The purpose of this study is to analyze relations between digital characteristics and formative features of fashion design in digital era, to find out the best way to make desirable clothes in the future affected by digital characteristics. The methods of this study are documentary research of previous studies and case study. For the study of formative features of fashion design, 100 kinds of pictures have been selected from photographs in fashion magazines, professional books and internet sites. In the theoretical study, digital characteristics are limitless repetition, compressibility, interactivity, ease of deformation and mobility. And formative features of digital design are plasticity & geometry, assemblage, joints & connections, transparency and deformation. The results of analysis are as follow. Formative features of fashion design in digital era are classified nonlinearity, variability and hybrid. There are organic relations between digital characteristics and formative features of fashion design as well as between digital characteristics and formative features of digital design. Also, there is significant similarity between formative features of digital design and formative features of fashion design in digital era.

The meaning of the characteristics of formative expression in contemporary residential architecture is flowing elements as important means to inbreathe emotional feeling of movement and as automatic and positive wats of expression. So the purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of formative expression in contemporary residential architecture, and to plan residential design linked with this kind of concept. For this study, analysis of case studies were used and the cases were selected in contemporary residential architecture which were represented having formative expressions since 2005. The major results found that the characteristics of formative expression were ex-center, reiteration, dispersibility, diagonality, plasticity, non-linearity, and deconstruction. In addition to that, we derived various methods expressing the formative characteristics, which were mass transformation, plan variation and composition element transformation. Summing these results up, the various characteristics of formative expression in contemporary residential architecture are understood as the results of the free modeling will of architects fulfilled with the spirit of inquiry and experiment to escape from the standard architecture in order to differentiate themselves.

Our residential architecture and furniture have developed their unique formative characteristics under the influence of the natural environment as well as under socio-cultural influence. In order to understand such characteristics of our residential architecture and furniture, we need to clarify similarities and differences through comparative study from various perspectives. The present study purposed to examine the effects of mutual relations among Yangban's residential architecture and their furniture in the Chosun Dynasty on their formative characteristics, to identify the formative characteristics of shapes, materials, colors, patterns and decorations found in the residential architecture and their furniture, and to make a comparative analysis of the formative characteristics of the residential buildings and their furniture. This research will provide a ground for reinterpreting our culture and help to apply Korean culture identity to today's interior and furniture design.

Modern clothes are part of formative arts and express experimentation and originality. This tendency is especially prominent in structural fashion. This study set out to analyze structural fashion in various aspects, examining and analyzing the expressive and formative characteristics of Deformation and contribute to the development of creative fashion design. The approach of peer debriefing was used with three fashion experts to identify structural clothes in the women's haute couture collections from a total of 24 seasons from S/S of 2008 to F/W of 2019. The clothes with Deformation characteristics were then identified to analyze expressive and formative characteristics. The expressive characteristics of Deformation in structural clothes were exaggeration, distortion, and recombination. Exaggeration was expressed with exaggerated sizes, forms, and excessive use. Distortion was expressed with distorted forms and functions and through optical illusions. Recombination was expressed with the recombination of forms and roles. The formative characteristics of Deformation were maximum, playfulness, and unfamiliarity. The study connected the expressive characteristics to the formative ones and examined them simultaneously, finding that "distortion" and "playfulness" represented the expressive and formative characteristics, respectively. The characteristics of Deformation are expressed in various ways in structural fashion. If they are considered, they will make valuable contributions to creative ideas.

Fashion photographs from leading monthly fashion magazines in 1960s and 1990s were analyzed here. The formative feature characteristics of domestic minimalism fashion were studied. The major conclusions of the study are as follows 1. The formative feature characteristics of minimalism were expressed as simplicity, minimum, repetition, and futurism. 2. The formative feature characteristics of domestic minimalism fashion were expressed as simplicity, minimum, repetition, and futurism in silhouette, shape, detail, trimming, materials, patterns and color. 3. Minimalism in art and domestic fashion were identified to have a relation in the characteristics of formative feature. In shape and color. simplicity and minimum showed analogy while repetition and futurism showed difference. 4. Simplicity and minimum were expressed in both domestic and foreign minimalism fashions, but repetition and futurism were less expressed in domestic fashion.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of formative assessment in elementary school science teaching. In order to examine the practices of formative assessment in science teaching, 8 science classes were observed and video-taped for each of two instructions. We also interviewed the teachers and students with semi-structured questions. The result indicated that the teachers used planned formative assessment and interactive formative assessment. Teachers assessed three aspects of student loaming in science classroom: the student's personal, social and science development. However, the majority assessed in science teaching was science development. Teachers used observation, question and answer, dialogue, reports, and presentation as the formative assessment methods. The process of formative assessment was categorized as to get information, to judge and to give feedback. These three aspects were interrelated and interdependent. The type of question and feedback was influenced on the extent of the interaction between teachers and students.

This study has attempted to investigate the effect of cubism on fashion and figure out how its formative characteristics have been expressed in contemporary fashion in the 21st century, focusing on the period since 2010. The propose of the study is to broaden research scope in fashion design through analysis and inspection on formative aspects among the cases which have proposed brand - new fashion designs by adapting cubism in fashion. To find out the characteristics of cubism in painting and formative characteristics of contemporary fashion in which the characteristics of cubism are reflected, a literature review has been conducted by referring to domestic and foreign books, previous papers, academic journals and Internet resources on cubism. For an empirical study, in addition, photos of cubism-applied modern fashion have been collected and analyzed through http://www. samsungdesign.net. The following results have been obtained: First, the formative characteristics of cubism were obtained in following categories; character of figure, simultaneity, reiteration and facticity. Second, according to analysis on cases after applying the formative characteristics on contemporary fashion design, the character of figure by the geometric shape of cubism was observed in fashion as well. After dismantling and reconfiguring garments, simultaneity has been expressed in an exaggerated and distorted manner through regular and repetitive overlapping or overlapping of irregular shapes. In terms of facticity, novelty has been delivered with the use of heterogeneous materials, using collage and patchwork techniques. Third, simplicity and functionality in cubism - style garments in the early 20th century have disappeared in contemporary design in the 21st century. Now, a dynamic aspect is only found. Fourth, unlike common paintings, 2D textiles are added to a 3D body in fashion design. In addition, it can be observed from multiple angles depending on the movement so that it can display more diverse shapes. Therefore, it could be the origin of inspiration to many designers.

This study has outlined and summarized academic meaning of formative characteristics of Organic Modernism represented by various aspects of design, art, industry and architecture, then has intented to define concept of Organic Modernism Fashion. Eventually, this study is to make a analysis of formative characteristics of Organic Modernism Fashion Design. Based on example of Organic Modernism applied to architectural structure, industrial products and pure paintings, this study has analyzed and researched into formative characteristics of Organic Modernism represented by fashion design. As a consequence of study, its characteristics are defined as below; The first, the beauty of simple formation using delicate curve. The second, the expression of symbolic formation based on surrealism. The third, the expression of continuous 3-dimensional curved surface. And the last characteristic is a providing transformable multi-function. Through those characteristics mentioned above, it may be expected to define a concept of Organic Modernism Fashion Design newly and to set a precedent for providing a basic criteria to classify formative characteristics of Organic Modernism Fashion Design.

This study aims to revive modernized upstyle technique by analyzing the formative characteristics of hairstyle in Rococo ages. As a methodology, book-form literatures, periodicals, theses, and photographic materials including portraits related to Rococo ages, which had been studied from the time when Louis XIV died, to the advent of French Revolution in 1789, reaching a period of seventy-four years, were reviewed. Those materials for hairstyle revealed in modern fashion included related literatures and theses and photographs involving designers' works in fashion magazines, photographs of hairstylists' works, and movies with background of Rococo ages. Based on such materials, the formative characteristics of hairstyle in Rococo ages were studied for modernized upstyle. First, the formative characteristics of hairstyle in Rococo ages were divided and analyzed in Fontnage style, in Pompadour style Marie Antoinette style. Second, this study researched those examples wherein the characteristics of Rococo's hairstyle were expressed in modernized style, and manufactured modern upstyle works based on the research. Rococo ages featured various fashion trends and created sensitive and magnificent style with romantic theme in art field. Also, since the hairstyle in Rococo ages featured various styles that were magniloquent and magnificent, it is revived in today's hair shows and fashion shows in the same way or altered way. It is expected that this study will help understand the formative characteristics of hairstyle in Rococo ages and shed light on study on modern hairstyle in more various perspectives.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the formative characteristics of animal stripes based on the colors, shapes and texture through classification standards under functional meanings, and it also aims to produce various stripe patterns based on its outcome to develop modern fashion design. For the study method, specialty publications, preceding researches and internet websites were utilized for the purpose of theoretical discussion on animal stripes. And it is also to examine functional meanings formed by animal stripes in order to analyze the characteristics of stripes; subsequently, based on the classification standard of this function, it is to identify the distinction of its colors through quantitative analysis on formative characteristics and colors. By using the following analyzed color palette of stripes, various stripe patterns were developed and designed with the sense of modern fashion while repeatedly using the shape with systematic colors and rhythms displayed on the animals. As a result of this study, it was confirmed that animal stripes possess a regularity that is systematic and can be digitized. After identifying, analyzing and systemizing formative characteristics of animal stripes, a concept of division and competition was applied; subsequently, whole new stripe patterns were developed and designed in order to further promote fashion design.
