This paper is intended to provide a method to design control software for the TCMS, train control and monitoring system. The TCMS with this control software will be applied KOREA Standard EMU. The control software is designed by SCADE Case tool to concern safety and reliability. The function for the EMU is implemented in software easily programmed, using a functional block, graphic programming language. The control software has modular design and each module is tested with SCADE simulator. This time we focus a door control module, present a design method and a simulation method for that module.

Background: Despite increasing debate about overdiagnosis and overtreatment of thyroid cancer in Korea, information to guide decisions on whether or not to undergo screening for and treatment of abnormal lesions of the thyroid is lacking. Moreover, studies have yet to outline what lay people know and want to know about thyroid cancer. The primary aim of this study was to explore general awareness of thyroid cancer among Korean women, their sources of information, and their satisfaction with the information they are provided. The secondary aim was to investigate information needs about thyroid cancer. Materials and Methods: A qualitative study using focus group interviews was conducted. Twenty-nine women were divided into four groups: (1) participants who had never undergone thyroid ultrasound screening; (2) those who had undergone screening, (3) those who continued to undergo regular check-ups with ultrasonography for benign nodules of the thyroid; and (4) participants who had undergone surgery for thyroid cancer. Results: A widespread lack of awareness of information on thyroid cancer was noted among participants in groups 1 and 2 who were not well aware of thyroid cancer and generally recognized it as a 'good cancer'. Surprisingly, instead of doctors and medical personnel, most participants reported obtaining information from acquaintances and media outlets. Moreover, most participants described dissatisfaction with their experience with screening and a lack of explanation on treatment and test results from medical personnel. Conclusions: Women in Korea seek reliable information on thyroid cancer that could help them to better understand the disease and make informed decisions regarding screening and treatment. More effort is needed from medical personnel to communicate the implications of thyroid cancer, screening results, and treatments thereof to lay people.

In this paper, we at first describe the linear age-dependent population system. In addition, we introduce the nonlinear population system. Using these age-dependent population systems, we evaluate the stability of these age-dependent population systems and determine the optimal birth rates that realize a target distribution which relaxes an aging population. In this paper, we focus on Japan's population and we use the amount of demographic statistics of Japan in year 2000.

Statistical Process Control (SPC) is recognized as one of the most important tool of quality control (QC), and is one research focus in order to implement SPC quickly and effectively using computer technology and network environments. This paper proposes the principle and topology of embedded SPC based on the Internet/lntranet, emphatically discusses the embedded data sampling block, embedded network interface and SPC strategy. An example of application is given.

In nuclear power plant, the main control room(MCR) plays a leading and important role, so it is the core to have its design well operater-centered, both physically and cognitively. This paper especially analyzes focusing on lighting MCR environment and shows alternatives. It will lead to improve work efficiency and to care operator's sight. In conclusion, reducing operator's stress, fatigue and increasing safety, comfort.

In this paper, the ultrasonic transducer with a spherical liquid lens is designed and an efficient method to calculate the acoustic field radiated from the transducer is presented. A prototype ultrasonic transducer with a spherical liquid lens is constructed and tested. The experimental results are compared with those of the computer simulations and good agreements are achieved. The dynamic control of the geometric focus is obtained by adjusting the radius of curvature of the lens membrane with the volumetric control of the liquid in the lens.

The performance analysis and capacity planning of Service Control Point which is real time response system is studied. The system is modeled by multiclass open queueing network. The analytical method is used to solve the queueing network. The solution of the model has product form solution. The focus of this paper is to investigate the capacity of system under the restriction of response time. To get the reasonable capacities, nonlinear programming problem is formulated and is solved by GINO. And the simulation model using SLAM II is formulated.

In this paper, an off-line programming(OLP) system is presented as the three dimensional graphic simulator and one of the human-robot interface systems for industrial robots. The OLP system has been especially developed to testify robot programs visually using three dimensional geometric modeling and graphics technologies in personal computes. A special feature is its capability of collision detection and of comparing performance of control algorithms. This paper places the focus on the structure and major characteristic of OLP system.
