Recent changes show that the goals of reproduction devices have changed from accurately reproducing scenes to improving user preference. It implies that the directions in developing cameras, the most common reproduction devices, are moving from performance-centered to quality-centered, from developers to users. Accepting such changes demand new standards in evaluating reproduction devices. This paper suggests a new method to evaluate the quality of images, based on cognitive properties of users. The quality of an image is a result oriented from the interaction of various attributes, therefore some functional tests are not enough to evaluate total quality of an image. In this respect, an evaluation model which integrates various physical attributes of an image is needed, that enables a third observer to subjectively evaluate the total quality of an image. In this paper, the experiment was carried out to 127 subjects, with the 84 test stimuli and 11 evaluation factors, followed by an factor analysis. The evaluation factors to assess the quality of images in this paper includes the results by cognitions of users and the properties of reproduction, the factors not only evaluate the quality but suggest how to improve them.

Introduction: Accurate diagnosis and treatment planning are very important for orthognathic surgery. A small error in diagnosis can cause postoperative functional and esthetic problems. Pre-existing 2-dimensional (D) chephalogram analysis has a high likelihood of error due to its intrinsic and extrinsic problems. A cephalogram can also be inaccurate due to the limited anatomic points, superimposition of the image, and the considerable time and effort required. Recently, an improvement in technology and popularization of computed tomography (CT) provides patients with 3-D computer based cephalometric analysis, which complements traditional analysis in many ways. However, the results are affected by the experience and the subject of the investigator. Materials and Methods: The effects of the sources human error in 2-D cephalogram analysis and 3-D computerized tomography cephalometric analysis were compared using Simplant CMF program. From 2008 Jan to 2009 June, patients who had undergone CT, cephalo AP, lat were investigated. Results: 1. In the 3 D and 2 D images, 10 out of 93 variables (10.4%) and 11 out 44 variables (25%), respectively, showed a significant difference. 2. Landmarks that showed a significant difference in the 2 D image were the points frequently superimposed anatomically. 3. Go Po Orb landmarks, which showed a significant difference in the 3 D images, were found to be the artificial points for analysis in the 2 D image, and in the current definition, these points cannot be used for reproducibility in the 3 D image. Conclusion: Generally, 3-D CT images provide more precise identification of the traditional cephalometric landmark. Greater variability of certain landmarks in the mediolateral direction is probably related to the inadequate definition of the landmarks in the third dimension.
In computing the optical flow, Horn and Schunck's method which is a representative algorithm is based on differentiation. Therefore it is difficult to estimate the velocity for a large displacement by this algorithm. In this paper, we propose a method for estimating nonuniform motion from sequential images which is based on integral brightness constancy constraints. The equations which transform a source image to a target image are expressed as a function of the displacement field. If marginal effects can be neglected, the form of the transformation integral transform or orthogonal expansion can be determined from the expansion coefficients of the two images. The apparent displacement field is then computed iteratively by a projection method which utilities the functional derivatives of the linearized moment equations. We demonstrate that the performance of the orthogonal function transform on the data set of large motion.

The purpose of this study was to analyze jeans market faced with economic difficulties to provide jean's maker with a large representative data base for jeans marketing strategy. This study surveyed jeans market and analyzed brand awareness. brand image and consumer's seeking image for 700 young adults. The 700 questionnaires were distributed at the five locations(Opkujung Shinchon Munjungdong, Shinrimdong '||'&'||' Suwon) and 656 reliable ones were used for statistical analysis. A. SAS statistical package including frequency table factor analysis. analysis of variance. and Duncan's multiple range test was used. The results are as follows : 1. Brand awareness involves "brand recall" based on asking a person to name recalled first and "brand rcognition" based on asking to identify brand name from 30 given brands. The result indicated that "Levis" was dominant for brand recall and Guess was dominant for brand recognition. 2. Regarding the brand image the result showed that "Vov" was best represented for sophisticated '||'&'||' trendy brand images "Storm" for characteristics brand image "Jambangee" for reasonable price '||'&'||' comfortable brand images and "Levis" for classic '||'&'||' design/color brand images. 3. As a result of factor analysis on consumer's seeking image six factors(characteristic/gay, intelligent/sexy, feminine/sophisticated , active/functional, cute/young, simple/comfortable) were found. Several factors had a relationship with demographic variables and preferred design. 4 Many young adults favored following design details ; low waist relaxed thigh with straight leg and long length up to the end of shoes. Also they preferred basic pocket to cargo pocket and simple logo accessories to metal ones.simple logo accessories to metal ones.

The shape of crotch area is very important to develop functional clothing as well as other ergonomic goods such as chair or saddle etc. However, it is inevitable that 3D scanned image of crotch would have missing part due to its folded shape including overlapping legs nearby. Therefore, the objectives of this research was to compare reconstruction methods of missing parts at crotch using seven dummies of real men's replicas. Two reconstruction methods adopted were kinds of 'fill- hole' in Rapidform 2004, one was 'smooth' and the other was 'curvature'. Each restored image was compared with the original shape of the dummies. As results, the average distance was 0.66mm between original and 'smooth' treated images and 0.59mm between original and 'curvature' treated, which was not statistically different. Average area of restored crotch region was $8740.04cm^2$ by 'smooth' method and $8405.02cm^2$ by 'curvature' method which is close to the original area of $8413.76cm^2$. Statistical difference was found between images of original and 'smooth' ones$(p=0.04^*)$. However, there was no difference between original and 'curvature' treated images, which indicates that 'curvature' method is more useful to fill the hole compared with 'smooth' method.
The purpose of this thesis is to conduct a thorough research on shoes of 2000s, understand the changes and analyze the differences and the characteristics of the shoe designs of the past and present in order to predict and indicate the future direction of the women shoe designs. The shoes of the millennium not only kept the old fashioned shapes but also showed futuristic shapes. With the increasing importance of shoes in fashion, shoes with various images were created. As far as the materials are concerned, natural materials and artificial materials were both used. The colors were vivid and the futuristic colors. On the other hand, pastel toned colors and romantic colors were used in many different designs and shapes regardlees of the seasons. Straps and hills differed from the oldies. Heavy decorations were added to strap shoes to form a whole new design and hills show geometrical platforms or the avantgarde like heights. Feminine images overwhelmed the shoe designs of the millennium. To elaborate, Pumps displayed feminine images the most for it showed a high frequency number regardless of the seasons. Shoes are presented in aesthetical perspective rather then functional or practical perspectives that are based on human nature. Cultural, social, environmental and some part religious factors had a great influence on the evolution on the shoes. Especially in the 2000s, future oriented concepts were implemented on shoe designs, resulting a wider range of expressiveness and in the end leading to a more creative shoe designing. Changes in shoe designs could be pointed out in many ways according to the shapes materials, colors, modeling of decorations or also with the diverting trends.

A reliable extraction of welded area is the precedent task before the detection of weld defects in industrial radiography. This paper describes an attempt to detect and extract the welded features of steel tubes from the computed radiography(CR) images. The statistical properties are first analyzed on over 160 sample radiographic images which represent either weld or non-weld area to identify the differences between them. The analysis is then proceeded by pattern classification to determine the clustering parameters. These parameters are the width, the functional match, and continuity. The observed weld image is processed line by line to calculate these parameters for each flexible moving window in line image pixel set. The local statistic line-clustering method is used as the classifier to recognize each window data as weld or non-weld cluster. The sequential procedure is to track the edge lines between two distinct regions by iterative calculation of threshold, and it results in extracting the weld feature. Our methodology is concluded to be effective after experiment with CR weld images.

A new class of carbosiloxane dendrimer (G4-48PyP) terminated with 4-pyridylpropano I was synthesized and its possible application to functional thin films was examined through metal complexation and Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique. The highly concentrated periphery pyridyl groups of G4-48PyP were exposed on aq. aluminum ions at the air-water interface. The monolayers showed stability up to ca. 50 mN/m of surface pressure. When the subphase became acidic or alkaline, the monolayers changed to condensed phase. The presence of aluminum ions also caused reduction of the molecular area. The macroscopic images of the monolayers were monitored by Brewster angle microscopy (BAM) and only the images of dendrimer aggregates could be observed after the monolayer collapse. The surface images of the monolayer LB film were scanned by atomic force microscopy (AFM). The convex structures of single and aggregate molecules were directly observed. The structures of Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films were characterized by FT-IR, UV-Vis, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The UV-Vis spectrum of the aluminum ion-complexed LB film showed additional band around 670nm, which was not found in the spectra of dendrimer itself or aq. aluminum ions. XPS spectra also supported the incorporation of aluminum ions into the LB films.

Using 3D asphalt pavement surface data, a deep and multiscale network named CrackNet-M is proposed in this paper for pixel-level crack detection for improvements in both accuracy and robustness. The CrackNet-M consists of four function-specific architectural modules: a central branch net (CBN), a crack map enhancement (CME) module, three pooling feature pyramids (PFP), and an output layer. The CBN maintains crack boundaries using no pooling reductions throughout all convolutional layers. The CME applies a pooling layer to enhance potential thin cracks for better continuity, consuming no data loss and attenuation when working jointly with CBN. The PFP modules implement direct down-sampling and pyramidal up-sampling with multiscale contexts specifically for the detection of thick cracks and exclusion of non-crack patterns. Finally, the output layer is optimized with a skip layer supervision technique proposed to further improve the network performance. Compared with traditional supervisions, the skip layer supervision brings about not only significant performance gains with respect to both accuracy and robustness but a faster convergence rate. CrackNet-M was trained on a total of 2,500 pixel-wise annotated 3D pavement images and finely scaled with another 200 images with full considerations on accuracy and efficiency. CrackNet-M can potentially achieve crack detection in real-time with a processing speed of 40 ms/image. The experimental results on 500 testing images demonstrate that CrackNet-M can effectively detect both thick and thin cracks from various pavement surfaces with a high level of Precision (94.28%), Recall (93.89%), and F-measure (94.04%). In addition, the proposed CrackNet-M compares favorably to other well-developed networks with respect to the detection of thin cracks as well as the removal of shoulder drop-offs.
The beneficial effects of graduated compression stockings (GCS) in prophylaxis and treatment of venous disorders of human lower extremity have been recognized. However, their pressure functional performances are variable and unstable in practical applications, and the exact mechanisms of action remain controversial. Direct surface pressure measurements and indirect material properties testing are not enough for fully understanding the interaction between stocking and leg. A three dimensional (3D) biomechanical mathematical model for numerically simulating the interaction between leg and GCS in dynamic wear was developed based on the actual geometry of the female leg obtained from 3D reconstruction of MR images and the real size and mechanical properties of the compression stocking prototype. The biomechanical solid leg model consists of bones and soft tissues, and an orthotropic shell model is built for the stocking hose. The dynamic putting-on process is simulated by defining the contact of finite relative sliding between the two objects. The surface pressure magnitude and distribution along the different height levels of the leg and stress profiles of stockings were simulated. As well, their dynamic alterations with time processing were quantitatively analyzed. Through validation, the simulated results showed a reasonable agreement with the experimental measurements, and the simulated pressure gradient distribution from the ankle to the thigh (100:67:30) accorded with the advised criterion by the European committee for standardization. The developed model can be used to predict and visualize the dynamic pressure and stress performances exerted by compression stocking in wear, and to optimize the material mechanical properties in stocking design, thus, helping us understand mechanisms of compression action and improving medical functions of GCS.
