  • Most of the games developed or marketed in the Chinese game market are developed and serviced in foreign countries or are produced in Korea (China) and marketed as services of foreign game companies. If China wants to become the world's game development powerhouse, I think that professional education in multiple methods is the top priority. In particular, I think that a specialized game design department is necessary at a university in China. In this paper, we investigate the game design departments of universities in the United States and the game development powers in South Korea and the Korean game development powers to analyze the educational system of the game design department. Through comparative analysis, a Chinese university finds the necessary elements when establishing a new game design department, and trains advanced game developers in the game field at the Chinese Department of Digital Media Arts. If this study is helpful to the game education in China, it will be studied in the future for the master's program and the doctoral program.

  • The game industry has been seeing rapid change brought on by the competitive environment globally. As a result, game design skill is being magnified as a key to success. Because of lack of game design skills, Korean game market is in crisis recently. The game analysis is necessary to enhance game design skills. However, criteria and definition of game analysis is not clear and it is difficult to use for game development. This paper will suggest H-G model which has two factors that are 'human role' and 'the scope of game analysis'. This model segments 9 types of game analysis method. This study finds the limitation of leading researches and tries to improve it mapping the major leading researches to H-G model. This paper would help to make the game analysis be integrated and systemic research as regards 9 types of H-G model.

  • The Indie Game market is emerging as a niche for game startups. We analyzed policy cases related to indie games in local governments, and the private sector to suggest ways to improve the Indie Game market. As a result, the problems of Indie Game-related policies resulted in lack of market research and success case analysis, lack of manpower training program, accelerator program, and public-private cooperation project. To build an Indie Game ecosystem, we proposed the necessity of establishing an effective promotion system through cooperation between the local government and the state.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to explore the influential factors of family function, parent-child communication, and family satisfaction on Korean adolescents game use. Methods: The participants were 940 adolescents in Seoul. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data. The study variables were family function, parent-child communication, family satisfaction, and game use. Results: Game use was different by gender, age, time to spend in game during weekdays and weekend. Game use had significant negative correlations with family cohesion, family adaptability, communication with father, communication with mother, and family satisfaction. Multiple regression analysis showed that 20.3% of the game use was explained by gender, communication with mother, hours of playing games during weekdays, family adaptability, and hours of playing games during weekend. Conclusions: These results suggest that being male and lack of communication with mother, low family adaptability, game hours during weekdays and weekend can be potential risk factors for excessive game use in the adolescents, which should by considered in developing a prevention program for excessive game use focused on family factors.

  • In game characters, the direction of character design varies depending on the expression or production method. It is necessary to perform game character personality design by reflecting the importance. This study derives the importance of the game character personality model using AHP for the efficient decision and presents game character personality design check tool. In design elements, the importance of external appearance was the highest in all of style. In personality factors, action in 3D realism, external appearance in 3D animation, and speech in 2D animation were the most important.

  • The creativity is the important ability required to game designers. But there is few research for the definition of creativity and creative thinking method. This study suggests that what creativity is and how to use creative thinking methods in the game design. In the first, this study analyzes three types of creativity meaning: revolutionary creativity, evolutionary creativity and impromptu creativity. In the second, this study suggests that how to use thinking methods that are mind map, brainstorming, check list and etc. The game designer's creativity can be improved by the suggestion of this study.

  • The existing defense strategy selection methods based on game theory basically select the optimal defense strategy in the form of mixed strategy. However, it is hard for network managers to understand and implement the defense strategy in this way. To address this problem, we constructed the incomplete information stochastic game model for the dynamic analysis to predict multi-stage attack-defense process by combining Bayesian game theory and the Markov decision-making method. In addition, the payoffs are quantified from the impact value of attack-defense actions. Based on previous statements, we designed an optimal defense strategy selection method. The optimal defense strategy is selected, which regards defense effectiveness as the criterion. The proposed method is feasibly verified via a representative experiment. Compared to the classical strategy selection methods based on the game theory, the proposed method can select the optimal strategy of the multi-stage attack-defense process in the form of pure strategy, which has been proved more operable than the compared ones.

  • Studies on aesthetic experience in games mostly focus on engineering approach centered on structural determination of specific target within the game as well as humanistic·social approach in forms of artistic conversation on game play experience. This paper have established a theoretic guideline regarding the progress of aesthetic experience which allows analysis from the perspective of player experience acquired during game play. Based on such guideline, the study classifies cognitive data (Eye-Tracking, Playing Action, Facial Expression) on aesthetic experience and suggests the methods to measure such data. By deducing errors and points to be considered related to measuring methods through pilot tests, this study will contribute to the execution of empirical study focused on player perspective.

  • Fair and efficient bandwidth allocation methods using the coalition game theory and the bargaining game theory following the axiomatic approach have been proposed when sending nodes with different traffic input rate try to share the bandwidth. These methods satisfy the axiomatic fairness provided by the mathematical ground of the game theories. However, since the axioms of the two game models are different from one another, the allocated bandwidths to each sending nodes become different even in the same communication environments. Thus, in this paper, we model the bandwidth allocation problem with these game theories, and quantitatively compare and analyze the allocated bandwidth and loss rate of each sending nodes in various communication environments. The results show that the bargaining game allocates relatively less bandwidth to a node with a higher sending rate than that with a lower sending rate while coalition game allocates bandwidth according to the sending rate of each node.
