Effects of the Topping Methods on Yield and Quality of Flue-Cured Tobacco (적심방법이 잎담배의 수량 및 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of topping time and degree on the characteristics of three tobacco varieties, and to establish the early topping (Button stage) method at Eumseong Experiment Station, Korea Tobacco Research Institute in 1979-1980. The results are summarized as follows; yield increased in the plots of By 104, topping at button stage and under first leaf from floral axis. Quality was good in the plot topped at button stage and under first leaf from floral axis. Price per l0a was highest in the plot topped at button stage and under first leaf from floral axis.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the fashion style in the drama 'sex and the city's character. Frist of all, mixing and matching style is one of Carrie's signiture styles, namely her ability to combine haute couture fashion with high street bargains and vintage buys to make ingenious ensambles. There are two main ways to go with this seperates look, the equal look, when tops are put with equally fabulous bottoms, and the unequal look, when fabulous tops go with less fabulous bottoms. Second, nowadays vintage style is one of fashion trend. The 'Sex and the city' has define trends when it comes to jewellery, it is the 'Carrie' nameplate and the Hermes's horseshoe necklaces, especially pearls were a big hit for vintage style. Also it takes a floral pattern and various hat makes a vintage style. Third, Sexual style shows a halter and sleeveless dress with long earing and splendid necklaces. And it takes a leopard pattern. Fourth, romantic style, one of the 'Sex and the city"s character's favourite garments is the dress. Its makes romantic moods a delicate with handbags, Manolo Blahnik's and Jimmy Choo's high hill shoes and corsages. The romantic pattern is floral and material is chiffon.ffon.

An Observation Supporting System for Predicting Citrus Fruit Production

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a growth prediction model that can predict growth and development information influencing the production of citrus fruits: the growth model algorithm that can predict floral leaf ratio, number of fruit sets, fruit width, and overweight depending on the main period of growth and development with consideration of the applied weather factors. Every year, large scale of manpower was mobilized to investigate the production of outdoor-grown citrus fruits, but it was limited to recycling the data without an observation supporting system to systemize the database. This study intends to create a systematical database based on the basic data obtained through the observation supporting system in application of an algorithm according to the accumulated long term data and prepare a base for its continuous improvement and development. The importance of the observed data is increasingly recognized every year, and the citrus fruit observation supporting system is important for utilizing an effective policy and decision making according to various applications and analysis results through an interconnection and an integration of the investigated statistical data. The citrus fruit is a representative crop having a great ripple effect in Jeju agriculture. An early prediction of the growth and development information influencing the production of citrus fruits may be helpful for decision making in supply and demand control of agricultural products.

A Study for Field Trips on the Vegetation Types and Plant Growth Habits at the Old Road Naori's Hill Hwasun (야외학습을 위한 화순 너릿재 옛길의 식물상과 생활형에 관한 연구)

  • Field classes are necessary to grow the ability of and an attitude toward exploring nature and to shape the basic concept of natural science. I tried to develop a site for field classes and the old road Naori's hill is an ideal place with convenient traffic and established youth camps. As a result the vegetation was divided into five associations and communities. The vegetation units obtained in the present study were as follow: Quercus acutissima community, Pinus densiflora community, Pinus densiflora-Quercus acutissima community, Quercus acutissima-Pinus densiflora community, and Quercus mongolica community. In all survey areas 100 family 336 genus 587 species of palants was found. Furthermore, it provides lots of plants throughout the seasons. Not only the flora but also flowering phenology, variety of floral color and growth habits can be used as teaching items. Incorporation of diverse knowledge of plants at the old road Naori's hill into biology teaching will give students academic stimuli and teachers an opportunity of retraining. With a combination of use of visual instruments, the purpose of conceptual and exploring biology is more easily achieved.

  • This design study was conducted to plan and propose the bus-station as the public design for Cheongju City. The study was provided other purposes which designed its function as plant container and revealed the brand identity of Cheongju City, Jikji. At planning stage, design plant container with motif from top roof of the Early Printing Museum of Cheongju. And planed it located on the top of facility. The facilities, with design factors that increase satisfaction, were planed through the analysis of user behavior. The narrow frame and transparent wall were intended to establish clear sight for its users or pedestrians on road. In order to harmonize with urban surroundings, decreased the fanciness of designed figure and used achromatic color as lead main color.

Disappearing Forest Tree Species Diversity in Tropical Moist Deciduous Forest and Its Implications: A Case Study in the Madhupur Tract of Central Bangladesh

  • A study was conducted for indentifying the floral biodiversity of woody species by calculating four diversity indices using data collected from 4 stands of different age groups and disturbance regimes in two areas of Madhupur tract. Results showed that highest species diversity in the old growth secondary coppice forest (>60 years) under moderate anthropogenic disturbances of Madhupur National Park area (delete (D=0.74, H'=3.36) followed by old growth secondary forest stands (>40 years) under moderate disturbances at Bhawal National Park area (D=0.65, H'=2.81). Plant species diversity of the young enrichment plantations (<20 years and <15 years) under high anthropogenic disturbances in both the areas are much low (D=0.54 and H'=2.16 and D=0.52 and H'=1.92 respectively), which indicate high anthropogenic disturbances coupled with introduction of invasive exotics that are rival for endemic species are detrimental for conservation of biological diversity of tropical moist deciduous forests of Madhupur tract in Bangladesh.

Studies on Inhibiting Floral Induction of Angelica gigas NAKAI in the Hilly Altitude Area (중.산간지대에서 참당귀의 화성억제에 관한 연구)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effects of floral inhibition of Angelica gigas NAKAI in the hilly altitude located in the Northern Gyeongbuk Province from Feb. 1992 to 1994. The results obtained were as follows: As the cultivated areas are high, rate of bolting was significantly decreased, having high yield, good growth, and medicinal quality. It is considered that the optimal cultivating area was at least above 600m altitude. In the hilly altitude, the more shorten nursery period was, the more decreased rate of bolting was, it results in decreased yield, having no significant differences in contents such as extract and decursin. In bolting response from temperature treatment of the seedlings, treatment of temperature was significantly decreased floral induction, but rate of establishment was decreased by decayed root. Bolting rate at different organic resources has more reduced in single fertilization than that of in organic application, but among organic resources, compost of rice straw has the lowest bolting rate. As a result, yield and medicinal qualities at various organic resources were increased in application of organic resources which was no considerable tendency among organic resources.
