  • The paper proposes to characterize the free vibration behaviour of non-uniform cylindrical shells using spline approximation under first order shear deformation theory. The system of coupled differential equations in terms of displacement and rotational functions are obtained. These functions are approximated by cubic splines. A generalized eigenvalue problem is obtained and solved numerically for an eigenfrequency parameter and an associated eigenvector which are spline coefficients. Four and two layered cylindrical shells consisting of two different lamination materials and plies comprising of same as well as different materials under two different boundary conditions are analyzed. The effect of length parameter, circumferential node number, material properties, ply orientation, number of lay ups, and coefficients of thickness variations on the frequency parameter is investigated.

  • Thermophoretic particle deposition on a circular cylinder in a uniform laminar air flow was numerically investigated using a control volume method based on the generalized non-orthogonal coordinate system. Variation of air properties due to the change of temperature was taken into account. Effects of variable property on the distribution of heat transfer and deposition rates of particle were discussed. A new correlation of thermophoretic particle deposition on a circular cylinder was proposed in the present study.

  • In this paper, we propose improved loop splitting method for maximizing parallelism of single loops with non-constant dependence distances. By using the iteration and distance for the source of the first dependence, and by our defined theorems, we present generalized and optimal algorithms for single loops with non-uniform dependences (MPSL). By the extension of the MPSL method, we also apply to exploit parallelism from nested loops with simple subscripts, based on cycle shrinking and loop interchanging method. The algorithms generalize how to transform general single loops with non-uniform dependences as well as nested loops with simple subscripts into parallel loops.

  • A Chebyshev spectral method (CSM) for the dynamic analysis of non-uniform Timoshenko beams under various boundary conditions and concentrated masses at their ends is proposed. The matrix-based Chebyshev spectral approach was used to construct the spectral differentiation matrix of the governing differential operator and its boundary conditions. A matrix condensation approach is crucially presented to impose boundary conditions involving the homogeneous Cauchy conditions and boundary conditions containing eigenvalues. By taking advantage of the standard powerful algorithms for solving matrix eigenvalue and generalized eigenvalue problems that are embodied in the MATLAB commands, chebfun and eigs, the modal parameters of non-uniform Timoshenko beams under various boundary conditions can be obtained from the eigensolutions of the corresponding linear differential operators. Some numerical examples are presented to compare the results herein with those obtained elsewhere, and to illustrate the accuracy and effectiveness of this method.

  • Since most program execution time is spent in the loop structure, extracting parallelism from sequential loop programs hale been focused. But, most programs hare implicit parallelism of interprocedure. This paper presents a generalized Parallelism extraction in loop\ulcorner with procedure calls. Most parallelization of loops with Procedure calls just focus on the uniform code which data dependency distance is constant. We presents algorithms which can be applied with uniform code, nonuniform code, and complex code. The proposed algorithm, loop extraction, loop embedding and procedure cloning transformation methods evaluate using CRAY-T3E. The result of performance evaluation is that proposed algorithm is an effect.

  • Since roost of the program execution time is spent in the loop structure, the problem of extracting parallelism from sequential loop has been one of the most important research issues. However. roost programs have Implicit interprocedure parallelism. This paper presents a generalized method extracting parallelism in loops having the procedure calls. Most parallelization of loops having procedure calls focus on the uniform code where data dependency distance is constant. We present algorithms which can be applied to uniform code, nonuniform code, and complex code. The performance of the proposed algorithm, loop extraction, loop embedding and procedure cloning transformation methods have been evaluated using CRAY-T3E. The result shows the effective of the proposed algorithm.

  • The present research deals with the time-harmonic deformation in transversely isotropic magneto thermoelastic solid with two temperature (2T), rotation due to inclined load and laser pulse. Generalized theory of thermoelasticity has been formulated for this mathematical model. The entire thermo-elastic medium is rotating with uniform angular velocity and subjected to thermally insulated and isothermal boundaries. The inclined load is supposed to be a linear combination of a normal load and a tangential load. The Fourier transform techniques have been used to find the solution to the problem. The displacement components, stress components, and conductive temperature distribution with the horizontal distance are computed in the transformed domain and further calculated in the physical domain using numerical inversion techniques. The effect of angle of inclination of normal and tangential load for Green Lindsay Model and time-harmonic source for Lord Shulman model is depicted graphically on the resulting quantities.

  • The static behavior of continuous system is described by the elastic curve method or is approximately analyzed by a finite element method to be modeled as a discrete system. If a continuous system is constrained by linear constraints which restrict its static behavior, its behavior can be approximately described by the finite element method. It is not easy to describe the constrained behavior by continuous coordinate system. Starting from the generalized inverse method provided by Eun, Lee and Chung, this study is to expand the equation to the continuous systems, to perform the structural analysis of the beam under a uniform loading with interior spring supports, and to investigate the validity of the proposed method through applications.

  • The applicability of the algebraic collapsing acceleration (ACA) technique to the method of characteristics (MOC) in cases with scattering anisotropy and/or linear sources was investigated. Previously, the ACA was proven successful in cases with isotropic scattering and uniform (step) sources. A presentation is first made of the MOC implementation, available in the DRAGON5 code. Two categories of schemes are available for integrating the propagation equations: (1) the first category is based on exact integration and leads to the classical step characteristics (SC) and linear discontinuous characteristics (LDC) schemes and (2) the second category leads to diamond differencing schemes of various orders in space. The acceleration of these MOC schemes using a combination of the generalized minimal residual [GMRES(m)] method preconditioned with the ACA technique was focused on. Numerical results are provided for a two-dimensional (2D) eight-symmetry pressurized water reactor (PWR) assembly mockup in the context of the DRAGON5 code.

  • In this paper, a mathematical model is used to the evaluation of thermoelastic interactions in fiber-reinforced material with a spherical cavity. With the goal of establishing the generalized thermoelastic model with thermal relaxation time are exploited. inner surface of the spherical cavity is tractions free and loaded by the uniform step in temperature. The finite element scheme is used to get the problem numerical solutions. The numerical results have been discussed graphically to show the impacts of the presence and the absence of reinforcement.
