This descriptive study was conducted in order to develop a standard criteria for nursing laboratory facilities and equipment for use by the 3 year nursing colleges. The data was collected from Aug. 28 to Sept. 30, 1997 by mail from 44 3 year nursing schools. To develop a standard criteria, the syllabi for Fundamentals of Nursing laboratory and for Physical Assessment were collected and analyzed. The following information was elicited and analyzed by the researchers : 1. for each procedure in the syllabus, the percentage of schools using the procedures 2. the facilities and equipment recognized as necessary and the percentage of schools which possess each item 3. calculation of the standard criteria for size of the nursing laboratory together with a list of the necessary facilities and equipment. The results of the study were as follows : 1. The Size of facility was 181.2m2 for fundamentals of Nursing laboratory and 56.4m2 for the storage room. For those whose number of students exceed 120, 1.98m2 is required for each students. 2. The number of items included in the standard criteria was 92 for Fundamentals of Nursing and Physical Assessment and 47 for other nursing subjects. The items made of rubber, plastic and the disposable ones were suggested but excluded from the standard criteria. Based on the above findings, the following suggestions were made : 1. Periodic review of the standard criteria is necessary to update the standard. 2. A study on the standardization of the curriculum for basic science laboratory, including experiment and a standard criteria of equipment, is necessary. 3. A study to develop a computer program for management of nursing laboratory facilities and equipment is needed.

Purpose: This study was done to provide information about issues of clinical competency from the perspective of new graduate nurses and to make suggestions for improving undergraduate education programmes. It was also done to clarify learning experiences between fundamentals of nursing and the other major areas of nursing. Method: For this study, 7 new graduates and 8 experienced nurses participated. The data were collected through in-depth interviews and analysed in terms of Strauss and Corbin's grounded theory methodology. Result: Core category and main categories, were delineated. Clinical nursing competency was found to be a dynamic process with each participant actively engaged in acquiring problem solving ability in diverse clinical settings. These findings have value in understanding the embedded meaning of clinical nursing competency. Conclusion: Therefore, the educational programs reflecting the experience of new nursing staff should be developed.

Purpose: In this study, effects of positive, negative, and mixed verbal feedback were examined for accuracy of self-assessment, emotional responses, self-efficacy, and perceived quality of feedback in skill performance assessment. Methods: Participants were a convenience sample of 104 second-year nursing students who had completed their fundamentals of nursing class. Participants were assigned randomly to a positive, a negative or a mixed feedback group. All participants completed the performance measure and then received the assigned the type of feedback from an evaluator. After delivery of feedback, they assessed their own performance using the same sheet as the evaluator and completed the survey for emotional response, self-efficacy for learning, and quality of feedback. Results: There were no significant differences in accuracy of self-assessment and perceived quality of feedback among the three groups ($x^2=4.74$, p=.094; $x^2=3.30$, p=.192, respectively). The negative feedback group had significantly lower self-efficacy and positive emotions and more negative emotions than the other two groups (F=9.43, p=.009; $x^2=16.29$, p<.001; $x^2=5.69$, p=.005, respectively). Conclusion: Negative feedback can affect emotions and motivations for learning in nursing students and may interfere with the effectiveness of feedback, so instructors should pay more attention when providing negative feedback. Mixed feedback with an effect similar to positive feedback could be an alternative.

This study was to investigate the understand learning motivation, self-directed learning ability and problem solving process of fundamentals of nursing course using role play in evaluating the course. The subjects were 289 nursing students in year 1 in J college taking fundamental nursing practice course from Nov. 22 to Dec. 10. 2010. After setting hospital context and preparing scenario with patient and nurse roles, the evaluation of fundamentals of nursing practice was performed. For learning motivation and self-directed learning ability, there were significant differences by application motivation, a group intending further study and a group positive in role play evaluation. For problem solving process, there were significant differences in male group and a group positive in role play evaluation. Learning motivation had significant positive correlation between self-directed learning ability and between self-directed learning ability and problem solving process. This evaluation had correlation between learning motivation, self-directed learning ability and problem solving process.

MMO RPG Online game as a new means of human computer interaction has been made rapid progress. Even though many kinds of online game have published, few games are being well received by its user. So we have a problem to be solved what is the fundamentals to attract game users. I will apply a game theory of the Roger Caillois who lived as an typical french thinker. Although Roger Caillois had never experienced a computer game since he died at 1978, his game theory was acknowledged that a game can be classified into four sections to grab the human's interest related with culture. Four sections of game were consisted of Ilinx, Mimicry, Alea, and Agon. The competition with people in game is essential to "Agon" that which stands on the basis of a pride when one is definitely superior to the others. In same way, "Alea" is that which stands on the basis of fortune, Mimicry is that which stands on the basis of simulation, Ilinx is that which stands on the basis of dizzy. In conclusion, I will explain that a game theory of the Roger Caillois is useful tool for deveoper to understand game fundamentals.d game fundamentals.

Purpose: This study was done to understand nursing students' exposure of needlestick and sharp injuries (NSSI), level of anxiety as well as experience of practicing injection with human beings during Fundamentals of Nursing (FN) practice. Methods: Data consisted of self-report questionnaires completed by 571 nursing students who had completed an injection practice in FN. The questionnaire included questions on general characteristics, exposure to NSSI, experience of practicing injections with human beings, level of anxiety and other experiences. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and content analysis. Results: Of the students, 17.5% experienced NSSI and 83.2% performed invasive injection procedures in the FN practice. The level of anxiety was 4.62-6.46/10 points when injecting a classmate and 1.27-1.93/10 points when using manikins. The feeling most often reported was worried about making a mistake that could hurt my classmate (57.2%). Conclusion: Nursing students are exposed to NSSI and experience a high degree of anxiety in invasive injection practice. These results indicate that it is necessary to develop and implement standardized NSSI prevention and anxiety reduction programs in FN.

New engine design changes and ever increasing requirements make the design of gear oils challenging. Proper understanding of fundamental lubrication theory and formulation knowledge is necessary to develop new gear oils. This paper provides an overview on fundamentals of lubrication theory and functions of each additive. Also, key technical issues facing gear oils are discussed.

The principles of the physical vapour deposition processes(PVC); evaporation, sputting, and ion plating are presented and compared with each other with respect to coating properties, deposition rate and process control. The significance of coating sources and vacuum equipment for hard materials coating is discussed.
