The environments in current farming and fishing communities have been exacerbated by the shortage of personnel caused by aging, the deficiency of equipment, and the decrease in produce prices. To help solve these issues, this study examined the history, such as inspections, failures, and repairs, by constructing a database for underground water wells, pumping stations, and irrigation, which are critical for management among agriculture production infrastructures. In particular, in the case of underground water wells, their optimal locations were determined using spatial information, such as a geological map of water resources, a water vein map, and underwater depth, because indiscreet installations and an absence of spatial information resulted in economic losses and environmental pollution. Therefore, this study could efficiently manage many facilities scattered in rural areas by developing a system. An analysis of the status of 14 underground water wells using spatial information showed that the location information at six points was specified incorrectly. On the other hand, a site investigation showed that the water vein map analysis at one point was inaccurate.
In this study, it was conducted a broad-area landslide analysis for the entire area of Kyungsangbuk-do Province based on spatially-distributed wetness index and root reinforcement infinity slope stability theory. Specifically, digital map, soil map and forest map were used to extract topological and geological parameters, and to build spatially-distributed database at $10m{\times}10m$ resolution. Infinity flow direction method was used for rain catchment area to produce spatially-distributed wetness index. The safety level that indicates risk of a broad-area landslide was classified into four groups. The result showed that areas with a high estimated risk of a landslide coincided with areas that recently went through an actual landslide, including Bonghwa and Gimcheon, and unstable areas were clustered around mountainous areas. A comparison between the estimation result and the records of actual landslide showed that the analysis model is effective for estimating a risk of a broad-area landslide based on accumulation of reasonable parameters.

Landslides cause enormous economic losses and casualties. Korea has mountainous regions and heavy slopes in most parts of the land and has consistently built new roads and large-scale housing complexes according to its industrial and urban growth. As a result, the damage from landslides becomes greater every year. In this study, performed a GIS-based landslide hazard analysis by SINMAP(Stability Index MAPping) model in Gyeonggi Icheon area coupling with geomorphological and geological data. SINMAP model has its theoretical basis in the infinite plane slope stability model with wetness obtained from a topographically based steady state model of hydrology. To Gyeonggi Icheon area landslides hazards evaluated, these SINMAP model were analysed results while simultaneously referring to the stability index map, where lines distinguish the zones categorized into the different stability classes and a table giving summary statistics.
It is require to construct geothermal database to develop geothermal energy as renewable energy policy. It must be consist of geologic data, borehole data and geophysical data for geothermal database. In aspect of geology, there are included the distribution of geology, structural geology, geological time, rock name, density of rock, porosity, thermal diffusivity, specific capacity and thermal conductivity In order to calculate the heat general ion, it is needed to analysis the radioactivity elements as U, Th and K of rock. In aspect of borehole data, there are included temperature of depth, surface temperature and geothermal gradient And also there is geotherrnornetry using chemical components of groundwater as Na Ca, K and $SiO_2$. In aspect of geophysical data, there are some thematic map as booger gravity anomaly data and magnetic survey data and etc. In addition, it is important to descript the distribution of hot spring and water temperature.

Landslides are major natural geological hazards that result in a large amount of property damage each year, with both direct and indirect costs. Many researchers have produced landslide susceptibility maps using various techniques over the last few decades. This paper presents the landslide susceptibility results from the geographically weighted regression model using remote sensing and geographic information system data for landslide susceptibility in the Inje area of South Korea. Landslide locations were identified from aerial photographs. The eleven landslide-related factors were calculated and extracted from the spatial database and used to analyze landslide susceptibility. Compared with the global logistic regression model, the Akaike Information Criteria was improved by 109.12, the adjusted R-squared was improved from 0.165 to 0.304, and the Moran’s I index of this analysis was improved from 0.4258 to 0.0553. The comparisons of susceptibility obtained from the models show that geographically weighted regression has higher predictive performance.

Recently, there are increasing need to make a synthetic assessment about oceanic data which is collected over the various scientific field, in addition to just gathering oceanic data. In this study, we made a basic map using satellite image, aerial photo, multi-beam data, geological stratum data etc. And as well we are producing comprehensive SVT(Scientific Visualization Toolkit) which can visualize various kinds of oceanic data. These oceanic data include both survey data such as tidal height, tide, current, wave, water temperature, salinity, oceanic weather data and numeric modelling results such as ocean hydrodynamic model, wave model, erosion/sediment model, thermal discharged coastal water model, ocean water quality model. In this process, we introduce GIS(Geographic Information System) concepts to reflect time and spatial characteristics of oceanic data.
The purpose of this study is to develop landslide susceptibility analysis techniques using artificial neural network and apply the newly developed techniques for assessment of landslide susceptibility to study areas, Yongin. Landslide locations detected from interpretation of aerial photo and field survey, and topographic, soil and geological maps of the Yongin area were collected. The data of the locations of land-slide, slope, soil texture, topography and lithology were constructed into spatial database using GIS. Using the factors, landslide susceptibility was analyzed by artificial neural network methods. The results of the analysis were verified using the landslide location data. The validation results showed satisfactory agreement between the susceptibility map and landslide location data.

This paper presents a methodology to account for the partial or gradual changes of environmental phenomena in categorical map information for the fusion/integration of multiple spatial data. The fuzzy set based spatial data fusion scheme is applied in order to account for the fuzziness of boundaries in categorical information showing the partial or gradual environmental impacts. The fuzziness or uncertainty of boundary is represented as two kinds of fuzzy membership functions based on fuzzy object concept and the effects of them are quantitatively evaluated with the help of a cross validation procedure. A case study for landslide hazard assessment demonstrates the better performance of this scheme as compared to traditional crisp boundary representation.

Helicopter-borne aeromagnetic surveys at two different times separated by three years were conducted to better understand the shallow subsurface structure of the Vulcano and Lipari volcanic complex, Aeolian Islands, southern Italy, and also to monitor the volcanic activity of the area. As there was no meaningful difference between the two magnetic datasets to imply an apparent change of the volcanic activity, the datasets were merged to produce an aeromagnetic map with wider coverage than was given by a single dataset. Apparent magnetisation intensity mapping was applied to terrain-corrected magnetic anomalies, and showed local magnetisation highs in and around Fossa Cone, suggesting heterogeneity of the cone. Magnetic modelling was conducted for three of those magnetisation highs. Each model implied the presence of concealed volcanic products overlain by pyroclastic rocks from the Fossa crater. The model for the Fossa crater area suggests a buried trachytic lava flow on the southern edge of the present crater. The magnetic model at Forgia Vecchia suggests that phreatic cones can be interpreted as resulting from a concealed eruptive centre, with thick latitic lavas that fill up Fossa Caldera. However, the distribution of lavas seems to be limited to a smaller area than was expected from drilling results. This can be explained partly by alteration of the lavas by intense hydrothermal activity, as seen at geothermal areas close to Porto Levante. The magnetic model at the north-eastern Fossa Cone implies that thick lavas accumulated as another eruption centre in the early stage of the activity of Fossa. Recent geoelectric surveys showed high-resistivity zones in the areas of the last two magnetic models.

Andong and Imha reservoir adjoins each other, but turbid water shows too much different when it rains. The characteristics of geological rock in basin and agricultural area around river boundary are pointed out as the major reason of turbid water of Imha reservoir. This study analyzed rock type of topsoil layer using soil map by National Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology (NIAST). Among rock types, sedimentary rock affects on the occurrence of turbid water. In the analysis of sedimentary rock type, the distribution of sedimentary rock of Imha basin shows 1.87 times higher than that of Andong basin. Also, the distribution of sedimentary rock of Imha basin shows higher than that of Andong basin within 1,600m from river channel in according to the buffer zone of river boundary. And Agricultural area of Imha basin shows higher than that of Andong basin in analysis of land cover within 1,600 m from river channel. As this agricultural characteristics of Imha basin, cover management factor of Imha basin represents more higher that that of Andong basin.
