기능적전기자극 치료와 신경발달치료가 편마비 환자의 하지 경직에 미치는영향 (The Influence of Functional Electric Stimulus Treatment and Neurological Development Treatment on the lower limbs' Spasticity of the Patients with Hemiplegia)

  • The purpose of this study has been conducted to reduce the lower limbs' spasticity of the patients with hemiplegia caused by cerebral stroke of apoplexy and find differences about spasticity effects among each group. The objects of this study covered 24 patients with hemiplgia who are either in the oo hospital in Daegu or under treatment from home to hospital. The objects fall into three groups which are a group of neurological development treatment, a group of functional stimulus treatment and a group of neurological development treatment and functional stimulus treatment. The result of this study were as follows : 1) The neurological development treatment has been found to reduce the lower limbs' spasticity of patients with hemiplegia caused by cerebral stroke of apoplexy and compared to before-treatment, the MAS value of spasticity has been shown to be statistically meaningful ,and gradually over the period of between 4 weeks and 8 weeks(P <.05). 2) The functional electric stimulus treatment has been shown to reduce the lower limb's spasticity of patients with hemiplegia caused by cerebral stroke of apoplexy and compared to before-treatment, the MAS value of spasticity was statistically meaningful and compared to 4 weeks, even at the time of 8 weeks, the MAS value of spasticity have shown statistical meaningness. (P <.05) 3) When neurological development treatment and functional electric stimulus treatment was applied at the same time, the lower limbs' spasticity of patients with hemiplegia was reduced meaningfully(P <.05). Compared to before-treatment at the time of 4 weeks, the MAS value of spasticity was statistically meaningful and compared to 4 weeks at the time of 8 weeks the MAS value of spasticity was also statistically meaningful(P <.05) 4) In the case of time-based MAS value of each group, functional electric stimulus treatment reduced the spasticity more meaningfully than neurological development treatment, and the group of same application of functional electric stimulus treatment and neurological development treatment showed better statistical meaningness than functional electric stimulus treatment alone(P <.05) and finally the group of same application of neurological development treatment and functional electric stimulus treatment showed more meaningful difference than neurological development treatment alone(P <.05)

노화촉진마우스를 이용한 복분자의 기억력 감퇴 개선 효과 (Rubus coreanus Miquel Improves on Impairment of Memory in Senescence-Accelerated Mouse (SAM))

  • 본 연구에서는 복분자 섭취가 노화에 의한 기억력 감퇴에 개선 효과를 나타내는지 조사하기 위해 노화촉진마우스 (SAM)를 사용하여 평가하였다. 28주령 SAMP8 마우스에 복분자 시료를 100 mg/kg body weight/day로 8주간 투여한 후 수동회피시험과 수중미로시험을 실시하여 기억력 개선효과를 평가하였다. 수동회피시험에서 노화 촉진 동물(SAMP8)은 대조동물(SAMR1)에 비해 밝은 방에서 체류시간이 현저히 감소하였다. 복분자를 섭취한 노화 촉진 동물의 밝은 방에서의 체류 시간은 복분자를 섭취하지 않은 동물에 비해 현저히 증가하였다. 수중미로실험에서 대조 동물에 비해 노화 촉진 동물의 평균 탈출잠복기는 길었고, 복분자를 섭취한 경우 평균 탈출잠복기가 유의적으로 감소하였다. 뇌의 대뇌피질과 해마 조직에서 대조군에 비해 노화 촉진 동물의 acetylcholinesterase 활성이 증가하였다. 복분자를 섭취한 노화 촉진 동물의 해마 조직 내 acetylcholinesterase는 복분자를 섭취하지 않은 동물에 비해 유의적으로 감소하였다. 이 결과들은 복분자가 노화촉진마우스에서 노화에 의한 기억력 감퇴에 대한 개선 효과를 나타내며, 이는 콜린성 신경전달에 중요한 역할을 하는 acetylcholinesterase 활성 감소를 통해 이루어짐을 나타낸다. 향후 더 많은 연구가 수행 되어야 하나, 본 연구는 복분자가 노인의 기억력 개선제 개발에 좋은 기능성 소재로 활용할 수 있음을 제시한다.

애기장대의 염해 저항성 관련 유전자의 기능적 선별 (Functional Screening of Plant Genes Suppressed Salt Sensitive Phenotype of Calcineurin Deficient Mutant through Yeast Complementation Analysis)

  • 작물의 생산성 증가를 위해 염해 저항성 메커니즘을 이해하는 것이 중요하다. 식물의 염해 저항성에 관련된 유전자를 확보하기 위한 여러 가지의 선별방법이 개발되었다. 본 논문에서는 애기장대의 cDNA 라이브리를 염해감수성 효모인 cnb 돌연변이체에 삽입하여 염해 감수성 표현형을 회복하는 콜로니를 선발하였다. 이 선별방법을 통하여 34종의 cnb 돌연변이체의 염해 감수성을 회복하는 콜로니를 선별하였으며, 염기서열분석을 통하여 CaS와 AtSUMO1, AtHB-12 등 9종의 유전자임을 확인하였다. 이들 유전자 중 CaS의 발현이 염해 저항성을 증가시키는 것과 염해 처리에 의해 CaS의 유전자의 발현이 증가되는 것을 확인하였다. CaS 발현억제 형질전환체는 100 mM 염처리에 의하여 뿌리생장이 저해되었다. 또한 150 mM 염처리에 의하여 CaS 발현억제 형질전환체의 잎에서 백화현상을 나타내었다. 이러한 결과를 통하여 CaS 유전자가 효모와 식물에서 염해 저항성에 중요한 유전자임을 증명하였다.

시스템 요구사항 최적화를 위한 프레임워크 (A Framework for Optimizing System Requirements)

  • A well organized system requirements provide a solid basis of achiving a successful project and are effective methods of communication among stakeholders. We illustrate and propose a 'System Requirement Development Framework' to develop correct requirements as a methodical approach. We first organize a 'Requirement Development Process' and then establish a 'Non-Functional Requirements Principle'. On these basis, we next propose a 'Requirement Development Guideline' from a perspective of 'Functional Requirement', 'Non-Functional Requirement' and 'Triage' in advanced stages. We also verify and evaluate the suitability of our proposed 'System Requirement Development Framework' by applying it to several projects.

Genetic Approach to Identify Critical Factors for Mouse Early Embryogenesis

  • Development of the mammalian pre-implantation embryos has unique features, such as a slow and unsynchronized cell division, compaction, and eventual formation of blastocysts with inner cell mass and trophectoderm. In order to have a clue on molecular mechanisms that reside in mouse early development, we suppressed expression of early embryo-specific genes with RNAi and observed their development in vitro. We observed developmental defects in embryos microinjected with dsRNAs for Oct4 or Nanog among the tested genes. Careful examinations revealed that development of the most of the Oct4- or Nanog-suppressed embryos were arrested at the morula stage. These results suggest that the Oct4 and Nanog activities are also required for embryogenesis earlier than the blastocyst stage.

  • With the development of autonomous driving technology, as the use of software in vehicles increases, the complexity of the system increases and the difficulty of development increases. Developments that meet ISO 26262 must be carried out to reduce the malfunctions that may occur in vehicles where the system is becoming more complex. ISO 26262 for the functional safety of the vehicle industry proposes to consider functional safety from the design stage to all stages of development. Specifically at the software level, the requirements to be complied with during development and the requirements to be complied with during verification are defined. However, it is not clearly expressed about specific design methods or development methods, and it is necessary to supplement development guidelines. The importance of analysis and verification of requirements is increasing due to the development of technology and the increase of system complexity. The vehicle industry must carry out developments that meet functional safety requirements while carrying out various development activities. We propose a process that reflects the perspective of system engineering to meet the smooth application and developmentrequirements of ISO 26262. In addition, the safety analysis/verification FMEA processforthe safety of the proposed ISO 26262 function was conducted based on the FCAS (Forward Collision Avoidance Assist System) function applied to autonomous vehicles and the results were confirmed. 노년층 소비자의 기능성 소재 추구 혜택, 태도 및 구매 의도에 관한 연구 (A Study of Older Consumers' Seeking Benefits and Purchase Intentions for and Their Attitudes towards Functional Materials)

  • The purposes of this study are to examine older consumers' seeking benefits and purchase intentions for functional materials and their attitudes towards such materials and investigate the differences between purchasers and non-purchasers of functional materials in their seeking benefits for functional materials and their emphasis on self development and pursuit of fashion. In doing so, this study samples the older adult population living in Seoul, Busan, and Gyeonggi Province and analyzes 267 questionnaire responses obtained from the sampled older consumers. The main findings from the analysis are as follows: First, the older consumers' seeking benefits for functional materials were represented by three different dimensions: reliability, brands/fashion, and others-oriented pursuit. Second, the influence on the dimension of reliability was more significant in the order of knowledge on functional materials, pursuit of fashion, and emphasis on self-development the interest in garments and the pursuit of fashion were found to have significant influence on the dimensions of brands/fashion and others-oriented pursuit. Third, the respondents' attitudes towards functional materials showed significant correlations with the dimensions of reliability and others-oriented pursuit, while their purchase intentions for functional materials were significantly influenced by the dimensions of reliability and brands/fashion. Finally, when the differences in the respondents' seeking benefits for functional materials and their pursuit of fashion and emphasis on self-development were investigated according to whether or not they had ever purchased clothes made from any functional material, the group of purchasers showed a higher mean value than the non-purchaser group.

자색고구마 신자미로부터 분리한 안토시아닌 분획물의 항산화 활성과 산화스트레스에 대한 간세포 보호 효과 (Antioxidant Activity and Protective Effects of Anthocyanins-Rich Fraction from Korean Purple Sweet Potato Variety, "Shinjami" against Oxidative Stress in HepG2 Cell)

  • Anthocyanins, a class of flavonoids, are natural water-soluble pigments, which are mainly found in vegetables and fruits. Anthocyanins have attractive pharmacological activities, such as anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and anti-diabetic. The purpose of this study was to investigate the protective effects of anthocyanins-rich fraction (ANF) from Korean purple sweet potato variety, "Shinjami", against hydrogen peroxide ($H_2O_2$)-induced oxidative stress. In our results, pre-treatment of HepG2 cells with ANF ($10{\mu}g/mL$) significantly prevented cell death and maintained cell integrity, following exposure to 0.9 mM hydrogen peroxide. The $H_2O_2$-dependent production of intracellular ROS was also significantly decreased by pre-treatment with ANF (6 h, $10{\mu}g/mL$). In addition, ANF increased the mRNA levels of antioxidant enzymes, catalase and glutathione level in $H_2O_2$-treated HepG2 cells. These results indicated that ANF protected HepG2 cells against $H_2O_2$-induced oxidative stress by inducing protective system.

Effects of Panicum miliaceum L. extract on adipogenic transcription factors and fatty acid accumulation in 3T3-L1 adipocytes

  • The dietary intake of whole grains is known to reduce the incidence of chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. To investigate whether there are anti-adipogenic activities in various Korean cereals, we assessed water extracts of nine cereals. The results showed that treatment of 3T3-L1 adipocytes with Sorghum bicolor L. Moench, Setaria italica Beauvois, or Panicum miliaceum L. extract significantly inhibited adipocyte differentiation, as determined by measuring oil red-O staining, triglyceride accumulation, and glycerol 3-phosphate dehydrogenase activity. Among the nine cereals, P. miliaceum L. showed the highest anti-adipogenic activity. The effects of P. miliaceum L. on mRNA expression of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-${\gamma}$, sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1, and the CCAAT/enhancer binding protein-${\alpha}$ were evaluated revealing that the extract significantly decreased the expression of these genes in a dose-dependent manner. Moreover, P. miliaceum L. extract changed the ratio of monounsaturated fatty acids to saturated fatty acids in adipocytes, which is related to biological activity and cell characteristics. These results suggest that some cereals efficiently suppress adipogenesis in 3T3-L1 adipocytes. In particular, the effect of P. miliaceum L. on adipocyte differentiation is associated with the downregulation of adipogenic genes and fatty acid accumulation in adipocytes.
