The concept of pun was basically used to get rhetorical effect in verbal usage and it can be easily applicable to visual communication design. By substituting symbolic images for words of verbal expression, we can draw out some effective communication methods in forms of pun. For years, visual puns have been useful concept to convey a visual message from ancient hieroglyphics to modern arts and design. There are essentially three categories of visual puns. Literal pun upholds the primary meanings of the message literally by picking up a key symbol to create two or more meanings, meanwhile suggestive pun is created when one symbol is used as a key symbol or two or more symbols are combined to created one key symbol that can suggest and strengthen meanings. Comparative pun can be defined two or more symbols of nearly the same appearance are combined or juxtaposed two or more times to enhance overall statement. The concept of visual pun used for traditional area can also be effective ways of new media communication. Thus it is natural to see the concept of visual puns in website. How to handle the images in website is the most critical point for differentiation. But recently, web site designers just seem to focus on somewhat functional aspect. There are certain types of web design formats, and many designers are tend to follow these routines unconsciously. In this situation, the new aspect of visual puns for web design can be a possible design method to fortify the overall message. The identification of viable myocardium in patients with coronary artery disease and left ventricular dysfunction is an issue of increasing clinical relavance in the current era of myocardial revascularization. There are at least two forms of reversible myocardial dysfunction. Early reperfusion does not always lead to immediate functional improvement; rather, the return of contractility in tissue salvaged by reperfusion is delayed for hours, days or even weeks, a phenomenon that has been termed "stunned myocardium". Some patients with coronary artery disease show myocardial dysfunction at rest which are associated with reduced perfusion, and which disappear after revascularization; this phenomenon has been termed "hibernating myocardium". Recently, cardiac imaging techniques that evaluate myocardial viability on the basis of perfusion-contraction mismatch and inotropic reserve have gained substantial popularity and clinical success. This review focus on the application of $^{201}TI$ and $^{99m}Tc-MIBI$ to address myocardial viability in patients with hibernating and stunned myocardium. It is clear that 4-hour redistribution images of $^{201}TI$ underestimate ischemia and overestimate scar. Delayed imaging and reinjection imaging have been developed for the assessment of viability. Among many protocols suggested, stress-redistribution-reinjection imaging gained most popularity. Although $^{99m}Tc-MIBI$ could identify myocardial viability, $^{201}TI$ reinjection technique was regarded as superior to it. In conclusion, $^{201}TI$ stress, 4-hr rest redistribution, and reinjection imaging technique may be the most preferable method for evaluation of myocardial viability.

With the emergence of the "singles", traditional furniture already can't meet the demand, so personalized furniture should be developed for the "singles". This study based on background and consumption psychology of the "singles", analyzed the consumption characteristics and preferences of the "singles". It studied the furniture demand of the "singles", and analyzed the existing unmarried person's residential form, types and characteristics of the furniture, and also analyzed the existing furniture using by the "singles" with SWOT, made a more systematic study for finding the advantages and disadvantages of existing the "singles" group's furniture. Then, combined with the unmarried person's furniture needs, living forms, the advantages and disadvantages of the "singles" furniture, etc., made the multi-functional furniture design concept for the "singles". This concept as a design direction, which would make out more suitable furniture be in keeping with the "singles" group's characteristics and requirements. Finally through the concept of multi-functional and folding raise the utilization ratio of narrow space of the living environment.
This study investigates the issues and suggests reform measures in applying CV methods to the Korea Development Institute's (KDI's) Preliminary Feasibility Test (PFT) of public projects. Most public projects on culture, science and environment evaluated under the PFT system belong to the category of "nonstandard" projects whose outputs are non-marketed, and CV is currently the main tool used for their benefit estimation. A careful discussion and investigation is recommended for the selection of target population, payment vehicle, and number of payment times. Operating expert reviews, focus group interviews, and pre-tests is highly recommended to reduce the potential bias involved in the CV studies. A single or double bounded dichotomous choice format is the most popular design of questionnaire, but we identify several undissolved issues in designing and implementing the format. Some other forms of inducing WTPs may still deserve our consideration. Various specifications of the WTP function need to be tried and tested based on their stability, in particular. Employing a nonparametric approach is also recommended. Treatments of 0 or negative WTPs and protest bids are shown to be the most serious issues that affect the estimation results significantly. We review diverse measures of handling those issues and summarize their advantages and shortcomings.

This study analyzes various aspects of the successful overseas expansion of SMEs that export consumer goods with their own brands. Through in-depth interviews with CEOs and marketing practitioners of fifteen SMEs that export consumer goods of their own brands, researchers examined the determinants of the decisions to export own-brand products, forms of expansion into foreign markets, firms' distribution networks, firms' technological and marketing capabilities, export barriers, and export support services offered by the government. The results indicate that these companies obtained competitiveness in the design and quality of their products through steady R&D investment, with a focus on niche markets. This study also shows that they established foreign branches, participated in overseas trade fairs, and tapped into foreign markets with Korean home shopping channels and department stores to build distribution channels and to find new buyers. However, the findings of this study reveal that many of those companies export both OEM/OEM products as well as their own-brand products due to the low level of brand awareness in foreign markets. Thus, efforts to improve their brand awareness in the global market are much needed. In addition, this paper demonstrates that the programs and services provided by state-run organizations need improvement in credibility and expertise. This research suggests recommendations for successful export programs, and provides meaningful insights for consumer-goods SMEs establishing foreign market entry strategies with their own brands.

Many science educators concern about the problems of assessment using paper & pencil test. Performance assessment is believed to be a very promising alternatives to traditional assessment. Portfolio assessment, a kind of performance assessment, has many desirable characteristics to foster students' creativity and increase students' responsibility for their own learning. However few research study has been dealt with this assessment method and few teacher adopts this method in science class. The characteristics and structures of portfolio assessment were explored by reviewing related literatures. The appropriate portfolio assessment was designed based on the results of exploration. For our primary science class, general and specific objectives are needed, depending on the nature of the instructional topics. The children's evidences for portfolio may be limited in their forms because of insufficient learning materials and reproducing facilities in classrooms. Large portions of children's evidence should be collected during class hours to reduce burdens of children. The evaluation criteria may be holistic rather than analytical because of large class size. Portfolio assessment will bring about many changes in primary science classes. Students' have more responsibility in science learning. Teachers will focus major instructional objectives, and concern more about students' meaningful learning. Although portfolio assessment requires more work to teachers and children it could be applicable to our science classroom.
Purpose: In Korea, buildings make up 20.5% (2012) of the gross national energy consumption, so they are a major target for greenhouse gas reduction. In particular, energy consumption in multihousing represents approximately 32.6% of the entire building sector. With improving energy performance being the focus, efforts are continuously being made to reinforce standards and systems in greenhouse gas reduction. This study investigated the current status of multihousing in Korea in terms of energy performance as described in the performance evaluation reports submitted (to an institution that specializes in reviewing the performance evaluation of green homes) based on the construction criteria and performance codes for green homes and examined if the evaluation criteria using related methodologies were appropriate. The results will provide helpful information for reviewing the future directions of operations and amendments to the systems. Method: The overall characteristics of the system were examined using the evaluation methodologies (and current state of revisions) of the performance codes for green homes and comparing them with similar systems. Also, the current state of application and energy performance (conducted according to the evaluation methodologies) were compared by the evaluation institution for multihousing neighborhoods that were assessed for five years from 2010 to 2014. Result: It has been confirmed that the performance codes for green homes are different from other similar systems in evaluating performances of multihousing in that they allow both quantitative and qualitative methods of evaluation, and they consider both energy and sustainability simultaneously in the evaluation. Furthermore, regarding the adoption rate of the forms for the two evaluation methods (Form 1 - quantitative and Form 2 - qualitative), the rate preferring Form 2 increased gradually in time to reach 55.3% in 2014. In analyzing the rate of overall energy reduction (submitted in Form 1) and the coefficient of thermal transmission for each part (submitted in Form 2), it was observed that the deviation between the performance submitted and the criteria decreased in line with the level of reinforcement.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the design identity visual elements of optical shop brand$\underline{s}$ in order to provide objective data necessary for optical shop brands' design development. Methods: This study examined the design identity concept of the optical shop brands and analyzed visual elements of brand design identity with a focus on the symbols of domestic franchise optical shops, type of a symbol mark, representation style of logo type, color usage, use or non-use of character, etc. Results: Many symbols were directly associated with the eyeglasses, such as eyeglasses and eyes, face and iris. Along with that, letters or figures were also observed. For the type of symbol, most types were found to have the designs that took spherical and word mark shapes. Particularly, the word mark type had English words more often than Korean words. For logo types, the gothic format was dominant. In relation to the thickness of letter, thick boldface type was commonly used. The combination of 2 degrees was the color frequency used most often in the optical shop brand design. For the frequency of color usage, black and red colors were used most often. Particularly, the orange color, as well as the black color, was also often used for the main color of symbols or logo types. Meanwhile, the characters were used only in some optical shop. Most characters were animals and expressed in the cartoon and graphical forms. Conclusions: Typifier, symbol mark, logo type, color, and character are the elements forming the basic development system for brand design identity. Systematic design is needed which clearly ensures the function and role along with the mutual consistency as a important visual component of the optical shop brand.

As the signification is created by combining signs, it is significant that we'll analyze the meaning of sings between the transmitters and receivers from the semiotic viewpoint and study the signification systems.
In addition to the ubiquitous roles of cellular RNA in genetic regulations, gene expression and phenotypic variations in response to environmental cues and chemotactic signals, the regulatory roles of a new type of RNA called extracellular RNAs (exRNAs) are an up-and-coming area of research interest. exRNA is transported outside the cell through membrane blebs known as membrane vesicles or extracellular vesicles (EVs). EV formation is predominant and conserved among all microbial forms, including prokaryotes, eukaryotes, and archaea. This review will focus on the three major topics concerning bacterially derived exRNAs, i.e., 1) the discovery of exRNA and influence of extraneous RNA over bacterial gene regulations, 2) the known secretion mechanism for the release of exRNA, and 3) the possible applications that can be devised with these exRNA secreted by different gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. Further, this review will also provide an opinion on exRNA- and EV-derived applications such as the species-specific exRNA markers for diagnostics and the possible roles of exRNA in probiotics and the epigenetic regulations of the gut microbiome.
