마찰 계수와 점성 계수 모델이 단열 모세관 유동에 미치는 영향 평가 (An Assessment of Friction Factor and Viscosity Models for Predicting the Refrigerant Characteristics in Adiabatic Capillary Tubes)

  • Capillary tubes are widely used as expansion device in small refrigeration systems. The refrigerant flowing in the capillary tube experiences frictional and accelerational head losses and flashing simultaneously. In this paper flow characteristics of adiabatic capillary tubes were simulated with various friction factor models, two-phase viscosity models, and two-phase frictional multiplier models. The predicted pressure distribution and mass flow rate are compared with experimental data reported in literature. It is confirmed that the predicting accuracy with homogeneous model can be improved by employing suitable correlations of friction factor, two-phase viscosity and two-phase frictional multiplier.

Power acquisition and thermal management systems requires the through understanding of the flow hydrodynamic. the differences and similarities between the two-phase flow characteristics of two-Phase flow influenced by the gravity levels. The data of flow Patterns, void fraction, frictional pressure drop associated with their characteristics were obtained at $\mu\textrm{g}$. 1g and 2g. Flow patterns and void fraction data obtained at three gravity levels were compared with each other and previous models and correlations.

  • There is a need for fundamental understanding of biotribological characteristics of various biomaterials sliding against biological materials in order to develop a moving mechanism of medical microsystems having high energy efficiency. A special experimental equipment was designed and built to study the frictional behavior of various biomaterials sliding against a small intestine specimen of a pig. Friction experiments for six biomaterials were performed. Particularly, the effects of load and speed on frictional behavior were investigated. The results of this work will aid in the development of the actuator for a self-propelling micro-endoscope.

  • The frictional and wear characteristics of non-asbestos friction materials made of four different fibers (carbon, aramid, ceramic and glass) have been investigated at elevated temperature using High Frequency Friction Tester. On the basis of the experimental results, friction and wear phenomena of four different non-asbestos fibers were caused by lattice layer film of carbon, polymeric transfer film of aramid, abrasion of ceramic and adhesion of glass fiber under each contact junction. The surface analysis of the worn specimens and counter parts after tests were observed using Scanning Electron Microscope and Optical Microscope.

  • Using a test apparatus developed Lrt the laboratory, frictional characteristics of natural rubbers have been analyzed by experimental study. Friction coefficient has been calculated from the measured normal force and friction force under various speeds, loads, and temperatures. The relations between the various operating conditions and friction coefficients have been verified. Especially, drag friction due to the visco-elastic behavior of the rubber has been observed in this analysis.

  • The effects of iron content in coated layer, surface roughness and lubricants on the formability of commercial Zn-Fe alloy electroplated steel sheets used for automotive bodies were investigated. The higher the iron content in deposit, the lower the friction coefficient of Zn-Fe alloy electroplated steel sheets. The surface roughness of coated layer hardly influenced the frictional characteristics. The formability of Zn-Fe alloy electroplated steel sheets was found to be more affected by the lubricant than by iron content in Zn-Fe alloy electrodeposit.

  • The method which makes the soft ground reinforced by using the geogrid, a kind of geosynthetics has been getting popular and its usefulness also has been increased due to reduction in costs, ease of construction and great exterior view, But the study on the frictional characteristics, which is the important factor in design, between reinforcement and soil is insufficient. In this study, compaction degrees were considered through large-scale pullout tests. As a part of studying on estimation of pullout frictional characteristics between soil and geosynthetics, pullout tests were peformed and from the result of pullout tests, pullout frictional parameters between soil and geosynthetics were obtained and pullout behaviors were learned.

  • Examined in this paper, is the effect of B$_{4}$C addition on the frictional characteristics of Cu-Sn based sintered friction materials. For the specimens 1wt%, 2wt% and 4wt% of B$_{4}$C were added into the reference material. A pin-on-disk type friction tester was used to,measure the friction torque with respect to the surface temperature and sliding distance. Wear mechanism of each specimen is analyzed in the view point of the oxide film formation. The specimen containing 4wt% of B$_{4}$C showed stable friction and low wear since the oxide film was sustained up to higher surface temperature ranges.

Frictional Characteristics of the Lubricants Formulated with Non-Conventional Base Stocks

  • Use of high-quality basestocks is increasing to produce high-performance lubricants. However, their tribological characteristics have not been understood clearly yet. In this study, a newly developed basestock from a fuel hydrocracker and a poly-alpha-olefin are selected and investigated on the properties of lubricants formulated with them. The Lubricants are prepared by blending the basestocks with typical additives such as a zinc dialkyldithiophosphate, a dispersant, a detergent and a dispersant-inhibitor package. Frictional and wear-preventing properties are investigated using an oscillating-type wear-testing machine. The contact is a ball-on-disk mode and the testing temperature is varied from room temperature to 200$^{\circ}$C. The results show that their frictional property is varied significantly and that the non-conventional oils result in lower friction and lower wear compared with conventional lubricants, especially at the higher temperatures.
