Three methods of nozzle flow analysis, frozen-equilibrium, shifting-equilibrium and non-equilibrium approaches, were used to rocket nozzle flow, those were coupled with the methods of computational fluid dynamics code. For a design of high temperature rocket nozzle, chemical equilibrium analysis which shares the same numerical characteristics with frozen flow analysis can be an efficient design tool for predicting maximum thermodynamic performance of the nozzle. Frozen fluid analysis presents the minimum performance of the nozzle because of no consideration for the energy recovery. On the other hand, the case of chemical-equilibrium analysis is able to forecast the maximum performance of the nozzle due to consideration for the energy recovery that is produced for the fast reaction velocity compared with velocity of moving fluid. In this study, using the chemical equilibrium flow analysis code that is combined the modified frozen-equilibrium and the chemical-equilibrium. In order to understand the thermochemical characteristic components and the accompanying energy recovery, shifting-equilibrium flow analysis was carried out for the 30 $ton_f$-class KARI liquid rocket engine nozzle together with frozen flow. The performance evaluation based on the 30 $ton_f$-class KARI LRE nozzle flow analyses will provide an understanding of the thermochemical process in the nozzle and performances of nozzle.

This experiment was carried out to investigate the renditions to maintain good post-thaw motility and viability of canine spermatozoa when the semen was frozen using methanol. The semen from two male dogs which had been proven to be fertile in the previous one year was treated with different compositions of semen diluent and was frozen at different freezing temperatures, When canine semen was frozen at-2$0^{\circ}C$, -6$0^{\circ}C$, or -8$0^{\circ}C$, the spermatozoa frozen and stored at -2$0^{\circ}C$ showed very low post-thaw motility and viability from day 2 to 7 and showed no viability since day 15 after freezing. The spermatozoa frozen and stored at -6$0^{\circ}C$ or -8$0^{\circ}C$ showed higher post-thaw motility and viability on day 2, 1, 15 and 30 after freezing than that frozen and stored at-2$0^{\circ}C$(p<0.01), with no difference between two groups. Among different composition groups of the semen diluents of control(tris + egg yolk + glycerol), egg yolk-free, 히ycerol-free, and tris-free, Prior to freezing, the egg yolk-free diluent showed significantly love. motility and viability than the other diluents(p<0.05). On each thawing day (from day 2 to 15 after freezing), control group showed considerably higher motility and viability than the other groups(p<0.01). The canine spermatozoa frozen and stored at -6$0^{\circ}C$ and -8$0^{\circ}C$ showed gradual decrease of motility from day 2 to 30 after freezing and the spermatozoa of these two groups thawed on day 30 showed considerably love. motility than those thawed on day 2 after freezing, respectively(p<0.01). These results indicate that the freezing temperature of either -6$0^{\circ}C$ or -8$0^{\circ}C$ can be applicable to the freezing method using methanol and also all of the components of the semen diluent including cryoprotectant, buffer and cold-shock buffer are very important to maintain motility and viability of canine spermatozoa in the freezing and thawing procedure.
Deproteinization has been recognized as a prerequisite for amino acid analysis of plasma samples. For plasma stored at room temperature, delaying deproteinization for 30, 60 or 120 minutes did not result in significant changes in the mean CV (coefficient of variation), which ranged from 4.4 to 5.6%. However the mean CV of aspartic acid, ${\alpha}$-aminoadipic acid, alanine and lysine was about 10%. When the plasma was stored frozen at -20${^{\circ}C}$, the CV was increased at 0 and 120 minutes after thawing, to 12.4% (range, 4.1 to 35.3%) and 8.0% (2.5 to 30.7%), respectively. The concentrations in plasma during storage at room temperature of all the amino acids analyzed showed significant changes. In plasma stored for 30 minutes at room temperature, 17 amino acids increased in concentrations and two decreased. Extending this period to 60 or 120 minutes increased the instability as compare to the reference group. Storing plasma at -20${^{\circ}C}$ for 2 weeks resulted in significantly greater changes in the amino acid concentrations than at room temperature. On extending the storage time at room temperature, after thawing, to 30, 60, and 120 minutes, 21, 20, and all 22 amino acids respectively changed significantly (p<0.01). The present study indicates that methodological errors occur in the concentrations determined for all amino acids when plasma is left at room temperature. The storage of frozen non-deproteinized plasma accompanied more significant changes in most amino acid concentrations and thus should be avoided. Deproteinization should be performed as soon as possible after plasma collection.
Heat stress results in fatigue, a decline in strength, alertness., and mental capacity. The problem is compounded when high humidity exists. To help relieve worker heat stress, many types of cooling units are marketed. While workers may experience some cooling, critical body core temperatures often continue to elevate. This study was designed to find the effects of three kinds of cooling vest with portable frozen gel strips on thermophysiological parameters and on temperature and humidity within clothing. The heart rate, rectal, and skin temperature as well as sweat rate and clothing microclimate were measured during 80 min in 5 healthy males. Inquiries were also made into the subjective rating thermal, humidity comfort, and fatigue sensations. The main findings in our experiments are as follows: (a) Physiological parameters such as rectal temperature was the lowest in garb A1, intermediate in garb A, and the highest in garb A2 throughout the experiment. And mean skin temperature was the lowest in garb A, intermediate in garb A1, and the highest in garb A2; (b) Temperature and humidity within clothing (back) were garb in Al, intermediate in garb A, and the highest in garb A2. But the temperature and humidity within clothing (chest) were garb in A, intermediate in garb A1, and the highest in garb A2; (c) Most participants (4 out of 5 persons) answered that they felt more comfortable and fatigueless in garb A1 than in garb A and A2. It is concluded that local cooling in garb A1 of the upper torso could physiological reduce the thermal strain in participants wearing cooling vest.
Objective: This study evaluated the effects of temperature and storage time on the quality and DNA integrity of freeze-dried sperm from individuals with normozoospermia. Methods: Normal sperm samples from 15 men aged 24 to 40 years were studied. Each sample was divided into six groups: fresh, freezing (frozen in liquid nitrogen), freeze-dried then preserved at room temperature for 1 month (FD-1m-RT), freeze-dried then preserved at room temperature for 2 months (FD-2m-RT), freeze-dried then preserved at 4 ℃ for 1 month (FD-1m-4 ℃), and freeze-dried then preserved at 4 ℃ for 2 months (FD-2m-4 ℃). The morphology, progressive motility, vitality, and DNA integrity of the sperm were evaluated in all groups. Results: In all freeze-dried groups, sperm cells were immotile after rehydration. The freeze-dried groups also showed significantly less sperm vitality than the fresh and frozen groups. Significantly more morphological sperm abnormalities were found in the freeze-dried groups, but freeze-drying did not lead to a significantly higher DNA fragmentation index (DFI). The DFI was significantly higher in the FD-2m-RT group than in the other freeze-dried groups. Conclusion: The freeze-drying method preserved the integrity of sperm DNA. The temperature and duration of storage were also identified as factors that influenced the DFI. Accordingly, more research is needed on ways to improve sperm quality in the freeze-drying process.

In this study, the quality characteristics due to the influence of various thawing methods on electro-magnetic and air blast frozen beef were examined. The loin and round of second grade Hanwoo were sliced into 5-7 cm thickness and packed with aerobic packaging. The packaged beef samples, which were frozen by air blast freezing at $-45^{\circ}C$ and electro-magnetic freezing at $-55^{\circ}C$, were thawed by 4 thawing methods with refrigeration ($4{\pm}1^{\circ}C$), room temperature (RT, $25^{\circ}C$), cold water ($15^{\circ}C$), and microwave (2450 MHz). These samples were thawed to the point, which were core temperature reached $0^{\circ}C$. Analyses were carried out to determine drip and cooking loss, water holding capacity (WHC), moisture contents and sensory evaluation. Frozen beef thawed by microwave indicated a lower drip loss (0.66-2.01%) than the other thawing methods (0.80-2.50%). Cooking loss after electro-magnetic freezing indicated 52.0% by microwave thawing for round compared with 41.8% by refrigeration, 50.1% by RT, and 50.8% by cold water. WHC thawing by microwave with electro-magnetic freezing didn't showed any difference depending on the thawing methods, while moisture contents was higher thawing by microwave with electro-magnetic freezing than refrigeration (71.9%), RT (75.0%), and cold water (74.9%) for round. The texture of sensory evaluation for round thawed by microwave result was the highest than refrigeration (4.7 point), RT (6.4 point) and cold water (6.6 point), while sensory evaluation was no significant difference. Therefore, it was shown that microwave thawing is an appropriate way to reduce the deterioration of meat quality due to freezing.
We aimed to determine the quality indicators for quality prediction of frozen green pumpkin in distribution. Freshly harvested green pumpkin slices were blanched under optimal conditions (confirmed in a preliminary experiment), quick-frozen at $-40^{\circ}C$ for 24 h, and stored at 0, -5, -15, and $-25^{\circ}C$. The correlation between each quality characteristic and the sensory preference rate was analyzed. There was a significant correlation between storage temperature-related drip rate and preference rate across all temperatures, except at$-25^{\circ}C$. Hunter values, a and b, showed relatively high correlation coefficient values at -5, -15, and $-25^{\circ}C$. Therefore, a change in the Hunter values should be considered when storing green pumpkin, because of their significant correlation with changes in the sensory preference and drip rates. Furthermore, they should be applied as quality indicators for the quality prediction of frozen green pumpkin in distribution.
Changes in quality during frozen storage of meat with thermal equalized freezing and various freezing methods were investigated. When beef were frozen at freezing rate of $0.39{\sim}0.66\;cm/h$, average diameter of ice crystal were about $30{\sim}50\;{\mu}m$ and showed broken tissues or irregular cracks. At freezing velocity of $1.14{\sim}2.26\;cm/h$, ice crystals of about $10{\sim}30\;{\mu}m$ was formed mainly inside or between fiber and slight destruction of tissues was occurred. The average diameter (D) of the ice crystals were related to the characteristic freezing time $(t_c)$ by the equation: $D({\mu}m)=4.089+26.88logt_c\;(r^2=0.913)$. Beef with still-air freezing showed higher drip loss than methods of immersion and thermal equalized freezing. Also, drip loss of pork was relatively lower than beef and showed highest value to 7.39% during storage on 40 days at air-blast freezing method. No apparent change of pH during storage of frozen beef and pork by freezing methods were detected. However, least changes for sample with thermal equalized freezing was found compare to sample with still-air and air blast freezing in VBN and TBA value. The fluctuation of frozen storage temperature did not cause noticeable changes on pH and water content. However, drip loss, VBN and TBA values were increased slowly as frequency of fluctuation increased.

Processing fresh produce into fresh-cut products increases the risk of bacterial growth and contamination by breaking the exterior barrier of produce. Our objective in this study was to develop predictive models of Listeria monocytogenes in the fresh-cut salad, fresh-cut pineapple, and frozen mango. Predictive growth and survival models were developed to predict the change of L. monocytogenes populations in the fresh-cut salad (4, 10, 12, 13, 17, 25, and 36℃), fresh-cut pineapple (4, 10, 17, 25, 30, and 36℃), and frozen mango (-2, -10 and -18℃) as a function of temperature. The growth of L. monocytogenes in fresh-cut salad and pineapple was observed at above 13℃ and 10℃, respectively. The growth of L. monocytogenes in pineapple was faster than in salad. The delta value of L. monocytogenes in frozen mango increased as the storage temperature decreased. The results indicate that L. monocytogenes behave differently according to the physicochemical properties of fresh-cut fruits and vegetables. Since L. monocytogenes grow and survive well in refrigerated and frozen conditions, management programs and preventive controls for the processing of fresh-cut produce should be effectively implemented to enhance the safety of fresh-cut fruits and vegetables at retail markets.

Rheological properties of rehydrated suspensions of two kinds of freeze dried Kochujang powders, processed at different freezing rates, were compared with raw Kochujang using Brookfield wide-gap rotational viscometer at $25^{\circ}C-60^{\circ}C$. Shear rates ranged from $0.1965\;sec^{-1}$ to $1.9650\;sec^{-1}$ and solid content ranged from 47% to 56%. Rehydrated suspensions of quickly frozen Kochujang powder and slowly frozen Kochujang powder, and raw Kochujang exhibited pseudoplastic behaviors with yield stress and presented thixotropic properties which followed the second-order kinetic behavior proposed by Tiu. Suspensions of Kochujang powders exhibited considerably higher decaying rates than raw Kochujang. The dependency of the equilibrium structure parameter on the shear rate was weak, and there were no significant differences among the values of structure parameters of three samples. The temperature dependency of the apparent viscosity of Kochujang suspension was fully expressed by Arrhenius equation and activation energies of suspensions of quickly frozen Kochujang powder and slowly frozen Kochujang powder, and raw Kochujang were 2.21, 2.18, and 2.32 Kcal/g.mole respectively. Consistency indices of three samples increased with solid content and decreased with temperature. Flow behavior indices of three samples showed no considerable dependency on the temperature and solid content. There were no significant differences in the rheological properties between two Kochujang powders.
