Effects of Water Extracts Green Tea Scented with Lotus Nelumbo nucifera Gaertner Flower on Serum Lipid Concentrations in Rats Fed High Fat (백련향차의 열수 추출물이 고지방식이 급여에 의한 흰쥐의 혈청 지질 함량에 미치는 영향)

  • The effects of water extracts of green tea scented with lotus Nelumbo nucifera Gaertner flower on serum lipid concentrations were evaluated in rats. Forty-eight male Sprague-Dawley rats weighing l00±l0 g were divided into six groups and fed high fat diets for six weeks. Experimental groups were administered with following diets; Control diet, animal, plant high fat diet and control and high fat diets with 2% water extracts of green tea scented with lotus Nelumbo nucifera Gaertner flower. Tissue weights of liver, lung, stomach, heart, kidney and spleen of high fat diet exposed rats were reduced by water extracts of green tea scented with lotus Nelumbo nucifera Gaertner flower groups. The concentrations of serum triglyceride in rats fed the water extracts of green tea scented with lotus Nelumbo nucifera Gaertner flower were lower than those in other groups. The concentrations of total cholesterol in water extracts of green tea scented with lotus Nelumbo nucifera Gaertner flower group were lower than those in high fat diet groups. The concentrations of HDL-cholesterol in serum of the water extracts of green tea scented with lotus Nelumbo nucifera Gaertner flower groups were significantly higher than those of other groups. The levels of LDL-cholesterol in serum of the water extracts of green tea scented with lotus Nelumbo nucifera Gaertner flower groups were tended to be lower than those of other groups. GPT and GOT activities were decreased in water extracts of green tea scented with lotus Nelumbo nucifera Gaertner flower groups and than in the high fat group. LDH activity was lower in the water extracts of green tea scented with lotus Nelumbo nucifera Gaertner flower groups than in the high fat group. These results suggest that water extracts of green tea scented with lotus Nelumbo nucifera Gaertner flower groups may reduce elevated levels of serum lipid concentrations in rats fed high fat diets.

A Study on the USA and Japan Consumer's Perception of the Korean Flower Tea and Their Willingness-to-Pay for It (국산 꽃차에 대한 미국과 일본의 소비자인식 및 지불의사에 대한 연구)

  • The objective of this study is to propose an export strategy due to an analysis of USA and Japan consumer's perception and willingness-to-pay for flower tea. For that, we conducted a survey on the consumer's perception on flower tea compared with leaf tea such as green tea. We also analyzed the willingness to purchase and pay for it. The reasons of drinking of flower tea for USA consumer are 'flavor'-followed by 'taste', and for Japanese consumer 'relaxation'-followed by 'flavor' in order. Both of them consider 'quality', 'safety'- and 'origin' in order when they purchase flower tea. USA consumers have a willingness-to-pay of about 8.3% and Japanese consumers have a willingness-to-pay of about 29.1%. Based on those results, it is necessary to differentiate the process and marketing strategies for the export of flower tea.

The Cytotoxicity and Chemosensitizing Effects of native camellia(Camellia japonica) and nutraceutical camellia teas

  • The present study has been undertaken to characterize availability of camellia(Camellia japonica L.) as a medicinal plant with antineoplastic and chemosensitizing activities. The crude extracts from fresn camellia flower, young leaves and nutraceutical tea of camellia leaf and flower buds were evaluated on their potential activities against various human cancer cells and multidrug resistance to cancer cells in vitro. The range of cytotoxicity displayed from 120$\mu\textrm{g}$/mL to 200$\mu\textrm{g}$/mL. Catemix 1(CT-1) mixed with camellia and green tea showed high toxicity(respectively IC$\sub$50/=l16$\mu\textrm{g}$/mL, 129$\mu\textrm{g}$/mL) against AML-2/WT, acute myelogenous leukemia cell and MCF-7, brest adenocarcinoma pleual effusion cell. Generally camellia tea mixed with green tea showed higher cytotoxicity than the other camellia teas mixed with some herbs(CH). Methanol extract of steamed camellia tea and roasted camellia tea had a chemosensitizing effect to reverse Pgp-mediated MDR. In addition, camellia flower tea of insignificant cytotoxicity, chemosensitizing effect were increased remarkably chemosensitizing effect in mixed flower tea with some herbs.

  • 특허제도는 발명자에게 발명의 공개에 대한 대가로 일정기간 독점권을 인정하여 기술개발에 투자한 자금을 회수할 수 있는 기회를 제공하고 이렇게 공개된 발명은 새로운 기술개발을 위하여 누구나 이용할 수 있도록 하여 기술발전을 촉진할 뿐만아니라 이미 개발된 발명에 대한 중복투자나 중복연구를 하는 낭비를 방지하기 위한 목적을 가진다. 본 조사는 2020년 12월 31일까지의 정부 특허정보넷인 키프리스(www.kipris.or.kr)에서 꽃차 관련 상표등록 특허 내용을 검색하여 정리하였으며 그결과는 다음과 같았다. 1. 2002년 연꽃차에 대한 것을 시작으로 최근 2020년 12월 31일까지 총 121개가 출원되었다. 2. 2020년 12월 31일까지 출원된 상표등록 특허 총 121개 중에서 포기 15개, 거절 27개, 등록 73개, 공고 6개였다. 3. 2020년 출원된 상표등록 특허 중 등록된 것은 21개였으며 개인이 출원한 것이 18개, 회사나 법인이 출원한 것이 3개였다. 4. 출원된 내용중 상품분류는 01(농업용), 03(화장품), 28(놀이용품), 30(차류), 31(농산물), 32(음료), 33(알콜음료), 35(광고업), 40(재료처리업), 41(교육업), 43(음식료품 서비스업) 이었다.

  • 사회가 발달할수록 사람들의 건강과 웰빙에 대한 욕구는 더욱 늘어가고 이에 따라서 몸에 좋은 것들을 찾고 개발하여 다양한 음료와 차들이 판매되고 있는 실정이다. 이에 색과 기능성이 뛰어난 꽃차들에 대한 선호도가 점점 올라가고 있으며 그중에서도 색과 향과 맛 및 기능성까지 뛰어난 대표적인 꽃차가 백목련 꽃차이다. 본 연구에서는 노화억제 물질로 잘 알려져 있는 항산화물질들이 제조된 2017년부터 2021년까지의 연도에 따라서 차이가 있는 지를 알아보고자 수행하였으며 그 결과는 다음과 같았다. 1. Flavonoid 함량은 측정농도(1g/100ml)로 제조연도가 2017년 것은 499.0±11.0ppm, 2018년 것은 485.0±16.0ppm, 2019년 것은 422.0±13.0ppm, 2020년 것은 759.0±38.0ppm, 2021년 것은 509.0±14.0ppm으로 2020년에 제조한 것이 가장 높은 함량을 보였다. 2. Chlorogenic acid 함량은 측정농도(1g/100ml)로 제조연도가 2017년 것은 2062.0±63.0ppm, 2018년 것은 2253.0±21.0ppm, 2019년 것은 2035.0±25.0ppm, 2020년 것은 3363.0±52.0ppm, 2021년 것은 2359.0±35.0ppm의 함량을 보였다. 3. Catechin 함량은 측정농도(1g/100ml)로 제조연도가 2017년 것은 1343.0±42.0ppm, 2018년 것은 1470.0±14.0ppm, 2019년 것은 1325.0±17.0ppm, 2020년 것은 2210.0±35.0ppm, 2021년 것은 1541.0±24.0ppm의 함량을 보였다. 4. Tannic acid 함량은 측정농도(1g/100ml)로 제조연도가 2017년 것은 1403.0±42.0ppm, 2018년 것은 1530.0±14.0ppm, 2019년 것은 1385.0±17.0ppm, 2020년 것은 2270.0±35.0ppm, 2021년 것은 1601.0±24.0ppm의 함량을 보였다. 5. 모든 항산화물질에서 2020년에 제조한 꽃차가 가장 높은 함량을 보였다.

Major Compositions of Leaf Tea and Flower Tea Using Native Camellia(Camellia japonica) in Korea

  • Most of leaf teas, except flower tea, were considered as good materials with basic conditions for tea manufacture because water content was below 6 %, Crude protein was the greatest component in roasted young leaf tea, crude fats in roasted mature leaf tea and ashes in fermented young leaf tea. Caffein were present as the highest amount(5.18%) in steamed mature leaf tea, showing less amount than greenp teas. Catechin were contained as the highest amount in all kinds of teas, especially fermented young leaf tea. was the highest(9.57%). Tannin, which highly related with tea quality including astringent taste, color and perfume, were present as the highest amount in fermented young leaf tea.(중략)

  • The objective of this study is to propose the motivation of the analysis on consumer's purchase behavior and willingness-to-pay for flower tea. Therefore, we survey the purchase behaviors on flower teas as compared with leaf teas such as green teas. We also analyze the willingness to purchase and pay for such teas. The reasons for consuming flower teas are 'flavor', 'beauty/diet', 'health', consecutively. Consumers prioritize 'safety', 'quality', 'price', and 'design' when purchasing flower teas. Nevertheless, it is also essential to consider 'flavor' as a quality factor. It is necessary to differentiate the process and marketing strategies for the development of flower teas.

Quality Characteristics of Balloon Flower Leaf Tea with Different Times of Roasting and Rubbing (덖음 및 유념 횟수를 달리한 도라지 잎차의 품질 조사)

  • In this study, to develop balloon flower (Platycodon grandiflorum) leaves, which are not used as tea, a method of making green tea was referred to, and several physiological activities were analyzed using the balloon flower leaf tea with different times of roasting and rubbing. The highest total polyphenol and tannin contents were 33.02 mg GAE/g and 5.03 mg/g at two times of roasting and one time of rubbing, respectively. In the case of the total flavonoids, the RO3 + RU2, subjected to three times of roasting and two times of rubbing, showed the highest value, whereas there was no significant difference between the control and the other samples. Except for the green tea as a control, the RO2 + RU1 samples reported the highest antioxidant activity whereas it decreased with increasing number of times of roasting and rubbing. The color, lightness, and yellowness tended to decrease slightly as the number of increasing roasting and rubbing among the samples with no significant difference. All of these things together, to develop tea using the balloon flower leaves would be suitable with two times of roasting and one time of rubbing.
