Currently, computational analysis is a popular technology in automobile engineering. Finite element analysis is an excellent method for body analysis. For finite element analysis, accurate modeling is very important to obtain precise information. Stick modeling is a convenient way in that it is easy and simple. When a stick model is utilized, the joints are modified in the tuning process. A tuning method for the joint has been developed. The joints are modeled by designated beam elements. An optimization method called "Goal Programming" is employed to impose the target values. With the tuned joints, the entire optimization has been carried out. Using the "Recursive Quadratic Programming" algorithm, the optimization process determines the configuration of the entire structure and sizes of all the sections. For example, the structure of an electrical vehicle is modeled and analyzed by the method. The stick model works well since the structure is made of aluminium frames. Although the example handles an electrical vehicle, this method can be applied to general vehicle structures.
The aim of this paper is to present theorems on the exitence of zeros for mappings defined on convex subsets of topological vector spaces with values in a vector space. In addition to natural assumptions of continuity, convexity, and compactness, the mappings are subject to some geometric conditions. In the first theorem, the mapping satisfies a "Darboux-type" property expressed in terms of an auxiliary numerical function. Typically, this functions is, in this case, related to an order structure on the target space. We derive an existence theorem for "obtuse" quasiconvex mappings with values in an ordered vector space. In the second theorem, we prove the existence of a "common zero" for an arbitrary (not necessarily countable) family of mappings satisfying a general "inwardness" condition againg expressed in terms of numerical functions (these numerical functions could be duality pairings (more generally, bilinear forms)). Our inwardness condition encompasses classical inwardness conditions of Leray-Schauder, Altman, or Bergman-Halpern types.
In this paper, we propose a simple and efficient retrieval technique using the feature value of the corner region, which is one of the shape information attributes of images. The proposed algorithm extracts the edges and corner points of the image and rearranges the feature values of the corner regions doubly, and then measures the similarity with the image in the database using the correlation of these feature values as the feature vector. The proposed algorithm is confirmed to be more robust to rotation and size change than the conventional image retrieval method using the corner point.
This paper studies that $\sigma$ values(10, 20, 50) and $\rho$ values(-0.6, -0.3, 0.0, 0.3, 0.6) affect the total inventory cost of a supply chain and order fill rate when the market demand process follows a general auto-correlated AR(1) process without seasonality. $\sigma$ indicates the degree of demand fluctuation and $\rho$ means the trend of demand. ANOVA tests using a 5% significance level are performed in SPSS to examine significant performance changes among various cases.
In investigating heavy metal contents at specific areas, the method of selecting sampling points is Important A general method is, according to the law , random sampling of zigzag-form in the selected field. In this work, we studied whether the measured values obtained from a certain method of selecting sampling points is a representative of heavy metal contents in the selected field or not. The selected field for this study is located on the lower Yangsan-river: Gasan-li, Mulgum-myon, Yangsan-gun, KyoungNam, 1 km away from the mi, h stream of Nakdong river. The heavy metals investigated were Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, and Zn. The inductively coupled plasma(ICPI atomic emission spectrometer was used to measure these metals quantitatively. The number of total sampling points were 24. We compared the total mean values with the mean obtained from various methods of selecting sampling points.
We have carried out high precision orbit calculation, by using various numerical techniques with accuracy of higher than fourth order, in order for exact prediction on position and velocity of celestial bodies and artificial satellites. General second order ordinary differential equation has been solved numerically to test the performance for each of numerical methods. We have compared computed values with exact solution obtained by using universal variables for two body problem and discussed overall results of numerical methods used in our calculation. As a result, it is found that high order difference table method called as Gauss-Jackson method is best one with easiness and efficiency in the increase of accuracy by number of initial values.
This paper proposes an enhanced transport protocol for multipeer communications. It is assumed that there exists a transport connection owner that takes the roles of the establishment, management and termination of a transport connection. The proposed protocol classifies the data transfer type into simplex, duplex and N-plex multicasts and provides several transport services to support various requirements in group communications. The general operations and reliability controls of each transfer type are different from one another and carried out by a shared control tree. The QoS negotiation is performed during the creation phase. The notification of negotiated values is followed by an acknowledgment procedure for confirmation. The four-way handshake is introduced. After negotiation, such a resource reservation protocol as RSVP can reserve system and network resources according to the arbitrated values. This paper suggests a conceptual model of the transport layer and its protocol behaviors over the IP multicast and RSVP network.
In this paper, we analyze the compression of optical soliton which is obtained by proceeding the optical pulse in FSDD(Fiber with Slowly Decreasing Dispersion) using both NSE(Nonlinear Schrodinger Equation) and GNSE(General Nonlinear Schrodinger Equation) and compare the results. We replace the FSDD with a sequence of fibers having different dispersion values and pompre the results with those obtained in FSDD. It is found that the same results in peak value and FWHM(Full width Half Maximum) can be obtained by replacing FSDD with a sequence of fibers having proper length. We vary the shape of initial pulse which is the input of FSDD and suggest the condition to obtain higher compression rate.
This paper presents a control scheme for a three-phase PWM converter system without any voltage sensors. Two input currents and one load current are measured. In a general PWM converter system, the required AC input and DC output voltage values in order to control the converter are estimated using the differential equations of the converter from the measured input currents and load current values in the switch modes of the converter circuit. The PI controller is used as DC voltage controller and sinusoidal tracking controller which tracks directly AC input current is used as input current controller. The Proposed method is verified by simulations. This paper describes the estimation method and configuration of the controller, and discusses steady state and transient performances of the converter
Importance of Today's diffusion of integrated hospital information systems is that various and huge amount of data is being accumulated in their database systems. Many researchers have studied utilizing such hospital data. While most researches were conducted mainly for medical diagnosis, there have been insufficient studies to develop medical care cost prediction model, especially using machine learning techniques. In this research, therefore, we built a medical care cost prediction model for cancer patients using CBR (Case-Based Reasoning), one of the machine learning techniques. Its performance was compared with those of Neural Networks and Decision Tree models. As a result of the experiment, the CBR prediction model was shown to be the best in general with respect to error rate and linearity between real values and predicted values. It is believed that the medical care cost prediction model can be utilized for the effective management of limited resources in hospitals.
