  • In this study, an optical-fiber sensor was used to measure loads that could act in an environment similar to the loading conditions that exist in an actual pipe. The structure and the installation method of the optical-fiber strain sensor were applied considering the actual large pipe and the buried pipe environment. Load tests were performed using a displacement sensor and sandbags to determine the deflection of the pipe according to the external load, and the linear measurement results were verified. Considering the conditions that could exist in the actual pipe, the test method was presented, and the strain of the buried pipe generated at this time was measured.

  • To protect a satellite and electronic equipment from the acoustic load generated by rocket propulsion system, many launch vehicle use acoustic blanket. Acoustic load is main source of random vibration working on the payload. Most high frequency region of the acoustic loads is reduced by payload fairing skins and acoustic blanket, but low frequency region is not. In order to reduce acoustic load of low frequency region, we designed array resonator panel which was made of composite materials. Insertion loss capacity of the payload fairing with acoustic blanket was verified from PLF acoustic test in the acoustic chamber.

  • High frequency system has been used for the purpose of skin care and obesity treatment, by high-frequency energy is applied to the human body generates deep heat. Conventional high frequency system could not selection control by depending on the body load fluctuations. Such as burns and side effects have been reported by system instability and then therapeutic effect is insufficient. During treatment, objective information about the status of the patient was no. Because of treatment methods are subjective, and so tailored treatments were impossible. In this paper, high frequency medical system with sinusoidal frequency characteristics without distortion of the Push pull switching scheme for pain relief therapy was designed. And control circuit that was designed by feedback using the output changes according to the body-load fluctuation. Last, power circuit for efficient control the heat generated from the hardware was proposed.

  • This paper presents an operating characteristics of the 5-phase 5kW with developed the surface permanent magnetic synchronous generato (SPMSG) in order to make a study of a polyphase ac motors keeping hold of more advantages. There are shown a amplitude and waveform of the generated electromotive force, in FFT analysis of harmonics, within output voltages, and reviewing a experiment results in no-load test, resistive load, and inductive load using 5-phase induction motor by variable output frequency. The operating characteristics of the developed manufacturing generator include voltage regulation, efficiency, power factor, THD, and so on at rated load.

  • This paper investigates the load sharing of double circular arc helical gears considering the influence of assembly errors. Based on a load sharing formulae, a three-dimensional finite element tooth contact analysis (TCA) is implemented with commercial software package ANSYS. The finite element grid for the double circular arc gear contact model is automatically generated by using the APDL (ANSYS Parameter Design Language) embedded in ANSYS. The realistic rotation of gears is achieved by using a coupling degree-of-freedom method. Numerical simulations are carried out to exemplify the proposed approach. The distribution of contact stress and bending stress under specific loading conditions are computed and compared with those obtained from Hertz contact theory and empirical formulae to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed load sharing calculation formulae and TCA approach.

  • The problem of energy consumption is more serious in university buildings than primary, middle and high school buildings. Because university buildings have generally heating and cooling systems, and various incidental facilities. In university, the library is one of the building that many people use and the most energy is spent. So, investigation on energy saving is very important and urgent. This study aims finally to present the guideline for low-energy design of University library by aiding a designer to select best solution in the side of energy-saving. In this paper, composition of space, utilization schedule and performance of construction materials are grasped, some primary factors that effect to energy saving are analyzed by energy simulation. The result of this study is as follows; First, the subject library has more cooling load than heating load because of cooling load generated during middle season. Second, green roofs is the most effective to heating load saving, but not to cooling energy. Third, outdoor air cooling is the most effective to cooling energy saving among the investigated strategies included in this study.

  • This paper describes the problems generated with the use of PWM ASDs with induction motors. The major effect of harmonic voltages and currents in induction motors is increased the heating due to iron and copper losses at harmonic frequencies. The harmonic components thus affect the motor efficiency and developed the torque. In order to investigate the effect of harmonics which is caused by using of nonlinear load at the low voltage system, we set up simple load system and measured the voltage and current. Measurement results show that additional operation of induction motor at the parallel bus in using nonlinear load such as ASD is helpful to the reduction of harmonic current.

  • This paper presents a new method of tool path optimization. A NC verification model based Z-map was utilized to obtain chip load in feed per tooth. This developed software can regenerate a NC program from cutting condition and the NC program that was generated in CAM. The regenerated NC program has not only all same data of the ex-NC program but also the new feed rates in every block. The new NC data can reduce the cutting time and manufacture precision dies with the same chip load in feed per tooth. This method can also prevent tool chipping and make constant tool wear. This paper considered the effects of acceleration and deceleration in feed rate change.

  • Although the cone type venturi flow meter is superior to another differential pressure type flow meter in precision, the venturi is installed at the pipe as an L beam, so that the dynamic load due to drag force and flow-induced force is generated in the flow meter. In this paper we propose a methodology to evaluate this dynamic load directly by using stain-gages attached on the venturi and we discuss about the dynamic characteristics on the basis of flow-induced vibration theory.

  • A novel active input unbalance voltage compensator with harmonic current compensating capability is proposed and the operating principle of the proposed system is presented in the 3-phase power system. The proposed system performs both the voltage regulation of the load and the compensation of the harmonic currents generated due to nonlinear load such as diode rectifier. The system to compensate unbalanced voltage and hramonic currents is composed of a 3-phase voltage source inverter, LC filter, series transformer and passive devices at the load side of the line. The compensating voltage to regulate the load voltage and to remove the harmonic current components is transmitted to the line by the series transformer. The validity of the line by the series transformer. The validity of the proposed system is proved by the results of computer simulation.
