  • In this paper, we propose a block-based modularity architecture design method for distributed machine learning. The proposed architecture is a block-type module structure with various machine learning algorithms. It allows free expansion between block-type modules and allows multiple machine learning algorithms to be organically interlocked according to the situation. The architecture enables open data communication using the metadata query protocol. Also, the architecture makes it easy to implement an application service combining various edge computing devices by designing a communication method suitable for surrounding applications. To confirm the interlocking between the proposed block-type modules, we implemented a hardware-based modularity application system.

  • The aim of the Paper is to Obtain information about the flat covers and minimal flat resolutions of Artinian modules over a Noetherian ring. Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring and let A be an Artinian R-module. We prove that the flat cover of a is of the form $\prod_{p\epsilonAtt_R(A)}T-p$, where $Tp$ is the completion of a free R$_{p}$-module. Also, we construct a minimal flat resolution for R/xR-module 0: $_AX$ from a given minimal flat resolution of A, when n is a non-unit and non-zero divisor of R such that A = $\chiA$. This result leads to a description of the structure of a minimal flat resolution for ${H^n}_{\underline{m}}(R)$, nth local cohomology module of R with respect to the ideal $\underline{m}$, over a local Cohen-Macaulay ring (R, $\underline{m}$) of dimension n.

  • In this paper, we design a two-step scheduling algorithm to support multiple bandwidth allocation policies for upstream channel access in an Ethernet passive optical network. The proposed scheduling algorithm allows us a simultaneous approach for multiple access control policies: static bandwidth allocation for guaranteed bandwidth service and dynamic bandwidth allocation for on-demand, dynamic traffic services. In order to reduce the scheduling complexity, we separate the process of the transmission start- time decision from the process of grant generation. This technique does not require the timing information of other bandwidth allocation modules, so respective modules are free from a heavy amount of timing information or complex processing.

  • In this paper we study exponential growth of Betti numbers over artinian local rings. By the Change of Tor Formula the results in the paper extend to the asymptotic behavior of Betti numbers over Cohen-Macaulay local rings. Using the length function of an artinian ring we calculate an upper bound for the number of generators of modules, this is then used to maximize the number of generators of sygyzy modules. Finally, applying a filtration of an ideal, which we call a Loewy series of an ideal, we derive an invariant B(R) of an artinian local ring R, such that if B(R)>1, then the sequence $b^{R}$$_{i}$ (M) of Betti numbers is strictly increasing and has strong exponential growth for any finitely generated non-free R-module M (Theorem 2.7).).

  • A multi-purpose environmental monitoring system has been developed as a commercially available standard using the technique of hetero-core spliced fiber optic sensors, for the purposes of monitoring large-scale structures and preserving natural environments. The monitoring system has been tested and evaluated in a possible outdoor condition, in view of the full-scale operation at actual sites to be monitored. Additionally, the developed system in this work conveniently provides us with various options of sensor modules intended for monitoring such physical quantities as displacement, distortion, pressure, binary states, and liquid adhesion. Two channels of optical fiber line were monitored in each channel, three displacement sensor modules were connected in series, in order to examine the performance to a pseudo-cracking experiment in the outdoor situation and to clarify temperature influences an the system, in terms of the coupling of optical connectors and the OTDR stability. The results from the pseudo-cracking experiment agreed with the actual cracks, by means of calculation, based an the detected displacement values and their geometrical arrangement of the used sensor modules. The temperature change, ranging from 10 to $20^{\circ}C$ resulting from the 10-days free running operation, was found to influence the system stability of ${\pm}10{\mu}m$, primarily due to the coupling instability of the used optical connectors. It was found that fusion splicing, rather than the use of connectors, reduced the fluctuation dawn to ${\pm}2{\mu}m$. The specification and performance of various option modules have been demonstrated to show the capability of inspecting various physical quantities by use of the single system, which would be suitable for multi-purpose environmental monitoring.

  • We propose a protein function finding algorithm that is able to predict specific molecular function for unannotated proteins through domain analysis from protein-protein network. To do this, we first construct protein-protein interaction(PPI) network in Saccharomyces cerevisiae from MIPS databases. The PPI network(proteins; 3,637, interactions; 10,391) shows the characteristics of a scale-free network and a hierarchical network that proteins with a number of interactions occur in small and the inherent modularity of protein clusters. Protein-protein interaction databases obtained from a Y2H(Yeast Two Hybrid) screen or a composite data set include random false positives. To filter the database, we reconstruct the PPI networks based on the cellular localization. And then we analyze Hub proteins and the network structure in the reconstructed network and define structural modules from the network. We analyze protein domains from the structural modules and derive functional modules from them. From the derived functional modules with high certainty, we find tentative functions for unannotated proteins.

  • The soldering property of Pb-containing solder(Sn-Pb) and Pb-free solders(Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu and Sn-1.0Ag-0.7Cu-1.6Bi-0.2In) for solar combiner box module was compared. The solar combiner box module was composed of voltage and current detecting modules, diode modules, and other modules. In this study, solder paste printability, printing shape inspection, solder joint property, X-ray inspection, and shear force measurements were conducted. For optimization of Pb-free soldering process, step 1 and 2 were divided. In the step 1 process, the printability of Pb-containing and Pb-free solder alloys were estimated by using printing inspector. Then, the relationship between void percentages and shear force has been estimated. Overall, the property of Pb-containing solder was better than two Pb-free solders. In the step 2 process, the property of reflow soldering for the Pb-free solders was evaluated with different reflow peak temperatures. As the peak temperature of the reflow process gradually increased, the void percentage decreased by 2 to 4%, but the shear force did not significantly depend on the reflow peak temperature by a deviation of about 0.5 kgf. Among different surface finishes on PCB, ENIG surface finish was better than OSP and Pb-free solder surface finishes in terms of shear force. In the thermal shock reliability test of the solar combiner box module with a Pb-free solder and OSP surface finish, the change rate of electrical property of the module was almost unchanged within a 0.3% range and the module had a relatively good electrical property after 500 thermal shock cycles.

  • An A-module M is catenary if for each pair of prime submodules K and L of M with $K{\subset}L$ all saturated chains of prime submodules of M from K to L have a common finite length. We show that when A is a Noetherian domain, then every finitely generated A-module is catenary if and only if A is a Dedekind domain or a field. Moreover, a torsion-free divisible A-module M is catenary if and only if the vector space M over Q(A) (the field of fractions of A) is finite dimensional.

  • In order to minimize turnaround of machining in FMS lines, CAD/CAM/CAT integrated system called MascCAM was developed. Developing enhanced CAM and inspection modules in the MascCAM environment, 2D came, 2 $^{1}$2/ D prismatic parts and 3D free-formed surfaces were able to be automatically designed, manufactured and inspected on the machine tools by using AutoCAM and Z-map. Introducing Z-map technique, the MascCAM was able to be interfaceed with and CAD system. Developed QPPGT module generates a quick and fool-proof inspection work to users. A vertical and a horizontal machining center equipped with FANUC OMC were used for experiments. Performance of the system was confirmed by a large amount of experiments.
