The study was conducted to investigate the effect of fruit bearing type with leafy (LY) and leafless (LS) fruits on fruit growth, sugar, and acid characteristics in satsuma mandarin. Fruit growth including fruit length, diameter, shape index (diameter/length), weight, and size distribution was not different between LY and LS fruits at ripening time. Total soluble solids (TSS) concentration of the fruit juice increased and acidity decreased continuously and then TSS:acidity ratio increased with fruit development from 100 days after anthesis to ripening time. Soluble sugar was continuously increased, whereas organic acid decreased. Theses tendencies were related to the increase of sucrose and decline of citric acid, respectively. However, there was no effect of fruit bearing type on TSS, acidity, and TSS:acidity ratio, and soluble sugar and organic acid composition in fruit juice. Also, photosynthetic rate and chlorophyll index with SPAD value were not different between leaves adjacent to LY and LS fruits. The results indicated that fruit growth and sugar and acid characteristics were not affected by fruit bearing type with leafy and leafless fruits in satsuma mandarin.

In this study, basic data were obtained to determine the optimal cultivation method to achieve stable fruiting and yield increase in "Cheonhwang" jujube trees. Accordingly, thefructification, fruit characteristics, and yield according to tree age were analyzed. The mean (and range of) tree height, crown area, stem diameter near the root, clear stem length, number of main branches, and distance between main branches were 235.6 (217.4-253.8) cm, 3.5 (3.1-4.1) m2, 5.5 (4.0-7.1) cm, 70.6 (66.2-72.7) cm, 9.7 (8.6-10.5), and 10.4 (7.9-14.2) cm, respectively. Correlationanalysis results indicated that tree age was positively correlated with crown area, stem diameter near the root, and clear stem length but not with the number of main branches. The mean number (and range) of fruit per fruit-bearing mother shoot and tree were 18.3 (16.7-18.3) and 170.7 (157.9-178.3), respectively. Tree age was not significantlycorrelated with fruiting characteristics (i.e., the numbers of fruit-bearing mother shoots per main branch, fruit-bearing shoots per fruit-bearing mother shoot, fruit per fruit-bearing shoot, and fruit per tree). Given that the shape of jujube trees is constantly managed according to the growing area and greenhouse type, the tree growth characteristics were more affected by tree management techniques than by tree age. The mean (and range of) fruit weight, fruit hardness, and soluble solid content were 28.6 (27.7-30.3) g, 29.4 (28.5-30.4) N, and 20.4 (19.3-21.0) °brix, respectively, and these fruit characteristics were not significantly correlated with tree age.The average yield per tree of the 'Cheonhwang' jujube cultivar was 4.9 (4.8-5.0) kg, which was not significantly correlated with tree age.
The fructification characteristics, fruit quality, and yield of the 'Hwangsil' jujube tree were analyzed at various stages of growth age (3-8 years old) to obtain basic data for developing high-quality jujube production technology. The average height, crown area, stem diameter near the root, stem clear length, the number of the main branches, and the distance between any two main branches were 230.8 cm (224.4~247.2 cm), 3.0 m2 (2.1~3.8m2), 4.8 cm (2.4~6.2 cm), 69.1 cm (46.6~78.0 cm), 12.9 (8.6~19.6), and 8.1 cm (7.4~9.0 cm), respectively. Tree age was positively correlated with the crown area, stem diameter near the root, but stem clear length negatively correlated with the number of main branches. The average number of fruits per mother bearing shoot and tree was 20.0 (14.3~26.3) and 302.8 (257.3~373.5), respectively. There was no correlation between tree age and fructification characteristics, such as the number of fruit-bearing mother shoots per the main branch, the number of fruit-bearing shoots per fruit-bearing mother shoot, and the number of fruits per fruit-bearing shoot. Since the shape of the jujube tree is constantly managed based onthe growing area and type of greenhouse where the tree grown. The average fruit weight, fruit hardness, and soluble solid content were 24.2 g (22.4~26.8 g), 28.4 N (27.3~30.0 N), and 19.0% (17.1~19.8%), respectively, with no correlation between the tree age and fruit quality. The average yield was 7.4 kg per tree (5.7~9.1 kg), with significantly high quantities were produced in six and seven years old trees.
'Gangha' is new strawberry ($Fragaria{\times}ananassa$ Duch.) cultivar, which was released by National Institute of Highland Agriculture, RDA, in 2008. In 2004, this cultivar was originated from a cross between 'Samahberi' and 'Elan' and showed excellent ever-bearing characteristics including continuous flowering habit, high yield under long-day and high temperature condition. It was named 'Saebong No.2' after examining its characteristic and productivity in summer culture from 2006 to 2007. Again, after two regional adaptability tests in 2008, 'Gangha' was selected as an elite cultivar. The general characteristics of 'Gangha' include semi-spreading type, middle vigor, elliptic leaf, and long cluster in growth. The fruit shape is oval and fruit color is red. Fruit quality had 1ow activity, hardness but high soluble solids contents. This average fruit weight of 'Gangha' is about 12.0 g and the marketable yield is relatively high because of more flower cluster appearance. It is resistant against powdery mildew, anthracnose, and fusarium wilt. 'Gangha' is suitable for summer culture using domestic consumption because it is shows continuous flowering habit, high yield, and fruit quality under long-day and high temperature condition.

A method for rapid propagation of mature Jack fruit was developed. Four types of explants (mature embryos, apical meristems of young seedlings, apices from mature plants and nodal segments) were used. It has been found 88% of young apical meristems produced shoots in Campbell and Durzan (CD) medium compared to 60% in Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium. Only 1/3 of them produced multiple shoots. Shoot initiation from nodal segments was very rare. Mature apices produced callus. Although removal of the sheathing cover around mature buds enhanced the shoot initiation but success rate was low in growth regulator free medium. Embryos respond to the CD medium but not to the MS medium. Embryos from seeds soaked in water for 24 hours produced shoots after 8 weeks of incubation and the success rate was 70% while embryos from dry seeds only produced roots. There was no significant effect of cold storage (refrigeration) for 7 days on shoot initiation from mature embryos (65%) but the ability for shoot induction declines with storage time (55% after 21 days of cold storage). Mature axillary buds were established in Modified Campbell and Durzan (CD) medium supplemented with 0.5mg/1 and IBA. There was a significant difference in the growth performance of shoots according to the period of the year in which explants were collected. Highest (60%) was observed in November-January period. It was only 30% when the explants were collected in February-April or May-July and decreased to 20% in August-October. The shoots produced in November-January showed a higher vigor than those produced in other months. Since Jak fruit show seasonal changes in fruit bearing and shedding of leaves, it can be suggested that the difference in growth performances of tissues cultured in artificial culture media would have been affected by endogenous rhythms.

This study was conducted on cultivation farms in the Gimcheon area, which is the main production area of walnuts, in order to compare and analyze the yield and fruit quality of walnut trees (Juglans sinensis Dode) derived from seedlings. The official trees were classified into nine classes from 10 to 60 years old, and a total of 135 trees were selected, with 15 trees selected for each grade. The growth and fruit characteristics for each age group were then examined. The average tree height was 10.3 m, and the average crown area was 63.7 ㎡. The average number of fruit settings per tree was 573.1, with the largest number of walnuts per tree at 35 years (974.0 walnuts), and the lowest walnuts per tree at 10 years (124.7 walnuts). In addition, the number of fruit settings per bearing mother branch in 35 year old trees was the highest at 3.1. The average weight for each fruit type was found to be 58.7 ± 4.0 g of walnuts in green peel, 10.5 ± 0.5 g of dried shell walnuts, and 4.9 ± 0.2 g of walnuts, respectively. The average yield by fruit type was 32.5 ± 13.8 kg of walnuts in green peel, 5.9 ± 2.5 kg of dried shell walnut, and 2.8 ± 1.2 kg of walnuts. The yield was positively correlated with the crown area, the number of fruits setting per bearing mother branch, and the number of fruits setting per 1 ㎥. The formula used to estimate the yield per tree by age was calculated as y = 8993.9 ln (tree age-9) 8230.3, R2 = 0.8531 (walnut in green peel) and y = 1647.1 ln (tree age-9) 1442.1, R2 = 0.8527 (dried shell walnut).

'Gwanha' is new strawberry (Fragaria ${\times}$ ananassa Duch.) cultivar, which was released by Highland Agriculture Research Center, Rural Development Administration, in 2011. In 2007, this cultivar was originated from a cross between 'Sucambodiaberry' and 'Selva' that showed excellent ever-bearing characteristics including continuous pink flowering habit under long-day and high temperature condition. It was named 'Saebong No.4' after examining its characteristic and productivity in summer culture from 2009 to 2011. After characteristic and productivity test in 2011, 'Gwanha' was selected as an elite cultivar. The general characteristics of 'Gwanha' include spreading type, middle vigor, elliptic leaf, and long cluster in growth. The fruit shape is wedge, and the red fruit is edible and unique among the domestic ornamental strawberry cultivars. Flower color of 'Gwanha' is pink, and flower cluster is more appearance than 'Pinkpanda'. The average fruit weight of 'Gwanha' is about 7.8 g and the marketable yield is relatively low because of low marketable rate. It is resistant against fusarium wilt. 'Gwanha' is suitable for four season cultivation as an ornamental strawberry cultivar because it shows continuous flowering habit under long-day and high temperature condition.
Objective : To investigate the effect between Fructus Immaturus Ponciri (FIP, the immature fruit of Poncirus trifoliata) and Fructus Ponciri (FP, the ripe fruit of Poncirus trifoliata) on mast cell-mediated immediate-type allergic reactions. Methods : We performed anaphylactic reaction, histamine release, cAMP, $TNF-{\alpha}$, IgE. Results : The aqueous extract of FIP dose-dependently inhibited systemic and local allergic reaction was induced by compound 48/80 or anti-dinitrophenyl (DNP) IgE in a murine model. FIP also significantly inhibited mast cell-dependent ear swelling response induced by topical application of compound 48/80. When mice were orally pretreated with FIP, the plasma histamine levels were reduced in a dose-dependent manner. FIP dose-dependently inhibited histamine release from the rat peritoneal mast cells (RPMCs) was activated by compound 48/80 or anti-DNP IgE. The level of cAMP in RPMCs, when FIP was added, increased compared with that of a normal or control. In addition, FIP had a significant inhibitory effect on anti-DNP IgE-induced tumor necrosis factor-a ($TNF-{\alpha}$) production from the RPMCs and IgE produced by lipopolysaccharide-stimulated murine whole spleen cells or U266B1 as human IgE-bearing B cells. However, FP showed the lower inhibition rate than those of FIP in above all allergic reactions. Conclusion : These data have important implications for our understanding of the clinical effects of FIP and FP on allergic diseases, and FIP is more effective than FP on the allergic reaction.

'Jangha' is a new strawberry (Fragaria ${\times}$ ananassa Duch.) cultivar, which was released by the Highland Agriculture Research Institute in 2014. The 'Jangha' cultivar originated in 2008 from a cross between 'Goha' and 'Elsinore' that showed excellent ever-bearing characteristics, including continuous flowering habit and high soluble-solids contents under long-day and high temperature conditions. This cultivar was initially named 'Saebong No. 6' after examining its characteristics and productivity in summer culture from 2010 to 2012. After two regional adaptability tests in 2013-2014, 'Jangha' was selected from Saebong No. 6 as an elite cultivar. The general characteristics of 'Jangha' include semi-spreading type, elliptical leaves, and moderately vigorous growth. The fruit are conical in shape, and red in color. 'Jangha' plants have 21.4 leaves, 55.8 fewer than 'Flamenco' plants. The soluble-solids content of 'Jangha' was 8.9%, which was 1.2% higher than that of 'Flamenco'. The average fruit weight of 'Jangha' was about 11.7g and the marketable yield was $19,013kg{\cdot}ha^{-1}$, 141% higher than 'Flamenco'. 'Jangha' is suitable for summer season cultivation as a high soluble solids contents cultivar, because it shows continuous flowering habit under long-day and high temperature conditions.
