  • We studied the magnetic properties of $TmFe_2O_4$. The magnetization measurements revealed the magnetic ordering of Fe spins at around 240 K. The difference between zero-field-cooled (ZFC) and field-cooled (FC) magnetization was close to the thermoremanent magnetization (TRM), indicating the glass behavior exhibited by this material.

  • This paper describes the political and technical trends of foreign 10 countries advanced in solar energy field. In the trend analysis, a couple of statistical data and related references were compared. As a result, all of the advanced countries mentioned in this paper have their own PV policy strategies and regulatory frameworks to strengthen their stable market structures and have financially supported by various types of incentives and tariff systems. It was confirmed that the political basis and technical regulations including electrical safety have to be prepared as soon as possible at both national and rural level in this country.

  • Among different graft materials for craniofacial reconstruction, calcium phosphate cements have the advantages of alloplastic grafts and wide use. The authors report a case of foreign body reaction following frontal reconstruction with JectOS (an injectable calcium orthophosphate cement; Kasios) and reviewed the literature on complications of this material after craniofacial reconstruction from 2002 to 2017. Complications were categorized into two groups: immunologic reactions (consisting of seroma collection, chronic sinus mucosa swelling, and foreign body reaction) and non-immune events (infection, fragmentation, and ejection). It is wise to use calcium phosphate-based material only in selected cases with small defects, and long-term follow-up is needed to observe their consequences.

  • In order to compare with domestic underground distribution cables, the foreign cable which was manufactured in USA, 1982 and has been serviced in field for 13 years was characterized with several tests. Water trees, voids, and convolutions are not found in insulation. In hot oil test, insulation is very clean and there was no separation of insulation and conductor shield. The results of degree of crosslinking, FTIR, and DSC are also usual. Specially, the distribution of OIT is very good, which is different from that of domestic cables. The content of impurities is relatively small. This cables was manufactured with good state and no extraordinary degradation is found.

  • The frequency of a bladder foreign body in the female is lower than in the male, and bladder stones attached to foreign bodies such as non-absorbable suture material are not common. Moreover, vesicovaginal fistulas due to migration or puncture of suture materials into the bladder are rare. In this report, we present a case of bladder stone and vesicovaginal fistula formation in a 29-year-old female patient who had been treated with the McDonald operation for an incompetent internal os of the cervix (IIOC) during pregnancy. The patient was successfully treated by cystoscopic removal of the bladder stone with suture material and conservative treatment for the vesicovaginal fistula.

  • During surgical procedures, unexpected material, including surgical instruments and tissue segments, may get lost in the surgical field. Most of these should be immediately removed to prevent further complications, such as vital organ irritation, infection, and inflammatory pseudo-tumor formation. However, it is not always easy to define the exact location of the foreign body, especially if the item is very small and/or it is embedded in the soft tissue of the head and neck region. Intraoperative real-time radiological imaging with C-arm fluoroscopy can be useful to trace the three-dimensional location of small and embedded foreign bodies in the oral and maxillofacial area. We describe an unusual case of an embedded micro-screw in the intrinsic tongue muscle that had been dropped into the sublingual space during a lower alveolar bone graft procedure. The lost foreign body was accurately identified with C-arm fluoroscopy and safely removed without any further complications.

  • An 1-year-old, intact female Yorkshire Terrier weighing 1.83 kg was referred for vomiting and anorexia. Survey abdominal radiographs revealed marked gastric distention. Ultrasonography showed a hyperechoic material with acoustic shadowing near the pylorus. A foreign body and ulceration were identified during gastroscopic examination. After endoscopic retrieval of gastric foreign body, unexpectedly abdominal distention was developed. Abdominal radiographs revealed pneumoperitoneum, but no leakage of contrast media was observed in gastrointestinal contrast study. Three days after hospitalization with supportive care, no abnormal findings were detected, and then the dog was discharged. This case describes the development of peumoperitoneum during endoscopic retrieval of gastric foreign body.
