  • For the environmental noises has various frequency spectrums and fluctuation characteristics. the dimensions of psychological influencing on persons IS also complex. Analyzing this complex-dimensional psychological factors and characteristics of them then developing the evaluation indexes which have a good correspondence are important for improvement of noise environment. To develop the effective evaluation procedures which reflect the psychological respects of persons, this study firstly we drove the psychological factors and classified the noises into several groups by their psychological response characteristics through the psycho-acoustical experiments using environmental noises. In addition, we analyzed the relationship between the various evaluation indexes, psychological factors and the noise groups, and then suggested several indexes for the simple and efficient psycho-acoustic evaluation.

  • This work presents a study on development of a practical and quantitative technique for assessment of the structural health condition by piezoelectric impedance-based technique associated with longitudinal wave propagation method. The bolt fastening condition is adjusted by torque wrench. In order to estimate the damage condition numerically, three damage indices, impedance peak frequency shift ${\Delta}F$ is proposed in this paper. Furthermore, an assessment method is described for estimation of the damage by using these three damage indices.

  • One of commercial rapid transits produces peculiar booming sound when passing through the slab-track tunnel. In order to analyze that tympanic membrane-pressing noise systematically, typical source-transfer path-response analysis was carried out. Considering the octave band of booming noise, work scope was confined to structure-borne noise analysis, especially the dynamic behaviour of railway tracks. Experimental modal analysis of railway tracks, composed of rail, rubber pad, sleeper, ballast, and ground were performed. The results shows that transversal bending modes of the rail are suspicious for the cause of the low band booming noise. Finite element analysis are made use of to match preceding experimental results, and plausible dynamic properties of track components are produced.

  • The vibration of rotor systems is caused by various factors, such as misalignment, unbalance, gear meshing, error of assembly, etc. Modal test and TDA/ODS analysis were done. The dynamic analysis of the armature was done with SAMCEF which is a commercial software for finite element and kinematic analysis. The transient response of the armature is calculated by the SAMCEF with the consideration of magnetic force and bearing stiffness, which are the essential elements for the design of high speed cutter. Main frequency of the vibration is due to the unbalance of the armature. The FEM analysis model considering unbalance and the high speed cutter have same vibration properties. The vibration sources of the high speed cutter is proved to be unbalance.

  • In the case of a precision equipment, it requires a vibration free environment to provide its proper function. Especially, lithography and inspection devices, which have sub-nanometer class high accuracy and resolution, have come to necessity for producing more improved giga class semiconductor wafers. This high technology equipments require very strict environmental vibration standard in proportion to the accuracy of the manufacturing, inspecting devices. The vibration criteria are usually obtained either by the real vibration exciting test on the equipment or by the analytical calculation. the former is accurate but requires a great deal of time and efforts while the latter lacks reliability. this paper proposes a new method to solve this problem at a time. the permissible vibration level to a precision equipment can be easily obtained by analyzing a process of Frequency Response Function. This paper also demonstrates its effectiveness by applying the proposed method to finding the vibration criteria of a Computer Hard Disk Drive by impact Test.

  • A method is presented for the vibration analysis of steam turbine-generator rotor system based on the component mode synthesis method. The motion of each component of the system is described by superposing constraint mode associated with boundary coordinates and constrained normal modes associated with internal coordinates. This method using real fixed-interface modes allows for significant reduction in system model size while retaining the essential dynamic characteristics of the lower modes. The capability of this method is demonstrated in the natural frequency and unbalance response analysis of the steam turbine-generator rotor system in which the dynamics of the pedestal is considered. The results by the present method are compared with finite element method and trnasfer matrix method in terms of the accuracy and computing time.

  • Based on a full layerwise displacement shell theory, the vibration and damping characteristics of cylindrical sandwiched panels with viscoelastic layers are investigated. The transverse shear deformation and the normal strain of the cylindrical hybrid panels are fully taken into account for the structural damping modelling. The present finite element model is formulated by using Hamilton's virtual work principle and the cylindrical curvature of hybrid panels is exactly modeled. Modal loss factors and frequency response functions are analyzed for various structural parameters of cylindrical sandwich panels. Present results show that the full layerwise finite element method can accurately predict the vibration and damping characteristics of the cylindrical hybrid panels with surface damping treatments and constrained layer damping.

  • This paper is concerned with the development of remote vibration measurement system using the internet. Recently, various techniques are developed based on the advance of the internet environment. In this study, we developed the remote vibration measurement system using the internet server programming technique, the client programming technique, the GPIB programming, and the A/D, D/A programming techniques. Hence, we can control the measurement devices remotely. The feasibility of the system is validated using the experimental setup. The output of the D/A is connected to the small exciter and the piezoceramic sensor is connected to the A/D port. By sending out the exciting signal to the structure, we can collect the response. The experiment shows that the proposed idea works well. Another experiment consists of the function generator and the low-pass filter circuit. The wave form, amplitude, and the frequency of the function generator is controlled by the GPIB program and the output of the circuit is collected by the A/D port. The output is then displayed in HTML format.

  • It is investigated that the characteristics of rotating cantilevered composite beam with a breathing crack. In the present study, the crack is modeled as a breathing crack which opens and closes with the motion of the unidirectional graphite-fiber reinforced polyimide beam. For the finite element analysis, the cracked element is modelled by the local flexibility matrix calculated on the basis of fracture mechanics using Castiligano theorem. Rotating beam is considered only transverse bending motion so that the element includes two degrees of freedom per node such as the transverse deflection and slope. The time history and frequency response function of the beam with a breathing crack are studied by Newmark direct time integration method and FFT(Fast Fourier Transform)simulation. Effects of various parameters such as the crack depths, crack locations, ply angles, volume fraction ratios, and rotating speeds of the beam are also studied. Numerical results indicate that it is more reliable to be modelled as a breathing crack than an open crack.
