  • Fuzzy L. P. with Multi-criteria function is adopted in this VAR allocation algorithm to accomplish the optimization of co-conflicting objectives, such as the amount of the VAR Installed and power system loss, while keeping the bus voltage profile within an admissible range. fuzzy L. P., a powerful tool dealing with the fuzziness of satisfaction levels of the constraints and the goal of objective functions, enables us to search for the solutions which may contribute in VAR planning. This advantage Is not provided by traditional standardized L. P. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm has been verified by the test on the IEEE-30 bus system.

  • In this paper first, we find a canonical symmetrical trapezoidal(triangular) for the solution of the fuzzy linear system $A\tilde{x}=\tilde{b}$, where the elements in A and $\tilde{b}$ are crisp and arbitrary fuzzy numbers, respectively. Then, a model for fuzzy linear programming problem with fuzzy variables (FLPFV), in which, the right hand side of constraints are arbitrary numbers, and coefficients of the objective function and constraint matrix are regarded as crisp numbers, is discussed. A numerical procedure for calculating a canonical symmetrical trapezoidal representation for the solution of fuzzy linear system and the optimal solution of FLPFV, (if there exist) is proposed. Several examples illustrate these ideas.

  • The dynamic design object of rotor system is to optimize the system in stability at the operating speed, unbalance response in the vicinity of the rotor critical speed, bearing weighting and system weighting. In conventional optimization method, designers have to set mathematical modeling, such as objective function, constraints and design parameters, strictly and quantitavely. But in actual design process, they do not treat all of these values strictly and some of them are somehow "fuzziness". So, considering boundary conditions of seal diameter, clearance, and length in a typical double suction centrifugal pump is fuzzy, this paper is considered fuzzy in constraints. Fuzzy method is used .alpha.-level cut method. Then, the optimum dimensions of seal according to values are obtained and vibration characteristics are investigated.estigated.

  • 지진예측을 위한 확률론적퍼지모형을 제안하였다. 제안된 모형은 지진발생에 대하여 무작위성(randomness)과 퍼지니스(fuzziness)를 같이 사용하여, 기존의 확률론에 근거한 지진예측방법을 개선할 수 있도록 하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 (a) 주어진 초과확률에 대한 지반가속도 또는 주어진 지반가속도에 대한 초과확률의 멤버쉽함수와 (b) 멤버쉽함수를 대표할 수 있는 특성값(characteristic value)이다. 확률론적 퍼지모형을 미국 Utah주의 Wasatch Front Range의 자료에 적용하여 서로 다른 연간 초과확률, 최대지반가속도에 대하여 지진도를 작성하였다.

  • Most causes of accidents are due to physical unsafety conditions and human unsafety actions. The design of safety work by ergonomics method is one of the methodes which effectively reduce these unsafety conditions and unsafety actions. This paper presents considerations in design of safety work. And when we try to analyze the accident event by means of probability, there exist some problems because of fuzziness in physical unsafety conditions' components and human unsafety actions' components which are the causes of basic event. For this reason, it is impossible for input probability of basic event to define a crisp value. In consideration of the uncertain probability of components, this paper deals with the Fuzzy set theory by membership value and suggests calculation procedure and analysis of disaster event.

  • Job shop scheduling problem is a complex system and an NP-hard problem. Thus it is natural to look for heuristic method. We consider the multi-part production scheduling problem for quality level in a job shop scheduling under the existence of alternative routings. The problem is more complex if the processing time is imprecision. It requires suitable method to deal with imprecision. Fuzzy set theory can be useful in modeling and solving scheduling problems with uncertain processing times. Li-Lee fuzzy number comparison method will be used to compare processing times that evaluated under fuzziness. This study presents heuristic method for quality level in bottleneck-based job shop scheduling under fuzzy environment. On the basis of the proposed method, an example is presented.

  • DC series wound motor is commonly used for the industrial vehicles. Although it has good operating torque, heavy variations of parameters and nonlinear properties on friction and loads make it difficult to satisfy desired performance using conventional controllers. To solve this problem, fuzzy controller is proposed in this paper. The fuzzy controller has been designed based on the fuzziness of variables, it retains robustness even with nonlinearity.

  • The paper deals with interactive multiple criteria decision making procedure when decision maker (DM) specifies her or his preference in incomplete ways. Usually DM is willing or able to provide only incomplete information, because of time pressure and lack of knowledge or data. Under incomplete information on utility and attribute weight, the pairwise dominance checks result in strict or weak dominance values. Considering only strict dominance values sometimes fails to Prioritize alternatives because of fuzziness of preference information. Further there exists some information loss useful if used, otherwise. In this paper, we consider the outranking concept which implies the willingness of DM's taking some risk under the least favorable situation because she has enough reasons to admit the results. By comparing the magnitude of net preference degree of alternatives which is defined by difference between outrankings and outranked degree of each alternative, we can prioritize alternatives.

  • In this paper, the possibilities of the Infra-red sensor in sensing and control of the bead geometry in the automated welding process are presented. Infra-red sensor is a well-known method to deal with the problems with a high degree of fuzziness so that the sensor is employed to build the relationship between process variables and the quality characteristic the proposed above respectively. Based on several neural networks, the mathematical models are derived from extensive experiments with different welding parameters and complex geometrical features. The developed system enables to select the optimal welding parameters and control the desired weld dimensions during arc welding process.

  • 인간이 움직이는 물체에 탑승하고 있거나 움직이는 물체를 잡고 있을때 어떤 종류의 감성을 느끼게 된다. 물체의 속도, 가속도, 또는 강성, 감쇠 등으로 인하여 인간은 쾌, 불쾌감을 갖게 되며, 본 논문에서는 이러한 감성을 운동감이라 정의한다. 이러한 운동감을 공학적으로 유용한 데이터로 만들기 위해 운동감 어휘를 도입하여 정량화를 시도하였으며, 복수의 운동감 어휘를 연산할 수 있는 방법과 가중치를 구할 수 있는 방법을 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 귀의 전정 기관에서 느끼는 몸 전체의 평형 감각 및 운동 감각은 고려의 대상으로 제외하며, 팔에 국한하여 피부 감각과 팔 근육의 위치 인지 등으로 인한 운동감을 해석 대상으로 한다. 해석의 편의성을 위하여 팔을 제외한 몸의 움직임은 없는 상태로 유지하며, 팔의 2차원 운동만을 고려하기고 한다. 퍼지는 사람의 언어와 같이 모호한 사건을 해석하기 위한 이론이다. 모호한 정도를 표현하는 방법으로 퍼지 정도척도(measutr of fuzziness)와 퍼지척도(fuzzy measure)가 많은 분야에서 이용되고 있다. 하지만 운동감에 대한 연구는 미비한 실정이므로 불확실성을 평가하는 퍼지 이론을 이용하여 운동감을 해석하려 한다.
