  • This paper propose the technique for the execution authentication of digital signature with TTS(traceable trust server) to guarantee the safe execution of mobile agents. That is to say, it is focused on improving the processing speed of systems and the traffic of network which are problems in the existing studies. The digital signature is used to guarantee the efficient and safe execution and the integrity of mobile agents. The certificate of it is chained with synthesis function, cryptographic algorithm based on public key, and hash function. And white hosts can be protected against the threat of being used maliciously. Then, we prove the efficiency of system overhead and the traffic of network by the analysis. In case the certificate chain of a digital signature is used, the safe execution of mobile agents can be protected against attackers that wish to insert a newly created certificate after cutting off the chain after striking space key 2 times.

  • Korea is located away from plate boundaries which are not safe from earthquakes. However, having witnessed the large-scale earthquake in the Tangshan region in 1976 deemed as a safe plate, it should not be assured that Korea is absolutely safe from earthquakes. In addition, many seismologists have claimed that there indeed is a high possibility of earthquakes above mid scale that would occur in Korea. Because it is impossible to prevent earthquake, studies on seismic design and earthquake disaster control system are widely being conducted. However, studies on early response to earthquakes or recovery process are still very limited, and only a few studies for establishing earthquake damage evaluation system are being conducted. Thus, this study aimed to present essential data for establishing earthquake damage evaluation system that takes into account the real situation of structures in Korea. In this study, a nonseimically reinforced concrete apartment structure in Gangnamgu was selected as an standard type of such structures and its earthquake damage was estimated. The result of damage evaluation based on the derivation of vulnerability function and realtive story displacement was compared to that abtained using HAZUS Program Vulnerability Function.

  • The existing method of deriving the fail-safe design requirements for the domestic developed rotary-wing aircraft system may miss the factors that cause critical system function failures, when being applied to the latest integrated avionics system. It is because the existing method analyzes the severity effect of the failures caused by a single item. To solve the issue, we present a systematic analysis procedure for deriving fail-safe design requirements of system architecture by utilizing functional hazard assessment and development assurance level analysis of SAE ARP4754A, international standard for complex system development. To demonstrate that our proposed procedure can be a solution for the aforementioned issue, we set up experimental environments that include common factors that can cause critical function failures of a system, and we conducted a cross-validation with the existing method. As a result, we showed that the proposed procedure can identify the potential critical common factors that the existing method have missed, and that the proposed procedure can derive fail-safe design requirements to control the common factors.

  • Objective: The rehabilitation protocols for functional recovery have been emphasized after total knee arthroplasty, and Pilates is in the spotlight as a safe and easily modified exercise method. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of mat Pilates exercise on lower extremity function, postural balance, and walking in the individuals with total knee arthroplasty. Design: One group pretest-posttest design. Methods: Eighteen older women with unilateral total knee arthroplasty was recruited in the study. The subjects were evaluated on lower extremity function, postural balance, and walking before and after mat Pilates exercise. All subject performed one hour mat Pilates exercise, 3 times a week for 8 weeks. Mat Pilates exercises were focused on core stability and lower extremity strengthening and, more dynamic movements were added to increase the difficulty of movements every two weeks. The lower extremity function was measured using the Western Ontario and McMaster Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC), knee joint position sense, and five times sit-to-stand test. Postural balance was assessed by single leg stance test, functional reach test, and timed up and go test. Walking was measured by OptoGait system to temporospatial parameter. Results: The lower extremity function, postural balance, and walking were significantly improved after mat Pilates exercise, except for five times sit-to-stand test (p<0.05). Conclusions: This study demonstrated that the mat Pilates exercise was a useful method to improve lower extremity function, postural balance, and walking in the older women with unilateral total knee arthroplasty.

  • In order to prepare for the commercialization of Korean tilting train, this study was made on the pre-analysis of risk factors that can happen during operation, and emergency measures for safe operation of tilting train. The purpose of the study of emergency measures is to help to make tilting train run safely by making counteraction procedures for unusual situations such as train breakdown or accidents during the operation of a tilting train so that the engineer can quickly take care of each situation. Based on the items of emergency measures for EMU operated by Korean Railroad(or Korail), possible breakdown items during operation were selected and prioritized considering the occurring frequency and emergency level of each breakdown. In addition to these items, by adding items to represent tilting train's typicalfunctions such as tilting function error, tilting storage battery's electric pressure drop, etc, a total of62 emergency items were finally selected and measures for each item was made.

  • Under violent competition to secure international raw materials, safe supply and demand of crude oil that only relies on import among main raw materials is an important task for Korean economic development. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the impact of price change of international crude oil on merchandise balance. It also presents political suggestions in preparation for national economic development and safety and develops an organized and long-term overseas resources development program. As the time-series data which had the 1st difference contribute to dismissal of the null hypothesis successfully, we carry out a multivariate cointegration test developed by Johansen (1988) and find that at least one cointegration vector exists. And, when Impulse Response Function is introduced, as the crude oil import price shows a negative impact from Step 2, then an extreme change, a positive impact since Step 13, is maintained and a safe result appears.

  • In this paper, we implemented a mobile application of location-based augmented reality that combines self-sensing technology and various safety information using technological advancements of the smartphone. Vessel navigation is a suitable area for augmented reality because it requires accurate knowledge of the distance and location of destinations, danger zones, AtoN, and adjacent vessels. Current smartphone applications only provide 2D images and location information. Such applications do not include information about the surrounding environment, and as a result, they can only function using their own sensing information and surrounding information into a location-based augmented reality. If you provide a variety of sensor information embedded in the smartphone to 'BadaGO', the implemented application through this study, 'BadaGO' can provide safe navigation information to the user device in real time with a variety of its own formed information. The user has a high practicality and applicability of a small ship that is supplied with safe navigation information in a changing marine environment only by providing information through the application on the smartphone.

  • The article presents a systematic approach to design of marine navigation channels parameters resulting from manoeuvring and operational safety. Relations between the parameters of waterway system elements and the conditions of safe ship operation have been determined and the objective function of waterway parameters' optimization problems has been minimized with respect to variables of construction and operation costs. These costs have been functionally associated to variables of channel width at the bottom and fairway depth. The method of fairway's width computation at specified safe depth at the preliminary and detailed stages of waterway design has been proposed. The results of this method application have been illustrated with two examples: 1. The modernization of Szczecin-Swinoujscie fairway aimed at accepting vessels of 60,000 DWT capacity. 2. Construction of an approach channel leading to a newly built container terminal in Swinoujscie harbour (Poland), handling ocean-going container ships of 20,000 TEU capacity.
