  • We have development the steering angle sensor using not only detecting parts but also integrating technique with semiconductors for automobile applications. The performance design and analysis of the steering angle sensor for intelligent vehicles is complicated due to variety of parameters. In this study, the performance characteristics of the angle sensor were analyzed using test rig. By means of magnetic induction technique, these new the steering angle sensors showed excellent magnetic characteristics. The detection range of steering angle sensor obtained was ${\pm}800^{\circ}$, the maximum non-linearity is 0.744% Full Span and the temperature range was $-40^{\circ}C{\sim}+125^{\circ}C$. With this conclusive, the inductive angle sensor was quite satisfactory for many applications in intelligent vehicles.

  • In the 2-mass system with flexible shaft, a torsional vibration is often generated because of the elastic elements in torque transmission as the newly required speed response which is very close to the primary resonant frequency. This vibration makes it difficult to achieve quick responses of speed and disturbance rejection. In this paper, 2-mass system is designed by using pole placement based on optimal control theory fur fast speed response and torsional vibration elimination and using neural network for disturbance rejection in particular. The simulation results show that the proposed controller based on neural network and full state feedback controller has better performance than 려ll state feedback controller, especially fur disturbance rejection.

  • It is expected that per-user customized services are widely used in next generation Personal Communication Network. To provide personalized services for each call, per-user service profiles are frequently referenced and signaling traffic is considerably large. Since the service calls are requested from the places where user stays, we can expect that the traffic is localized. In this paper, we propose a new service profile replication scheme, named Follow-Me Replication with local Anchor (FMRA). By replicating user's service profile in a user-specific location area, local anchor of each region, the signaling traffic for call and mobility can be distributed to local network. We compared the performance of the FMRA with two typical schemes: Intelligent Network-based !Central scheme and IMT-2000 based full replication scheme, as we refer it to Follow-Me Replication Unconditional (FMRU). Performance results indicate that FMRA lies between Central and FMRU schemes according to call to mobility ratio, and we identified the efficient ranges of CMR for FMRA depending on the various network parameters.

  • High resolution field emission dispplay(FED) devices of 5 inch diagonal in size are fully developped for the applications of near-future flat ppanel dispplays. Under the unique gate-switching drive scheme electron trajectory pprofiles are simulated and tested by considering leakage effects of each ppixel. Uniquely-pprinted sppacer with high asppect ratio are fabricated on real ITO glass for high vacuum ppackaging. In addition new gas aging scheme of stabilizing field emitting array are extensively investigated during the sealing and exhausting pprocess in order to pprevent oxidation effects on the micro tipp. Finally fulll color images of 64 gray scale will be demonstrated.

  • Laminar film condensation of a saturated pure vapor in forced flow over a flat plate is analyzed as boundary layer solutions. Similarity solutions for some real fluids are presented as a function of modified Jakob number (C$\_$pι/ ΔΤ/Prh$\_$fg/) with property ratio (No Abstract.see full/text) and Pγ as parameters and compared with approximate solutions which were obtained from energy and momentum equations without convection and inertia terms in liquid flow. Approximate solutions agree well with the similarity solutions when the values of modified Jakob number are less then 0.1 near 1 atmospheric pressure.

  • The objective of this study is to estimate the feasibility of X-ray diffraction method application for fatigue life assessment of the high-temperature pipeline steel such as main steam pipe, reheater pipe and header etc. in power plant. In this study, X-ray diffraction tests using various types of specimen simulated low cycle fatigue damage were performed in order to analyze fatigue properties when fatigue damage conditions become various stages such as 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 of fatigue life, respectively. As a result of X-ray diffraction tests for specimens simulated fatigue damages, we conformed that the variation of the full width at half maximum intensity decreased in proportion to the increase of fatigue life ratio.

  • A pulse transformer producing pulses with the peak power of 200-MW (400 kV 500 A at load side with $4.4{\mu}s$ flat-top) is required to drive the 80-MW pulsed klystron in the PLS linac. We have designed and manufactured the high power pulse transformer with 1 : 17 turn ratio. Its primary functions are to match the impedance of klystron tube to the modulators, and to provide step-up of the voltage. To obtain a fast rise time of the pulse voltage. Low leakage inductance and low distributed capacitance design is very important. In this paper, we discuss the equivalent circuit analysis of the pulse transformer, and present the full power performance test results of pulse transformer.

  • The input equivalent noise charge (ENC) of hydrogenated amorphous silicon radiation detector diodes was measured and analyzed. The noise sources of amorphous silicon diodes were analyzed into three sources; shot noise, flicker noise and thermal noise from the contact resistance. By comparing the measured ENC with the calculated signal charge in uniform generation case, the signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) for the sample diodes is estimated as a function of the detector bias and the shaping time of Gaussian pulse shaper. The maximum S/N occurred at the bias level just above the full depletion voltage for shaping time of 2∼3 ${\mu}$sec. The developed method is useful in optimum design or amorphous silicon p-i-n diodes for charged particulate radiation spectroscopy.

  • A laser welding has been made between sintered tip of Fe-Co-W and low carbon steel shank for the diamond saw blade. The welding characteristics and formation of defect has been investigated carefully for the weld fusion zone in different welding condition. Full penetration has been observed for the whole range of heat input investigated in the present work. Bead width and under-fill have been increased with the increase of heat input. With increasing of heat input small cavities were decreased while large cavities were increased. The ratio of total cavity area to the entire weld bead area was not changed significantly with change of heat input. Most of cavities were found near the tip, and supposed to be formed from the pore in the tip.

  • Although the initial cost of permanent-magnet linear synchronous motors is high owing to the installation of armatures over the full length of the transportation lines, linear motors are useful for transportation systems because of their high speed, acceleration, and deceleration. For these reasons, research into reducing the cost of linear motors is necessary, and a stationary distributed-armature system has been suggested for installing armatures in sections where acceleration and deceleration of the mover are required. However, each armature has ends that significantly increase the cogging force, resulting in the increase in the thrust ripple of the mover. Therefore, in order to improve the thrust ripple of the system, the present study aims to provide auxiliary teeth on both ends of the armature to achieve an optimal design through an analysis of the contribution ratio with respect to factors regarding the design of the experiment and the objective function.
