Theoretical Investigation on the Structure, Detonation Performance and Pyrolysis Mechanism of 4,6,8-Trinitro-4,5,7,8-tetrahydro -6H-furazano[3,4-f]-1,3,5-triazepine

  • Based on the full optimized molecular geometric structures at B3LYP/cc-pvtz method, a new designed compound, 4,6,8-trinitro-4,5,7,8-tetrahydro-6H-furazano[3,4-f ]-1,3,5-triazepine was investigated in order to look for high energy density compounds (HEDCs). The analysis of the molecular structure indicates that the seven-membered ring adopts chair conformation and there exist intramolecular hydrogen bond interactions. IR spectrum and heat of formation (HOF) were predicted. The detonation velocity and pressure were evaluated by using Kamlet-Jacobs equations based on the theoretical density and condensed HOF. The bond dissociation energies and bond orders for the weakest bonds were analyzed to investigate the thermal stability of the title compound. The results show that $N_1-N_6$ bond is the trigger bond. The crystal structure obtained by molecular mechanics belongs to $Pna2_1$ space group, with lattice parameters Z = 4, a = 15.3023 ${\AA}$, b = 5.7882 ${\AA}$, c = 11.0471 ${\AA}$, ${\rho}=2.06gcm^{-3}$. In addition, the analysis of frontier molecular orbital shows the title compound has good stability and high chemical hardness.

Foodservice Systems of Meal Service Programs for Mental Disorder Care Sites in Korea (한국 정신요양시설의 급식 서비스 현황 분석)

  • The purposes of this study were to: a) examine characteristics of foodservice management practices; b) investigate characteristics of recipients; c) analyze foodservice systems; and d) provide feedback for the efficient and effective foodservice management of mental disorder care sites in Korea. A total of 46 sites was analyzed by questionnaire survey. Statistical data analysis was completed using the SPSS package program for descriptive analysis. As results of site recipients' characteristics, 60% of total sites were males and 40% were female recipients. Average 60% of recipients were from 30 to 40 years old. Major diseases of recipients were mental disorder, high pressure, and obesity. According to the result of foodservice system analysis, the average meal cost per day was about 2,921 won and average food cost percentage was 39%. Average number of meals per day was about 600 meals. All sites had on dietitian and 88.3% of sites had one cook as a full-time employees. In the part of procurement, dietitians were major chargers of sites for purchasing foods. Major purchasing method was the order and delivery contract. About a half of sites used cycle menu system and standardized recipies. Most of sites had recipients survey systems for evaluating meal satisfaction. About 60% of sites provided liquid diets to recepients and 22% provided diabetic diets. Dietitians at sites had problems on low meal cost budget, lack of cooking professionals, and lack of information about treatment meals for mental disorders for providing higher quality of foods cure recipients. The results suggested that financial and systematical supports by the government would be very necessary to meet the goal of nutritional balanced meal services.

Recognition of processed foods may affect the use of food labelings in middle school students (중학생과 학부모의 가공식품에 대한 인지도가 식품표시의 이용에 미치는 영향)

  • In order to investigate the recognition of processed foods, use of food labeling, and their influencing factors in adolescents, 277(male 125, female 152) middle school students were conveniently selected from Cheonan city, and were surveyed by self-recording questionnaire on June, 2000. Subjects' parents were also surveyed using the similar questionnaire. Food labels of all 222 processed foods collected from stores around schools, were well labeled in most items, but food additives(35.6%) and the origin of major ingredient(27.0) were not well indicated. The recognition score of processed foods was 55.0 out of a full score 100 in students and 68.5 in parents. The scores of students were positively correlated with those of their parents and with father's education years, while negatively correlated with snacking expenses. The rate of reading food labels was significantly different between students(51.3%) and their parents(89.9%). The main purposes of reading food labels, in case of students, were to check expiry date(93.7%), price(70.4%), and how to eat(46.5%) in order. While in parents, those were to check expiry date(95.6%), additives(59.0%), and manufacturer(45.8%). Similarly, the most three important items in food labels were expiry date, price, and quantity to the students, but to the parents they were expiry date, manufacturer, and ingredient. The most significant reason not to confirm food labels was because of small size and complication of labels. The students who did not read food labels had more snacking money and more frequent snacking, and showed lower recognition score of processed food, compared with the students who read food labels. In conclusion, the students did not well recognise processed foods and only a half of them read food labels at purchasing. The recognition score of processed foods, snacking moneys, and snacking frequency may be influencing factors on the reading of food labels in students. The high recognition of processed food of parents may positively affect the students' recognition, but did not affect directly the reading food labels.

Analysis of AIGaAs/GaAs Depleted Optical Thyristor using bottom mirror (하부 거울층을 이용한 AIGaAs/GaAs 완전 공핍 광 싸이리스터 특성 분석)

  • We fabricate and analyze fully depleted optical thyristors (DOTs) using quarter wavelength reflector stacks (QWRS). QWRS are employed as bottom mirrors to enhance the emission efficiency as well as the optical sensitivity. In order to analyze their switching characteristics, S-shape nonlinear current-voltage curves are simulated and the reverse full-depletion voltages (Vneg's) of DOTs are obtained as function of semiconductor parameters by using a finite difference method (FDM). The fabricated DOTs show sufficient nonlinear s-shape I-V characteristics and switching voltage changes of these devices with and without bottom mirrors show 1.82 V and 1.52 V, respectively. Compared to a conventional DOT, this device with the bottom mirrors shows about 20% and 46% enhancement in switching voltage change and spontaneous emission efficiency, respectively.

An Efficient Diagnosis Algorithm for Multiple Stuck-at Faults (다중 고착 고장을 위한 효율적인 고장 진단 알고리듬)

  • With the increasing complexity of VLSI devices, more complex faults have appeared. Many methods for diagnosing the single stuck-at fault have been studied. Often multiple defects on a foiling chip better reflect the reality. So, we propose an efficient diagnosis algorithm for multiple stuck-at faults. By using vectorwise intersections as an important metric of diagnosis, the proposed algorithm can diagnose multiple defects using single stuck-at fault simulator. In spite of multiple fault diagnosis, the number of candidate faults is also drastically reduced. For fault identification, positive calculations and negative calculations based on variable weights are used for the matching algorithm. Experimental results for ISCAS85 and full-scan version of ISCAS89 benchmark circuits prove the efficiency of the proposed algorithm.

Fabrication and characteristics for the organic light emitting device from single layer poly(N-vinylcarbazole) (단층 poly(N-vinylcarbazole) 유기물 전기발광 소자의 제작 및 특성)

  • Organic light emitting devices from a single layer thin film with a hole transport polymer, poly(N-vinylcarbazole) (PVK) doped with 2-(4-bi phenyl)-5-(4-t-butyl-phenyl) -1,3,4-oxadiazole (Bu-PBD) as electron transporting molecules and Coumurine 6(C6), 1,1,4,4-tetraphenyl-1,3-butadiene (TPB), Rhodamine B as a emitter dye were fabricated. The sing1e layer structure and the use of soluble materials simplify the fabrication of devices by spin coating technique. The active layer consists of one polymer layer that is simply sandwiched between two electrodes, indium-tin oxide (ITO), and aluminum. In this structure, electron and hole inject from the electrodes to the PVK : Bu-PBD active layer. Respectively, Blue, green and orange colored emission spectrum by the use of TPB, C6, Rhodamine B dye emitted at 481nm, 500nm and 585nm were achieved during applied voltages. PVK materials can be useful as the host polymer to be molecularly doped with other organic dyes of the different luminescence colors. And EL color can be tuned to the full visible wavelength.

  • This paper deals with an implementation of the navigation parameter extraction technique using the TMS320C80 multimedia video processor (MVP). Especially, this Paper focuses on the relative position estimation algorithm which plays an important role in real-time operation of the overall system. Based on the relative position estimation algorithm using the images obtained at two locations, we develop a fast algorithm that can reduce large amount of computation time and fit into fixed-point processors. Then, the algorithm is reconfigured for parallel processing using the 4 parallel processors in the MVP. As a result, we shall demonstrate that the navigation parameter extraction system employing the MVP can operate at full-frame rate, satisfying real-time requirement of the overall system.

  • In this paper, we present design and prototyping of a low-cost, integrated multi-functional micro health sensor chip that can be used or embedded in widely consumer devices, such as cell phone and PDA, for monitoring environmental condition including air pressure, temperature and humidity. This research's scope includes basic individual sensor study, architecture for integrating sensors on a chip, fabrication process compatibility and test/evaluation of prototype sensors. The results show that the integrated TPH sensor has good characteristics of ${\pm}\;1\%FS$ of linearity and hysteresis for pressure sensor and temperature sensor and of ${\pm}\;5\%FS$ of linearity and hysteresis But if we use 3rd order approximation for humidity sensor, full scale error becomes much smaller and this will be one of our future study.

The Effects of Corner Transistors in STI-isolated SOI MOSFETs

  • In this work, the effects of corner transistors in SOI MOSFETs were investigated. We fabricated SOI MOSFETs with various widths and a fixed length and characterized them. The SOI thickness was $4000{\AA}$ and the buried oxide(BOX) thickness was $4000{\AA}$. The isolation of active region was simply done by silicon etching and TEOS sidewall formation. Several undesirable characteristics have been reported for LOCOS isolation in fabrication on SOI wafers so far. Although we used an STI-like process instead of LOCOS, there were still a couple of abnormal phenomena such as kinks and double humps in drain current. Above all, we investigated the location of the parasitic transistors and found that they were at the corners of the SOI in width direction by high-resolution SEM inspection. It turned out that their characteristics are strongly dependent on the channel width. We made a contact pad through which we can control the body potential and figured out the dependency of operation on the body potential. The double humps became more prominent as the body bias went more negative until the full depletion of the channel where the threshold voltage shift did not occur any more. Through these works, we could get insights on the process that can reduce the effects of corner transistors in SOI MOSFETs, and several possible solutions are suggested at the end.

A channel Routing System using CMOS Standard Cell Library (CMOS 표준 Cell Library를 이용하는 수평 트랙 배선 시스템)

  • In this Paper, we present a non-doglegging channel routing system for If layout using standard cells. This system produces a final two-layer wiring pattern in the horizontal track between two rows, each of which is a linear placement of standard cells of identical heights, satisfying the given net list specification. The layout of CMOS cell library Including nine primitive cells used in this paper is represented in CIF (Caltech Intermediate Form) using λ(Lambda) of 2 microns in Mead-Conway layout representation scheme. The cell dimension and 1/0 characteristics such as name, position and layer type of the pins are stored in Component Library to be used in the channel routing progranl, CROUT. 4 subprogram, NET-PLOT, was used to report a schemdtic layout result, and another subprogram, NETCIF was used to with a full-fledged final layout representation in GIF, A test run for realizing a dynamicmaster-slave D flip-flop with set/reset using primitive cells was shown to take 4 CPU seconds on VAX 11/780.
