In this study, we analyzed process numerically when a bogie frame skin is manufactured by applying resin transfer molding process using composite material instead of steel. Processing time was compared based on the various thickness of bogie frame skin and the weight variation of a skin was also considered. As a result, RTM processing time decreases and the weight of a bogie reduces as the thickness of frame skin increases with the assumption that fiber volume is constant inside the skin. By considering these results as the information to estimate the production cost, trade-off between two fields, processing time and structural properties, can be performed in design optimization to produce bogie frame.
In this paper, as one of these efforts for making the intelligent data mining system we propose the Associative frame of the memory according to the following three steps. First, the structured frame for performing the main brain function should be made. In this frame, the concepts of learning memory and episode memory are considered. Second, the learning mechanism for data acquisition and storing mechanism in the memory frame are provided. The obtained data are arranged and stored in the memory following the rules of the structured memory frame. Third, it is the last step of processing the inference and knowledge retrieval function using the stored knowledge in the associative memory frame. This system is applied to the area for estimating the purchasing degree from the type of customer's tastes, the pattern of commodities and the evaluation of a company.

In wireless communications environments, a link adaptation technique that selects the proper rate from among several transmission rates is adopted to cope with variations in channel status. In block coded modulation, the frame time and/or the block length can be adjusted to the channel status. A smaller frame time can cause inter-frame interference (IFI), however, a larger frame time can reduce the data rate. Therefore, frame time is the design factor decided by a tradeoff between performance and the data rate. This paper presents a method to determine the frame time based on the processing gain for the channel model, CM1~CM4, recommended by IEEE 802.15a. Also, a link adaptation technique for block coded modulation is proposed for efficient communications by varying the frame time and the block length. Through simulation, link adaptation can be carried out with a step size of 2~5 nsec in a frame time range of 14~ 50 nsec for channel models CM1~CM4.

For the effective use of salmon processing by-products, the food components of salmon frame muscle were investigated and compared with those of fillet muscle. The proximate composition of salmon frame muscle was 73.2 g/100 g muscle for the moisture, 76.9 g/100 g dry material for the protein, 15.7 g/100 g dry material for the lipid and 4.1 g/100 g dry material for the ash. pH and volatile basic nitrogen (VBN) content of salmon frame muscle were 6.63 and 16 mg/100 g, respectively. The proximate composition, pH and VBN of salmon frame muscles were similar to those of salmon fillet muscle. The Hunter values of salmon frame muscle were 55.34 for L value, 16.60 for a value, 19.99 for b value and 48.83 for ${\Delta}E$ value, which were different compared to the salmon fillet muscle. The trichloroacetic acid (TCA) soluble-N content of salmon frame muscle was 542 mg/100 g, which was lower than that of salmon fillet muscle. No difference was found in fatty acid composition, total amino acid, calcium, phosphorus contents and sensory evaluation between salmon frame muscle and salmon fillet muscle. These results suggested that muscle from salmon frame could be used as resources for seafood processing.

The traditional block-based motion compensation methods in frame rate up-conversion (FRUC) only use a single uniquely motion vector field. However, there will always be some mistakes in the motion vector field whether the advanced motion estimation (ME) and motion vector analysis (MA) algorithms are performed or not. Once the motion vector field has many mistakes, the quality of the interpolated frame is severely affected. In order to solve the problem, this paper proposes a novel joint overlapped block motion compensation method (8J-OBMC) which adopts motion vectors of the interpolated block and its 8-neighbor blocks to jointly interpolate the target block. Since the smoothness of motion filed makes the motion vectors of 8-neighbor blocks around the interpolated block quite close to the true motion vector of the interpolated block, the proposed compensation algorithm has the better fault-tolerant capability than traditional ones. Besides, the annoying blocking artifacts can also be effectively suppressed by using overlapped blocks. Experimental results show that the proposed method is not only robust to motion vectors estimated wrongly, but also can to reduce blocking artifacts in comparison with existing popular compensation methods.
Motion-compensated frame interpolation (MCFI) techniques in video signal processing have many application areas. Frame rate up-conversion (FRUC) or distributed video coding (DVC) technique needs an effective MCFI algorithm. For these applications, it is necessary to develop an effective post-processing technique to improve visual qualities or to reduce virtual channel noises, resulting in the reduced channel bit rate. This paper proposes a reliability evaluation method based on spatio-temporal characteristics for motion-compensated interpolated blocks. The proposed algorithm investigates the temporal matching characteristics for current frame and then is designed in such a way that it can measure temporal characteristics as well as the spatial ones. Through computer simulations, it is shown that the proposed method outperforms the conventional temporal matching method.

Emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and the Advanced Driver Assistant System (ADAS) often have image transmission functions with tough constraints, like low power and/or low delay, which require that they adopt line-based, low memory compression methods instead of existing frame-based image compression standards. Bit rate control in the conventional frame-based compression systems requires a lot of hardware resources when the scope of handled data falls at the frame level. On the other hand, attempts to reduce the heavy hardware resource requirement by focusing on line-level processing yield uneven image quality through the frame. In this paper, we propose a bit rate control that maintains consistency in image quality through the frame and improves the legibility of text regions. To find the line characteristics, the proposed bit rate control tests each line for ease of compression and the existence of text. Experiments on the proposed bit rate control show peak signal-to-noise ratios (PSNRs) similar to those of conventional bit rate controls, but with the use of significantly fewer hardware resources.

The standard high-availability seamless redundancy (HSR) protocol utilizes duplicated frame copies of each sent frame for zero fail over time. This means that even in cases of a node or link failure, the destination node will receive at least one copy of the sent frame, resulting in no network downtime. However, the standard HSR is mostly based on the electrical signal connection inside the node, which leads to the production of considerable latency at each node due to frame processing. Therefore, in a large scale HSR ring network, the accumulated latencies become significant and can often restrict the mission-critical real-time application of HSR. In this paper, we present a novel design for optical HSR (OHSR) that uses beam splitting/combining techniques. The proposed OHSR passes the frames directly to adjacent nodes without frame processing at each node, thereby theoretically generating no latency in any node. Various simulations for network samples, made to validate the OHSR design and its performance, show that the OHSR outperforms the standard HSR.
This paper describes a high speed MAC(Media Access Control) function chip for IEEE 802.11 MAC layer protocol. The MAC chip has control registers and interrupt scheme for interface with CPU and deals with transmission/reception of data as a unit of frame. The developed MAC chip is composed of protocol control block, transmission block, and reception block which supports the BCF function in IEEE 802.11 specification. The test suite which is adopted in order to verify operation of the MAC chip includes various functions, such as RTS-CTS frame exchange procedure, correct IFS(Inter Frame Space)timing, access procedure, random backoff procedure, retransmission procedure, fragmented frame transmission/reception procedure, duplicate reception frame detection, NAV(Network Allocation Vector), reception error processing, broadcast frame transmission/reception procedure, beacon frame transmission/reception procedure, and transmission/reception FIEO operation. By using this technique, it is possible to reduce the load of CPU and firmware size in high speed wireless LAN system.
As the structure of a mobile phone becomes thin to catch up with a slim product trend, the structural strength and resistance to shock of TFT-LCD module are getting to be reduced. Hence, TFT-LCD module is the strength reinforced by bezel frame. The bezel frame was produced by the multi hemming processes with several folding parts. The determination of the optimal number of hemming part and structure of bezel frame are very important process parameter to obtain the strength of that. The effect of process parameters on strength of bezel frame was investigated by FEA. Based on the result of FEA, the experiment was performed using manufactured hemming die, the result of the experiment was compared with FEA and verified. Also, three point bending tests were performed to check the strength of bezel frame.
