  • Recently in Korea, may workers have reported the effects of the granulated blast furnace slag[BFS] of high fineness on the strength development of slag cement. We have studied the effect of slag fineness on the strength development of mortar with curing conditions, in order to get the basic data of high strength concrete using BFS. In this paper, we discussed the effects of slag fineness and porosity of mortar and the reaction of slag in hardened slag cement.

  • An experimental study is carried out to estimate the way of applying the granulated blast furnace slag[GBFS] to the lean concrete base of concrete pavement. According to the test results, this application seems promising. For this application, mixing percent of GBFS ranging from 30 to 50 is recommendable at this stage. And performance of base mixed with GBFS is greatly affected by the curing and placing condition. As long as all requirements for application of GBFS to the base is satisfied, better performance is expected.

  • In this paper, we carried out the fundamental experiments on the resistance of chemical attack of mortar using the electric are furnace slag as fine aggregate. The mortar specimens made from the EAF slag as fine aggregate were immersed in four sorts of chemical solutions, and measured to investigate the change of compressive strength and weight. As the results of this study, it was found that compressive strength and weight were increased with incresing replacement ratio of the EAF slag.

  • The effects of polymer-binder ratio and slag content on the properties of combined wet/dry-cured polymer-modified mortars using granulated blast-furnace slag (slag) are examined. As a result, the flexural and compressive strengths of polymer-modified mortar using slag reaches a maximum at a slag content of 40%, and is inclined to increase with increasing polymer-binder ratio. The water absorption, carbonation depth and chloride ion penetration depth tend to decrease with increasing polymer-binder ratio and slag content.

  • In the industria; heat treatment fields, some parts of the continous funcae have been automated, but there are not enough interests and achievements for sutomatic charging machine. The automatic charging machine is set up to the industrial mesh belt type continuous furnace which continuously orintermittently charge and extract industrial units for the heat treatments.

  • In this study, we investigate the difference of concrete between natural aggregate and electric are furnace(EAF) slag one in oder to use EAF slag aggregate as coarse aggregate in concrete. We find the physical and chemical properties of EAF slag aggregate for the aging process. We consider the properties od the concrete made with EAF slag aggregate which are compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and modulus of elasticity.

  • This paper presents fundamental experiment for the properties of high performance concrete in its fresh and hardened state made with ground granulated blast-furnace (GGBF) slag. The result is that the effect of decreasing xoncrete temperature is to the mixing ratio of GGBF slag, but it presents disadvantage in the slump loss phase. In addition to, we know that the splitting tensile strength, compressive strength and elastic modulus of concrete mixed with high fineness GGBF slag are increased at age 28days.

  • This paper shows that the GPC with exponential weighting(GPCEW) can be applied to Electric furnace system which has large time delay. Stability of GPCEW can be guarantee from monotonically non-increasing property of Riccati difference equation. We show that the performance of GPCEW versus GPC and auto-tuning PID control is better than that of GPC or atito-tuning PID.
