동피복 Bi2223 초전도후막 합성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Fabrication of $Bi_{2}Sr_{2}Ca_{2}Cu_{3}O_{x}$ Superconductor Thick Films on Cu Substrates)

  • We carried out the experiments for fabricating $Bi_{2}Sr_{2}Ca_{2}Cu_{3}O_{x}$(Bi2223) superconductor thick films on Cu tapes. Cu-free (Bi,Pb)-Sr-Ca-0 powder mixtures were screen- printed on Cu tapes and heat-treated at 840-$860^{\circ}C$ for several minutes in air. Surface microstructures and phases of films were analyzed by XRD and optical microscope. The electric properties of superconducting films were examined by the four probe method. At heat-treatment temperature, the printing layers were in a partially molten state by liquid reaction between CuO in the oxidized copper tape and the precursors which were printed on Cu tapes. During the heat-treatment procedure, it is thought that Bi2223 superconducting particles nucleate at interfaces between Bi2212 phase and liquid.

  • The Physical and magnetic properties such as microstructure, permeability and power loss of Ni-Zn ferrite with composition of $Ni_{0.8}Zn_{0.2}Fe_2O_4$, were investigated as the function of $Bi_2O_3$ and CaO contents. The power loss increased in proportion to the amount of $Bi_2O_3$ up to 0.3 wt% but it decreased over than 0.3 wt% addition. The highest permeability of 134 was obtained to the specimen added 1.0 wt% $Bi_2O_3$ since $Bi_2O_3$ contents were strongly dominant to grain growth and size than that of CaO. $Bi_2O_3$ liquid phase created during sintering process promoted sintering and grain growth so that grain size and permeability increased compared to that of the specimens which were sintered with free-additive and CaO. Also, lots of pores existed in the specimen which was added $Bi_2O_3$ wt% with the biggest grain size.

Mg 합금의 발화 및 연소특성에 미치는 Ca 첨가의 영향 (The effect of Ca additions on the ignition and combustion behaviors of Mg alloys)

  • Mg 합금에서 Ca 첨가가 발화 및 연소 특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 주조 상태에서 순 Mg은 표면과 내부에 균열과 게재물들이 관찰되었지만 Ca이 첨가된 Mg-Ca 합금에서는 관찰되지 않았다. Mg 합금에 Ca가 첨가됨에 따라 1.5 wt%Ca까지는 발화 온도가 급격히 증가하다가 포화되는 경향을 보였다. 이러한 경향은 Mg-Ca 합금에서 Ca의 고용도와 관련이 있었다. Mg-Ca 합금의 연소 표면에 형성된 MgO 산화층이 발화와 연소를 억제하는 역할을 하였다.

냉각탑수 수질이 Ru/Ti 전극을 이용한 Legionella pneumophila 소독에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Water Quality of Cooling Tower on Legionella pneumophila Disinfection Using Ru/Ti Electrode)

  • This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of water quality of cooling tower on Legionella pneumophila disinfection using Ru/Ti electrode. The influences of parameters such as pH, turbidity, $CaCO_3$ and TOC were investigated using laboratory scale batch reactor. Oxidants such as free Cl, $ClO_2,\;H_2O_2\;and\;O_3$ were measured. The results showed that all of the water quality parameters of cooling tower had deteriorated disinfection of Legionella pneumophila. When the turbidity, $CaCO_3$ and TOC was increased, oxidants which was generated during electrolysis was decreased. pH, free Cl, $ClO_2\;and\;H_2O_2$ concentration were decreased with the increase of pH, whereas $O_3$ concentration was increased with the increase of pH. The order of effect of water quality on the disinfection performance for Legionella pneumophila was turbidity > $CaCO_3$ > TOC > pH. To obtain the safety standard (1000 CFU/L), the simultaneous increase current and NaCl dosage was needed.

Carbonation of Circulating Fluidized Bed Boiler Fly Ash Using Carbonate Liquids

  • In this study, unstable CaO was converted into a stable Ca compound by using carbonation in a circulating fluidized bed boiler of fly ash to confirm material usability as cement admixture; also undertaken was carbonation test and mortar to examine chemical and physical change by measuring absorption rate and compressive strength. To investigate the chemical properties of circulating fluidized bed boiler fly ash, XRD and TG-DTA were used to determine how the properties of the reaction product change quantitatively during carbonation. In order to stabilize CaO, carbonation of CaO is considered to be the most desirable process. This is because $CaCO_3$, which is a Ca compound, was produced by carbonate reaction of unstable CaO, and decrease of the absorption rate and improvement of the compressive strength were observed when the carbonated fly ash was replaced with cement.

Electrical Properties of (Ba,Ca)(Ti,Zr)O3 Ceramics for Bimorph-type Piezoelectric Actuator

  • In this study, lead-free $(Ba_{0.85}Ca_{0.15})(Ti_{1-x}Zr_x)O_3$ ceramics and a bimorph-type piezoelectric actuator were fabricated using the normal oxide-mixed sintering method, and their dielectric properties, microstructure, and displacement properties were investigated. From the results of X-ray diffraction, the pattern of the specimen has a pure perovskite structure. In addition, no secondary impurity phases were found. The excellent piezoelectric coefficient of $d_{33}=454pC/N$, the electromechanical coupling factor $k_p=0.51$, the dielectric constant ${\varepsilon}_r=3,657$, the mechanical quality factor $Q_m=239$, and $T_c$(Tetragonal-Cubic) =$90^{\circ}C$ were shown at x= 0.085. ${\Delta}k_p/k_p20^{\circ}C$ and ${\Delta}f_r/f_r20^{\circ}C$ showed the maximum value of -0.255 and 0.111 at $-20^{\circ}C$ and $80^{\circ}C$, respectively. The maximum total-displacement was $60{\mu}m$ under the input voltage of 50 V. As a result, it is considered that lead-free $(Ba_{0.85}Ca_{0.15})(Ti_{1-x}Zr_x)O_3$ ceramics is a promising candidate for piezoelectric actuator application for x= 0.085.

  • Bi$_{2}Sr_{2}CaCu_{2}O_{\delta}$ superconducting films were rapidly fabricated on copper tape by liquid reaction between a Cu-free precursor and Cu tape (LiReac-PreCu) method. Those thick films were well oriented along the c-axis. The precursor was made by melt-quenched technology using twin roller. The melt-quenched films were transparent and glossy yellow in appearance. These films which were the compostion of Bi$_2SrCaO_y$, Bi$_3Sr_2CaO_z$ were placed on copper tape and then heated at various temperatures for several minutes in air. They were analyzed using X-ray powder diffraction, SEM, a DC four-probe method. The mechanism of superconducting phase formation . from the melt-quenched precursor on Cu tape was studied

  • The objective of this study is to prepare lead-free thick film resistor (TFR) paste compatible with AlN substrate for hybrid microelectronics. For this purpose, CaO-ZnO-$B_2O_3-Al_2O_3-SiO_2$ glass system was chosen as a sintering aid of $RuO_2$. The effects of the weight ratio of CaO to ZnO in glass composition, the glass content and the sintering temperature on the electrical properties of TFR were investigated. $RuO_2$ as a conductive and glass powder were dispersed in an organic binder to obtain printable paste and then thick-film was formed by screen printing, followed by sintering at the range between $750^{\circ}C$ and $900^{\circ}C$ for 10 min with a heating rate of $50^{\circ}C$/min in an ambient atmosphere. The addition of ZnO to glass composition and sintering at higher temperature resulted in increasing sheet resistance and decreasing temperature coefficient of resistance. Using $RuO_2$-based resistor paste containing 40 wt%glass of CaO-20.5%ZnO-25%$B_2O_3$-7%$Al_2O_3$-15%$SiO_2$ composition, it is possible to produce thick film resistor on AlN substrate with sheet resistance of $10.6\Omega/\spuare$ and the temperature coefficient of resistance of 702ppm/$^{\circ}C$ after sintering at $850^{\circ}C$.

고화재 활용을 위한 베트남 CFBC 플라이애시의 물리적·화학적 특성 분석 (Analysis of Physical and Chemical Properties of CFBC Fly Ash in Vietnam for Solidification)

  • 베트남 CFBC 플라이애시는 CaO 성분이 높아 연약지반 개량을 위한 고화재로 활용 가능하지만 대부분 매립이나 폐기물로 처리되고 있는 실정이다. 플라이애시를 지반 개량용 고화재로 활용하기 위해서는 플라이애시의 성상과 특성을 정확히 파악해야한다. 본 연구에서는 베트남 플라이애시의 연약지반 고화재로의 활용성을 평가하기 위하여 CFBC 발전소 4개소에서 채취한 플라이애시를 대상으로 물리적, 화학적 특성분석을 위한 실내시험을 실시하였다. 물리적 특성 분석결과 4개소 시료 모두 고화재의 원료로서 재료적 활성도 및 연약지반 개량공사에 적합한 입도를 가지는 것으로 분석되었다. 화학적 특성 분석결과 1개소의 플라이애시는 Free-CaO 함량이 높아 연약지반 개량용 고화재로 활용이 가능할 것으로 분석되었다. 나머지 3개소의 플라이애시는 Free-CaO 함량이 낮아 고화재로 활용하기에 적합하지 않았다. 하지만 국내 일반 플라이애시와 유사한 화학조성을 가지고 있어 다양한 형태로 재활용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

  • In this paper, we evaluated the suitability of converter slag as concrete aggregate by measuring physical and chemical characteristics of converter slag. The converter slag mainly contains SiO₂and CaO as the chemical composition. The reaction with water and a little of free CaO in the slag causes slag's volume to expanse. Therefore, we used several aging method in order to decrease the characteristics of slag volume expansion. Then the compressive strength of concrete with the converter slag aggregate is measured.
