소다석회유리병의 조성과 점도의 상관관계 분석 (Analysis of the relationship between composition and viscosity of soda-lime glass bottles)

  • 유리병 제조 공장에서 생산한 유리 조성을 4년간 40 차례 분석하여 Lakatos 모델로 점도를 구하였다. log η가 3, 6.6, 10, 12.3 Pa·s 일 경우의 isokom 온도를 구하여 조성과 isokom 온도와의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 조성에서 함량에 편차가 가장 큰 것은 MgO로 변동계수가 0.890이었다. 그러나 MgO 함량 편차가 점도 변화에 주는 영향은 제한적 이었다. 반면 CaO는 연화점 이하에서 비가교산소를 감소시키는 작용에 의하여 isokom 온도를 낮추고 있었다.

결정화 소결에 의한 생체활성재료의 제조 (Preparation of bioactive materials by crystallization sintering)

  • CaO-$SiO_2-P_2O_5$ 3성분계 유리화 영역(glass forning region)내의 여러조성(A:$SiO_2$- rich조성, B:CaO-rich조성, C:$P_2O_5$-rich조성, D, E:A, B, C의 중간조성)을 가지는 유리분말을 결정화시켰을 때 유리중에 석출되는 결정상(crystal phase)을 분말 XRD로 확인하였다. 여러조성중 apatite(($Ca_{10}(PO_4)_6O$)와 $\beta$-wollastonite($CaSiO_3$)결정이 석출되고, 굽힘강도가 우수한 E조성(CaO 49.4, $SiO_2\;36.8,\;P_2O_5$8.8wt%)을 선택하여 이 조성의 유리분말을 일방향으로 결정화 소결하였다. 제조된 결정화 소결체에 대하여 charaterization을 하고 굽힘강도를 측정하였다. 또한 결정화 소결체와 생체뼈와의 결합성을 조사하기 위하여 유사체액(simulated body fluid)내에서 침적실험을 하였으며, 결정화 소결체의 표면을 thin-film XRD, FT-IR로 분석하였다. 실험결과, apatite와 wollastonite 결정이 석출된 치밀한 결정화 소결체가 얻어졌으며, 이들 결정은 wollastonite 결정의 (202)면이 인상방향에 수직으로 성장하는 경향을 보였다. 또한 제조된 결정화 소결체는 평균 186.9MPa의 굽힘강도를 나타내어 일반적 방법으로 제조되는 결정화 소결체보다 높은 역학적 성질을 보였다. 유사체액내의 침적실험결과, 시료표면위에 apatite 결정층이 3일후부터 형성되어 생체뼈와 화학결합을 이룰 가능성이 있음을 알았다.

Experimental investigating the properties of fiber reinforced concrete by combining different fibers

  • Adding fibers improves concrete performance in respect of strength and plasticity. There are numerous fibers for use in concrete that have different mechanical properties, and their combination in concrete changes its behavior. So, to investigate the behavior of the fiber reinforced concrete, an in vitro study was conducted on concrete with different fiber compositions including different ratios of steel, polypropylene and glass fibers with the volume of 1%. Two forms of fibers including single-stranded and aggregated fibers have been used for testing, and the specimens were tested for compressive strength and dividable tensile strength (splitting tensile) to determine the optimal ratio of the composition of fibers in the concrete reinforced by hybrid fibers. The results show that the concrete with a composition of steel fibers has a better performance than other compounds. In addition, by adding glass and propylene fibers to the composition of steel fibers, the strength of the samples is reduced. Also, if using the combination of fibers is required, the use of a combination of glass fibers with steel fibers will provide a better compressive strength and tensile strength than the combination of steel fibers with propylene.

실험계획법에 의한 GMP용 비구면 광학유리의 성질에 미치는 조성의 효과 연구 (Approach to Compositional Effect on Properties of Aspherical Optical Glass for GMP Process with Design of Experiments)

  • In this study, the composition of optical glass for GMP(glass molding process) was designed with 'Design of Experiments' method. All the composition batch was performed by 'Create Factorial Design' method. Particularly, $SiO_2$, BaO and $Al_2O_3$ were chosen major parameters for investigating the effects of components on optical and thermal properties. BaO and $Al_2O_3$ strongly influenced on optical and thermal properties, respectively. Finally, the approximate values of desired optical and thermal values were obtained by microtuning of compositions. At the composition of $BaO:Al_2O_3:SiO_2$=10:4:48 (molar ratio), refractive index($n_d$) was 1.5833, coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE) was $104{\times}10^{-7}/^{\circ}C$.

첨가제의 조성이 폐유리-점토 타일의 곡강도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Additive Composition on Flexural Strength of Cullet-Loess Tile Bodies)

  • Cullet-loess tile bodies are successfully fabricated using cullet, loess, hollow microspheres, and sintering additives (borosilicate glass frit, boric acid, or fumed silica) as starting materials. The effects of the additive composition and sintering temperature on the sintered density and flexural strength of the cullet-loess tile bodies are investigated. The sintered density of the cullet-loess tile bodies increases with an increase in the sintering temperature as a result of the enhanced densification of pore walls through the viscous flow of a liquid phase formed from the glass frit and sintering additives. The flexural strength of the cullet-loess tile bodies increases with increases in the sintering temperature and the cullet content in the starting composition. A maximal flexural strength of 40 MPa is obtained in cullet-loess tile bodies sintered with glass frit at $800^{\circ}C$ in air.

Lead-Borosilicate Glass계 LTCC용 유전체에 대한 고찰 (Investigation on Lead-Borosilicate Glass Based Dielectrics for LTCC)

  • The effects of lead-borosilicate glass frits on the sintering behavior and microwave dielectric properties of ceramic-glass composites were investigated as functions of glass composition of glass addition ($10{\sim}50vol%$), softening point (Ts) of the glass, and sintering temperature of the composites ($500{\sim}900^{\circ}C$ for 2 h). The addition of 50 vol% glass ensured successful sintering below $900^{\circ}C$. Sintering characteristics of the composites were well described in terms of Ts. PbO addition in to the glass enhanced the reaction with $Al_{2}O_3$ to form liquid phase and $PbAl_{2}Si_{2}O_8$, which was responsible to lower Ts. Dielectric constant(${\epsilon}_r$), $Q{\times}f_0$ and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (${\tau}_f$) of the composite with 50 vol% glass contents ($B_{2}O_{3}:PbO:SiO_{2}:CaO:Al_{2}O_3$ = 5:40:45:5:5) demonstrated 8.5, 6,000 GHz, $-70\;ppm/^{\circ}C$, respectively, which is applicable to substrate requiring a low dielectric constant. When the same glass composition was applied sinter $MgTiO_3\;and\;TiO_2,\;at\;900^{\circ}C$ (50 vol% glass in total), the properties were 23.8, 4,000 GHz, $-65ppm/^{\circ}C$ and 31.1, 2,500 GHz, $+80ppm/^{\circ}C$ respectively, which is applicable to filter requiring an intermidiate dielectric constant.

수계공정에 의한 알루미나 테이프로 제조한 세라믹 인공치관용 알루미나 유리 복합체의 기계적 물성 (Mechanical Properties of Alumina-Glass Dental Composites Prepared from Aqueous-Based Tape Casting)

  • Alumina-glass composites which are considered as the material of the choice for all dental crown was prepared by aqeous-based tape casting and sintering for 2h at 1120$^{\circ}C$ followed by glass infiltration for 2h at 1100$^{\circ}C$ Biaxial strength and fracture toughness of the composites were evaluated to determine the optimum composition of the tape as a function of the amount of constituent such as alumina binder and plasticizer. The strength and the fracture toughness of the alumina tape increased with increasing the contents of alumina and binder. These observations are consistent with in fluence of the constituents on mean alumuna particle distance in tapes suggesting that high strength of the glass infiltrated alumina composites is related to toughening by crack bowing. The biaxial strength and the fracture toughness of the composite containing the optimum constituent composition were 523 MPa and 3.3 MPa$.$1/2 respectively.

브래킷 유리애자의 접합재로 이용되는 알루미나 시멘트의 특성 (The characteristics of alumina cement utilized for binder of glass insulators in braket)

  • Damaged glass insulator that is utilized the high-speed railroad in domestic try to find the cause. This paper is investigated on the characteristics of alumina cement as the binder of class insulator. The components of glass insulator ore stub(tin), rod(tin), shed(tempered glass), and alumina cement. If composition of alumina cement is not unified, crack of alumina cement generated. As these results, cracked marks of cement is appeared and composition of alumina cement is not unified. Therefore, it is estimated that main element of long-term degradation is a alumina cement.

Sintering and Microstructure of Alumina/Mica and Spinel/Mica Composites

  • Alumina/mica and spinel/mica composites were fabricated by sintering of compacts containing 20 mass% fluoromica ($KMg_3AlSi_3O-{10}F_2$) glass and alumina or spinel. In both composites, mica precipitated as plate-like crystals at temperatures lower than $1300^{\circ}C$ and melted at $1300^{\circ}C$ to $1400^{\circ}C$. In alumina/mica composites, alumina and glass reacted to produce spinel, and the densification progressed by the solution-precipitation of alumina. Consequently, the glass composition changed and the mica did not precipitate at temperatures higher than $1400^{\circ}C$. However, mica precipitated after a reheating process. In spinel/mica composites, the glass composition did not change. After the mica phase melted, it recrystallized during slow cooling. The relative density reached the maximum at $1500^{\circ}C$ for alumina/mica and at $1300^{\circ}C$ spinel/mica composites, and decreased at further high temperatures.

경상북도 상주 성동리고분 출토 유리구슬의 고고화학적 연구 (Archaeological Chemistry of Classes Excavated at Songdong-ri tombs, Sangju, Korea)

  • 경상북도 상주 성동리 고분군에서 출토된 유리구슬에 대한 화학적 특성은 SEM-EDS 분석법을 이용하여 분석한 결과, 시대의 흐름에 따라 조성, 색상, 형태적 변화가 나타난다. 기원후 4세기인 삼국시대는 포타쉬유리와 소다유리로 나타나며 포타쉬유리는 $Al_2O_3$와 CaO가 모두 $5\%$이하인 청색 계통, 소다유리는 $Al_2O_3$$5\%$이상으로 청색 계통과 검은 줄이 있는 적색으로 나타난다. 기원후 17세기인 조선시대는 포타쉬유리과 알칼리혼합유리로 나타나며 포타쉬유리는 CaO(lime)가 $11.7\%$로 높은 투명한 황색이다. 이번 연구에서 처음으로 조사된 '코일유리' 라는 특이한 구슬 형태는 알칼리혼합유리로 $Na_2O$$K2_O$ 성분이 모두 $5\%$이상이며 $Na_2O$보다 $K_2O$의 성분이 높다. 또한 포타쉬유리와 소다유리와 비하여 CaO와 $Al_2O_3$의 함량이 높게 나타난다.
