It adopts the idea of human's geographical nature to solve the dualism which geography is referred as science and art. An object geographer studies is homogeneous, temporal as well as identifical and individual. To adopt human's geographical nature causes to human's geographical investigation, and uniting positivism to humanism. It deduces from the Bible and Evolutionism that it is characteristic of mobility, adaptabilty, connectivity, ideality, and hybridity. Geographical concepts is based on the fact that it can be applied to geographical research theme. Popularization of geography has to relate to being cultural, and specialization of geography has to relate to geography management.

  • Main debates in the modern geographical thoughts had been developed around the regional geography. Because regional geography had been regarded as a raison d'etre of geography, it remains solid status in geography curriculum. But unscientific nature of regional geography was the main problem of modern geography. Modern geography has developed the logical legitimation of regional geography, instead of research procedures. We examine the logic of modern geographical thoughts from 3 worldview. Here we represented the part - the whole relationship as the primary category, and classify these into three type according to the implicit proposition about the relationship. One is the organic view, which assume that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. This view was the primary proposition held by the modem geographers. This view regarded the region as organic complex, and presume the unit region which is irreducible to the elements. The other is mechanic view, which presuppose that the whole is the sum of the parts. This view comprehend region by means of spatial order, in order to simplify the complex reality. Then we compare real condition with assumption. These two view held static assumption. Now, the third view regarded the part- the whole relationship as being dynamic. Most geographers held the organic view, although someone suggests the idea of harmony, the others suggests the idea of complex. But these view presumes the pre-industrial society in which the genre de vie was main principle of social order. Therefore It could not comprehend the regional concept in the context of the urbanization and industrialization.

  • Place matters to knowledge creation according to the recent literature on economic geography and its related disciplines. This basic insight is not incorrect. But there is some vagueness in the discussions on this theme and there seems to appear a variety of geo-determinism on the competitiveness of SMEs in manufacturing industries. This paper reexamines that thinking on the basis of the realities of innovative manufacturing SMEs in a periphery of Japan, south of Kyushu Island. As a result, it is possible to classify face-to-face contacts into two kinds of communication. One is the communication, through which a supplier of a way of solution (knowledge) can grasp problems (information) of its customer in detail. The other is the communication, through which one can get some new idea. Information can spread world wide, but not always quickly and ubiquitously, because it often contains tacitness and secret, even if a large part of the information are coded in some form. Details of the information can be communicated only with the help of five senses. And it is necessary for the information receiver to listen to the sender carefully with the help of the other senses. In this meaning, tacitness does matter. Knowledge, namely ability to understand and power to bring some idea in practice, is always connected with some place, either at workshop of supplier or of customer in the case of manufacturing industries. However, not places but human beings possess the knowledge, and human beings can be mobile. Therefore, it is not restricted to a place.

  • palestein had been a part of Islamic culture before Israel was established after World War II and their daily lives had been totally affected by the Korean, Consequently, the idea of clothing, types of women clothes and it's characteristics reflected in the Koran have been studied and the results are as follows: First, the idea of clothing reflected in the Koran emphasizes the equality of the sexed and treats women as men's equal partner. Second, in the Koran there is almost no reference on men's clothes, but it only recommends women to wear veil to cover their faces and bodies when they go out. The Koran argues that it is not to restrict women but to protect them. Third, due to it's geographical location, Palestinian clothes had been affected by it's neighboring areas, and the gumbaz-a kind of coat - is one of the examples of Turkish origin. In the beginning the gumbaz had been worn by upper class Palestinian women and subsquently by urban Nazareth women. They used to slip on gumbaz on their heads and shoulders. Fourth, In Palestein they wore jacket over coat or dress. The emboridered jacket from Bethlehem was mostly worn their wedding dress. Fifth, the headdress and face-veil in Palestein are the most unique ones and married women decorated headdress and face-veil with gold or silver coins which they received as wedding presents, and wrapped all their coin decorations in black cloth when husbands are dead. Bedouins decorated not only with coins but also with shells, buttons, stones and beads to articulate their chastity, social status, aestheticism, religion and magic.

  • The policy of industrial complexes (innovative clusters) is being changed to build the linkage structure within Mega Economic Region according to the national policy of Mega Economic Region. The aim of this analysis is to draw the hypothetical linkage structure of industrial complexes in the internal and external Capital Region. First, with the survey data of firms located in the industrial complexes, we can catch the regional linkages of firms in the local area and internal and external Mega Economic Region. Next, the measure of structural similarity between industrial complexes is calculated with the number of employees by industrial sectors. After considering the geographical distance between industrial complexes, the percentage of industrial sectors and the location quotient synthetically, the idea of hub-and-spoke type linkage structure between clusters is deduced.

  • A representative British designer, Vivienne Westwood's work. world from radical punk style to aristocratic historical dress is explored in context in terms of Englishness. National identity opens up into the process of mobilization of collective sentiment in the national context, unlike nationalism, and Englishness signifies the idea or emotion of England in contrast with Britishness, the political constructor influenced by geographical aspects. There is no doubt that Vivienne Westwood is central to ideas about creativity and originality in English design on subculture. However, in evaluating a designer and her work we should consider the entire context surrounding her from a broader view, rather than arguing only her own ingenuity. In this article, through reconsidering her originality in the historical reference as well as the resistant punk style in aspect of fluid national identity, I show a case of a constituted Englishness, forged by Vivienne Westwood as a cultural creator of national identity. Vivienne Westwood's case hints the complexities of national culture, which constantly shifts, translating her understandings of history and culture into fashion in her contemporary insight and glamorous ways.

  • Isozyme comparisons of mycelial extracts from Pleurotus ostreatus were undertaken using isoelectric focusing. Enzyme isozyme patterns were Used to describe the extent of geographical diversity and degree of intraspecific variation in these extracts. A total of 77 bands were resolved from six different enzymes. Cluster analyses were performed using the zymograms for esterase (EST), glucose phosphate isomerase (GPI), leucine aminopeptidase (LAP), malate dehydrogenase(MDH), peroxidase (POX), and phosphoglucomutase (pGM). EST gave multiple banding patterns, while less variability was observed for GPI, MDH, and PGM. Cluster analyses demonstrated that strains of P. ostreatus from geographically different origins are genetically divergent, supporting the idea that there is little or no gene flow between these geographically distant population groups.

  • This paper aims to evaluate the new regional development policy which is entirely focused on the lagging rural regions in Korea. The new regional development, called the shin-hwal-ryuk policy is to reflect the radical change in the idea and philosophy of rural development. Although traditional rural development policies were top-down-based and physical infrastructure-centered, the new rural development policy idea is based on bottom-up and soft infrastructure which is related to the promotion of regional innovation capacities. However, it is revealed that the new rural policy involves a variety of problems in the process of establishing and making progress the policy plan in a local level. In the operating process of the policy plan, the central government has shown too quick-tempered for achieving visible outcomes, while many of local government suffer from the lacks of professional capabilities to carry out the plan. I see that as a result of the mixture of these problems the new policy is regarded as 'passively localized process' by the central government rather than 'actively localizing process' by the region for building regional innovation capacity.
