  • Recently, the aviation industry faced a major crisis due to the impact of COVID-19. However, despite the sluggish passenger transportation, the cargo transportation sector is relatively maintained or increasing depending on the item. In this study, we will look at the trends before and after COVID-19, focusing on the cargo export field, which is a concern of the aviation industry. First, it analyzes the entire air cargo and then analyzes the trends of each item and country in detail. In particular, it examines the process of changes in air transport costs, which increased significantly immediately after COVID-19, and conducts future trends and prospects in the cargo export field. As a result of the study, some characteristics of air cargo exports before and after COVID-19 were found in an analysis by item and country, and transportation costs varied according to route distance.

  • As environmental concerns grow, people are becoming more aware of energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and sustainable development. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification is currently the most widely recognized building environment assessment method connected to energy and the environment worldwide. This study explores trends for six factors (energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, indoor environmental quality, sustainable sites, water efficiency, and innovation in design) to assess four levels of LEED certification (Platinum, gold, silver, and certified) using 11,209 LEED projects in the United States. The study analyzes trends using scores of percentages of maximum points by certification level, ownership type, space type, and climate zones. With the interest in the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principle on the rise, this study contributes to a better understanding of the trends and future of LEED certification in the built environment sector.

  • Decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) is an effective and secure means to enable direct collaboration between people who want to achieve common goals in a digital environment, where believing each other without intermediaries from trusted third parties is difficult. DAO can flexibly implement most of the roles previously performed by existing organizations and finally aim for a new structure that functions independently without human intervention. Despite its technical and legal uncertainties and problems, DAO is rapidly expanding. This study examines trends such as the concept, use cases, participation methods, and deficiencies of DAO, which is called the future of work and helps to understand upcoming considerations.

  • In this research, policies, and technology trends associated with quantum computers were examined, and through this, implications for domestic methods were derived. It is not a guarantee that developing quantum computing technology suited for domestic use would be successful to emulate the success stories of technology-leading nations. Technology leaders like the United States, China, and Europe are putting together strategic technology blocks to compete for technological hegemony. Adapting to and exploiting this trend will help us develop future technologies and secure market competitiveness. The dominant technology in the area of quantum computing has not yet been established. In the future, there will be fair competition in every specific technology area. At this point, it may be claimed that making audacious decisions will still lead to technological superiority.

  • The recent explosion in the number of low earth orbit (LEO) satellites launched to space allows to easily anticipate that the number of satellites in orbit will sustain a dramatic increase. As satellite components are integrated and unified with terrestrial cellular networks, they will play a key role in providing coverage and resilience for future cellular networks. We provide a brief overview of typical scenarios and network architectures for cellular-based LEO satellite communication systems. In addition, we outline 3GPP standardization trends in non-terrestrial networks and satellite access based on 5G/5G Advanced systems and analyze future evolution prospects of cellular-based satellite communication systems.

  • This paper analyzes domestic research trend on information security, compares its results with international trends, and studies future directions we should have on national level. This research is a successor of the work for analysis of global research trend on information security. Therefore we select the same analysis method to compare domestic and international research trends exactly. To do this, we use domestic papers presented or published from 2001 to 2014, measure temporal relationship between technologies related to information security, analyze domestic research trends, and compare the results. Finally we will suggest our future direction through considering international future markets of technologies.

  • Digital twins are one of the promising digital technologies used to facilitate digital transformation. Therefore, it needs to continually be developed remain relevant in industry and academia. Consolidation of research is required to create a common understanding of the topic and to ensure that future research is built upon a solid foundation. Based on a bibliometric review and a thematic analysis of 217 publications on digital twins from the past two decades, this paper creates and analyzes a visual knowledge map and proposes areas for further research. To comprehensively analyze the development trends and research trends of digital twins, we performed statistical analysis of the relevant literature on digital twins within the core collection database of Web of Science. Through our research, we have shown that the current situation, trends, and hotspots of digital twin research were analyzed via CiteSpace. This study demonstrates that research on digital twins is rapidly growing in popularity, that the output of the research depends largely on the core group of authors conducting it, and that digital twins warrant cross-domain and cross-disciplinary research pathways.

  • In this study, we introduce trends in and the future of digital personal assistants. Recently, digital personal assistants have begun to handle many tasks like humans by communicating with users in human language on smart devices such as smart phones, smart speakers, and smart cars. Their capabilities range from simple voice commands and chitchat to complex tasks such as device control, reservation, ordering, and scheduling. The digital personal assistants of the future will certainly speak like a person, have a person-like personality, see, hear, and analyze situations like a person, and become more human. Dialogue processing technology that makes them more human-like has developed into an end-to-end learning model based on deep neural networks in recent years. In addition, language models pre-trained from a large corpus make dialogue processing more natural and better understood. Advances in artificial intelligence such as dialogue processing technology will enable digital personal assistants to serve with more familiar and better performance in various areas.

  • The purpose of this study is to derive implications for improving related policies and evaluation criteria in the future by analyzing trends of evaluation criteria for industry-university cooperation in Korea. For this purpose, five surveys on industry-university cooperation by government departments, major general university evaluations, and evaluation indicators of specialized industry-university evaluations by the Ministry of Education were analyzed. As a result, most of the evaluation criteria for domestic industry-university cooperation have been composed of quantitative indicators and have a limited character as quantitative performance management for government projects. Although the Ministry of Education's evaluation criteria for industry-university cooperation projects has gradually changed to a segmented index considering universities, industries, and regions, it needs to be supplemented for sustainability of industry-university cooperation. In order to promote sustainable industry-university cooperation in the future, it was suggested that first, it is necessary to supplementation of qualitative Indicators considering each university's characteristics, second, the composition of indicators related to reflect on demand in the process of the cooperation, and third, to build a virtuous cycle system for future operation of evaluation criteria.
