degree of integration into the global production network. In this paper, we suggest an alternative measure based on the decomposition of gross output and imports into the contributions of final demand terms. This measure considers the manner in which a country manages its domestic production base (gross output) and utilizes the foreign sector (imports) simultaneously and can thus be regarded as a more comprehensive measure than ICE. Korea's input-output tables in 1970-2018 are used in this paper. These tables were rearranged according to the same 26-industry classification so that these measures can be computed with time-series continuity and so that the results can be interpreted clearly. The results obtained in this paper are based on extended time-series data and are expected to be reliable and robust. The suggested indicators were applied to these tables, and, based on the results we conclude that the overall importance of the global economy in Korea's economic strategy has risen and that the degree of Korea's integration into the global production network increased over the entire period. This paper also shows that ICE incorrectly measures the movement of the degree of integration into the global production network in some periods.

  • Purpose - An empirical analysis of various opinions of experts to build Busan's global city image. Based on this, we provide strategy establishment metrics using opportunities, strengths, and threats to build Busan's global city image. Research design, data and methodology - SWOT-AHP analysis are used in terms of methodology, and this study is based on experts' reviews and answers. In addition, AHP analysis is performed based on SWOT analysis to derive the result values for important priority factors. Result - As a result of the prioritization of SWOT-AHP results, a matrix of strategic development directions for Busan city brand building can be presented. As a result of the composite weighting, the factors related to opportunity were ranked as important. In addition, matrices on SO strategy, ST strategy, WO strategy, and WT strategy were derived. Conclusion - This study is an interdisciplinary study from the economic aspect, international management and international marketing aspect, administrative aspect, and architectural engineering aspect. Through this, the image of a global city of Busan that can overcome COVID-19 and cope with the 4th industry in the future will be built, and Busan will be able to build a global international city image by commercially attracting the 2030 World Expo.

  • The objective of this article is to examine Korean consumers' perception level of the country-of-origin of brand (COB) of global restaurant franchises. Although global brands have rushed onto the Korean food service market since 1980, there has been little or no research conducted regarding consumers' perception of COB of global restaurant franchises. In this study, we surveyed consumers to determine their perception of COB for 27 foreign global restaurant brands; specifically, we attempted to determine whether or not Korean consumers could correctly recognize the COB of each brand. The results of this research revealed that Korean consumers correctly perceived the COB of certain restaurant brands, and incorrectly perceived some other brands. For instance, Korean consumers' perception level of the COB of McDonald's and KFC were quite high, and conversely their perceptions of the COB of Outback Steakhouse and Pohoa were relatively low. When consumers select a restaurant brand, COB image was shown to be more influential than brand image.

  • Integrated heterogeneous database systems provide the unified interface for users and applications today in order to access the underlying diverse data sources located in different sites. The multiple heterogeneous data sources have the different and specialized data structures and transaction processing capabilities. Because of local autonomy, the local system does not have the capability of cooperation to control the global transaction. Hence designing the global transaction manager with supporting the global serializability is difficult task. To resolve the well-known indirect conflict, we define the global transaction model by using the characteristics of global integrity constraints. And then we propose the site-locking operation and its protocol to manage the global transaction. The correctness and analysis of our site-locking protocol is proved and performance gain over the related other methods is also estimated in this paper.
