There can be little dissension that the ultimate goal of all physical therapy interventions with the elderly is to restore or maintain the highest level of function possible for the individual. Whenever physical therapists take on this challenge, they assist elders in maintaining their identities as competent adults. Advancing age is associated with profound changes in body composition, including increased fat mass, decreased fat-free mass(particularly muscle), decreased total body water and decreased bone density. Along with these changes in body compositions, and perhaps as a direct result of them, elderly people have lower energy needs, reduced strength and functional capacity and a greatly increased risk for such diseases as noninsulin-dependent diabetes mellitus and osteoporosis. Resistance training is considered a promising intervention for reversing the loss of muscle function and the deterioration of muscle structure that is associated with advanced age. This reversal is thought to result in improvements in functional abilities and health status in the elderly by increasing muscle mass, strength and power and by increasing bone mineral density. In the past couple of decades, many studies have examined the effects of Resistance training on risk factors for age-related diseases or disabilities. We have explored the positive and negative aspects of older adults' participation in resistance training programs. The benefits to older adults are reported to be increased strength, endurance, muscle capacity, and flexibility; more energy; and improved self-image and confidence. The negative aspects include some pain or stiffness and other nonspecific problems. The positive and negative aspects of resistance training are therefore very similar to those in younger populations. Scientific investigations over the past 10 years have demonstrated that resistance training can be safely and successfully implemented in older populations. Even the frail and very sick elderly can benefit and improve their quality of life. Proper design and progression of a resistance training program for older adults is vital to optimal benefits from resistance exercise. The results of data provided by this research on resistance training for health shows that there is enough existing evidence to conclude that resistance training, particularly when incorporated into a comprehensive fitness program, can offer substantial health benefits which can be obtained by persons of all ages. These benefits, including improvements in functional capacity, translate into an improved quality of life.

Light with two faces, beneficial and harmful effects is an important signal for every living cell. Optimal adaptation to light environment enhances the fitness of an organism and survival in nature. Understandings of light quality and plant growth provide with the economical guides for artificial light sources like LEDs. Compared with those under white light, the 1 week seedlings of Chinese cabbage (Brassica rapa) under monochromic red and blue light showed normal development and growth. In contrast to extremely long and etiolated hypocotyls of the seedlings under dark, those under far-red etiolated were extremely short. Based on the microarray analysis, blue light induced the vigorous development and growth and two fold changes of transcripts than red light condition. To have insight of gene products under different light qualities conditions, GO term enrichments were calculated and each gene according to their GO terms were categorized. The blue and red lights affected the expressions of genes related to biological process. Especially, the genes related to metabolic process and developmental process and plastid and chloroplast in the cellular component category were induced under blue light. This study provided the molecular biological evidence for various light qualities on the growing process of B. rapa.

The paper concerns Fuzzy C-Means clustering based fuzzy neural networks (FCM-FNN) and the optimization of the network is carried out by means of hierarchal fair competition-based parallel genetic algorithm (HFCPGA). FCM-FNN is the extended architecture of Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBFNN). FCM algorithm is used to determine centers and widths of RBFs. In the proposed network, the membership functions of the premise part of fuzzy rules do not assume any explicit functional forms such as Gaussian, ellipsoidal, triangular, etc., so its resulting fitness values directly rely on the computation of the relevant distance between data points by means of FCM. Also, as the consequent part of fuzzy rules extracted by the FCM-FNN model, the order of four types of polynomials can be considered such as constant, linear, quadratic and modified quadratic. Since the performance of FCM-FNN is affected by some parameters of FCM-FNN such as a specific subset of input variables, fuzzification coefficient of FCM, the number of rules and the order of polynomials of consequent part of fuzzy rule, we need the structural as well as parametric optimization of the network. In this study, the HFCPGA which is a kind of multipopulation-based parallel genetic algorithms(PGA) is exploited to carry out the structural optimization of FCM-FNN. Moreover the HFCPGA is taken into consideration to avoid a premature convergence related to the optimization problems. The proposed model is demonstrated with the use of two representative numerical examples.

Recently, Basic patterns with excellent body fitness and automation availability are required to be developed in order to automate the patterns of women's clothes. In this study, this reference points, reference lines and segments were fixed onto 3D scan data for the lower body the women in their twenties, they were directly spread out to be 2D flat pattern to facilitate development into the design of slacks adhered closely to the human body such as special and highly-functional clothes, and then slacks 2D pattern was developed for the purpose of seeking scientific approach to the development into basic form slacks and 3d emotional pattern. For conversion of 3D pattern into 2D flat pattern, reference points and segments were created by using Rapid Form of 3D shape analysis software, and triangle mesh of the body surface of the created shape was developed with Auto CAD 2005. The correspondence between slacks and human body was examined by the fixation of major reference lines. Specially, the wearing characteristics of slacks were considered by the fixation of side lines in consideration of posture. As a result of using the way of development to constantly maintain the length while 3D triangle mesh is converted into 2D flat mesh, the shape was shown to be excellently reproduced, and the area of flat pattern was increased compared to the shape of parting plane. Also, the sunk-in curve like the brief line of front crotch length needed a cutting line when it was closely adhered, when mesh was overlapped, and the pattern area was smaller compared to the actual shape.

In the research area of estimation of the software development efforts, a number of researches have been accomplished in order to control the costs and to make software more competitive. However, most of them were restricted to the functional algorithm models or the statistic models. Moreover, since they are dealing with the cases of foreign countries, the results are hard to apply directly to the domestic environment for the efficient project management because of lack of accuracy, fitness, flexibility and portability. Therefore, it is appropriate to suggest and propose a new approach supported by artificial neural network which is composed of back propagation and feel-forward algorithms to improve the exactness of the efforts estimation and to advance practical uses. In this study, the artificial neural network approach is used to model the software cost estimation and the results are compared with the revised COCOMO and the multiregression model in order to validate the superiority of the model.

The Educational Cultural Center for Students is a new mixed-cultural space which made around 1997 for students' education of humanism and talent with the 7th revision of educational course. This Educational Cultural Center for Students is different to the existing one because the subject of the culture is students who make creation and performance by themselves while the former ones were for seeing, hearing and feeling things. There are seven Educational Cultural Center for Students all over the country and will be built more in the future. Comparing to the former Educational Cultural Centers for Students, functional rooms in the Educational Cultural Centers for Students are an outdoor performance room, a large performance room, a small performance room of performance facility, a gallery of display facility, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, a fitness room, a table-tennis room of physical facility, a library and a reading room of a book facility, and a group room, a computer room, a singing room, a billiard room, an art room, a musical room, a dancing room, a manner room, a playing room, a cultural lecture room and a seminar room of a interest-activity facility. The result of analyzing the usage frequency is that a performance room has the highest frequency and a display room, a musical room, a music appreciation room and a physical room follow the frequency order. But this frequency does not fit for all area. By place and social situations, the frequency and space organization may be changed.
The purposes of this study were to summarize the concept of well-being and well-being apartment, to grasp the present condition of apartments which were introduced with well-being elements, and to find out the consumer preferences on well-being elements for apartment planning. Library and internet surveys were performed to summarize the concept of well-being and well-being apartment and to grasp the present condition of apartments which were introduced with well-being elements. Questionnaire survey was carried out from 2nd to 22nd of June 2005, to investigate the preferences on well-being elements for apartment planning. The respondents were 250 residents who are from thirties to fifties and living in urban area. As results, respondents think that 'living for health of body and mind' about concept of well-being and 'certificated apartments by green building rating system' or 'apartments introduced ecological factor' about concept of well-being apartment. They answered that 'yes' about 'Do you have intention to buy well-being apartment?'. The elements in aspect of complex planning having the preference were revealed that promenade for complex design, ecological garden or walking space for landscape design, outdoor exercise space for outdoor design, and security system for foundation equipment. The elements having the preference in aspect of public facilities were fitness room for sports & health facility and study room for cultural facility. The preferred elements in aspect of building and unit design were roof garden for building design, multi-functional room for unit floor plan, natural surface material for interior surface, ventilation system for indoor environment, control system for home automation, and food waste machine for home electronics.
To improve the standard of living of its citizens, local festivals is located in one axis of the new culture. These symptoms shows that there is increasing awareness of traditional culture such as Hanryu. The purpose of this study is to develope the presentative Dress of Andong International Maskdance Festival to stimulate curiosity and participate easily. 24 villages in Andong were present to represent appropriate Dress of Maskdance Festival which have been announced through the fashion show. The characteristics of the maskdance dress which presented in this study has the purpose of making the specialties of each village to tourism resources. Characteristics of the maskdance dress which designed to blend on the mask was as following. (1) Maskdance dress should shown well and must have strong durability of strenuous exercise in maskdance (2) Maskdance dress should be able to get the sympathy of the spectators. (3) Maskdance dress should be sympathetic as modern costumes. (4) Aesthetics as custumes and requirements as product must be met. (5) Acceptance of Andong region's traditional beauty is required. (6) Maskdance dress is likely to require long-term use. (7) Maskdance dress must be able to accommodate a variety of body conditions. Through customer satisfaction survey of 158 spectators and 48 members of fashion show, the relevance of masks and costumes, aesthetic and motility of costumes, commercialization potential, especially costume' motility and functional fitness of clothing sizes was highly evaluated. So maskdance dress or stage costumes as long-term development is likely to be considered. And continued research is needed.
This study examined the optimal ingredient mixing ratio for the preparation of steamed cake containing mugwort (Artemisia princeps var. orientalis) powder. After preliminary studies, the following ingredient ranges were determined; 110~129% sugar, 3~8% mugwort powder, 10~25% oil. Among the different mixture designs, the D-optimal design was chosen for analysis. The results of F-test, specific gravity, viscosity, volume and color values (L, a, b), hardness decided a linear model, while the sensory characteristics (color, taste, texture and overall acceptance) decided a quadratic model. The fitness analysis results showed that in all characteristic, the probabilities were significant within 0.05%; thus, the models were accepted as appropriate. The response surface and trace plot results showed that increasing amounts of mugwort powder decreased the brightness, and increased redness and yellowness. As the level of added oil increased, the softness of the cake increased. Cake samples received low sensory evaluation scores when sugar, mugwort powder, and oil were added above their optimal levels. The optimum formulations by the numerical and graphical methods, were similar, and with the numerical method presented as: sugar, mugwort powder, and oil at 120.7%, 5.1%, and 16.2%, respectively(flour weight basis). The above results demonstrate the feasibility of adding mugwort powder to sponge cake, and therefore, the commercialization of mugwort powder cake marketed as a functional food is deemed possible.

The results of our fitness analysis demonstrated that in all characteristic, the probabilities were significant within 0.05%; thus, the models were accepted as appropriate. The response surface and trace plot results demonstrated that increasing amounts of added bamboo leaves induced a reduction in brightness, and increasing redness and yellowness. In addition, increasing amounts of bamboo leaves caused increases in hardness, and thus the softness of the cake decreased. And as the level of added oil increased, softness increased. Cake samples received low sensory evaluation scores when sugar, bamboo leaves, and oil were added above their optimal levels. In the numeric optimization, the optimal ingredient amounts were 121.36% sugar, 4.96% bamboo leaves, and 15.69% oil. The above results demonstrate the feasibility of adding bamboo leaves to sponge cake, and therefore, a bamboo leaves as a functional food.
