According to traffic accidents statistics, the number of fatalities, injuries and the rate of increase of traffic accidents have been decreasing over last 5-years. The fatality rate is 1.9 for total accidents but the fatality rate for single vehicle accidents shows a 7.9, which is 4 times greater than the average for all accidents. Single vehicle accidents, usually occur as a vehicle impacts a fixed objects on the roadside as the vehicle runs-off from the road. However, few researches have been conducted considering the accident severity of single vehicle accidents which impact to the fixed objects on the road. The single vehicle accident is directly related to the composition of road cross section, (since it is the required the minimum width of a road for all run-off-the-road vehicles to recover or come to a safe stop). Therefore, this study analyzes the influence of road cross section on traffic accidents to find out the severity of single vehicle accident. To analyze the road elements which are related to the accident severity, the Ordered Probit Model was used. As variables, the element of road cross section such as the radius(m), vertical curve(%), cross sectional grade(%), road width(m). number of climbing lane, median, and curb, were used (as was the 3-years of accidents data). This study found out that cross slope(%), road width(m), and the number of climbing lane are related to the severity of accident. The result of this study could be expected to improve the road safety and to be used as the base data for further road safety research.

This paper describes an analysis of the decoding performance and decoding convergence speed of layered LDPC(low-density parity-check) decoder for mobile WiMAX system, and the optimal design conditions for hardware implementation are searched. A fixed-point model of LDPC decoder, which is based on the min-sum algorithm and layered decoding scheme, is implemented and simulated using Matlab model. Through fixed-point simulations for the block lengths of 576, 1440, 2304 bits and the code rates of 1/2, 2/3A, 2/3B, 3/4A, 3/4B, 5/6 specified in the IEEE 802.16e standard, the effect of internal bit-width, block length and code rate on the decoding performance are analyzed. Simulation results show that fixed-point bit-width larger than 8 bits with integer part of 5 bits should be used for acceptable decoding performance.

Recently, the convolutional neural network shows high performance in many computer vision tasks. However, convolutional neural networks require enormous amount of operation, so it is difficult to adopt them in the embedded environments. To solve this problem, many studies are performed on the ASIC or FPGA implementation, where an efficient representation method is required. The fixed-point representation is adequate for the ASIC or FPGA implementation but causes a performance degradation. This paper proposes a separate optimization of representations for the convolutional layers and the batch normalization layers. With the proposed method, the required bit width for the convolutional layers is reduced from 16 bits to 10 bits for the ResNet-50 neural network. Since the computation amount of the convolutional layers occupies the most of the entire computation, the bit width reduction in the convolutional layers enables the efficient implementation of the convolutional neural networks.
Purpose: Due to the difficulty of the hygienic care and sanitary management of abutment teeth and subpontic areas associated with fixed dental prostheses (FDPs), intrabony defects occur and accelerate due to the accumulation of plaque and calculus. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of regenerative periodontal surgery for intrabony defects associated with FDPs. Methods: The study inclusion criteria were met by 60 patients who underwent regenerative treatment between 2016 and 2018, involving a total of 82 intrabony defects associated with FDPs. Periodontal osseous lesions were classified as 1-, 2-, and 3-wall intrabony defects and were treated with an enamel matrix derivative in combination with bone graft material. The changes in clinical (pocket probing depth [PPD] and clinical attachment level [CAL]) and radiographic (defect depth and width) outcomes were measured at baseline and at 6, 12, and 24 months. Results: Six months after regenerative treatment, a significant reduction was observed in the PPD of 1-wall (P<0.001), 2-wall (P<0.001), and 3-wall (P<0.001) defects, as well as a significant reduction in the CAL of 2-wall (P<0.001) and 3-wall (P<0.001) intrabony defects. However, there was a significant increase in the CAL of 1-wall intrabony defects (P=0.003). Radiographically, a significant reduction in the depth of the 3-wall (P<0.001) defects and a significant reduction in the width of 2-wall (P=0.008) and 3-wall (P<0.001) defects were observed. The depth decreased in 1-wall defects; however, this change was not statistically significant (P=0.066). Conclusions: Within the limitations of the current study, regenerative treatment of 2- and 3-wall intrabony defects associated with FDPs improved clinical and radiological outcomes. Additional prospective studies are necessary to confirm our findings and to assess long-term outcomes.
This paper presents a mathematical model for fixed-end moments of I-sections with straight haunches for the general case (symmetrical and/or non-symmetrical) subjected to a concentrated load localized anywhere on beam taking into account the bending deformations and shear, which is the novelty of this research. The properties of the cross section of the beam vary along its axis "x", i.e., the flange width "b", the flange thickness "t", the web thickness "e" are constant and the height "d" varies along of the beam, this variation is linear type. The compatibility equations and equilibrium are used to solve such problems, and the deformations anywhere of beam are found by the virtual work principle through exact integrations using the software "Derive" to obtain some results. The traditional model takes into account only bending deformations, and others authors present tables considering the bending deformations and shear, but are restricted. A comparison between the traditional model and the proposed model is made to observe differences, and an example of structural analysis of a continuous highway bridge under live load is resolved. Besides the effectiveness and accuracy of the developed models, a significant advantage is that fixed-end moments are calculated for any cross section of the beam "I" using the mathematical formulas.
The purpose of this study was pertinent design of the framework of the fixed bone anchored bridge using implants in the edentulous mandible through analysis of stress distribution by the three dimensional finite element analysis method. The results were as follows: 1. The L-shaped framework was favorable in restoring the edentulous mandible by implants and fixed bone anchored bridge. 2. The structure of the framework should be designed to endure the occlusal load because of stress concentration at the most distal abutment of the framework. 3. The stress at the distal implant where cantilever starts was twice as much as that of other portions. 4. Compressive stress was generated on the framework of the mesial side of the distal implant and extrusive force was induced to the mesially positioned implants. 5. The height of vertical plate was high as possible as can be to distribute stresses concentrating bucco-lingually and labio-lingually in the framework between abutments, 6. Reinforcement of the horizontal plate thickness was needed because stress was loaded more on the horizontal plate than on the vertical plate of the framework. 7. Lengthening of the vertical plate can compensate for any limitations in horizontal plate width.

Influences of sustain pulse-width on electrical characteristics and luminous efficiency are experimentally investigated for surface discharge of AC-PDP. A square pulse with variable duty ratio and fixed rising time of 300 ns has been used in the experiment. It is found that the memory coefficient is significantly increased at the critical pulse-width. And the wall charges and wall voltages as well as capacitances are experimentally measured by Q- V analysis method along with the voltage margin relation, in terms of the sustain pulse-width in the range of $1{\mu}s$ to $5{\mu}s$ under driving frequency of 10 kHz to 180 kHz. And the luminous efficiency is also experimentally investigated in above range of sustain pulse-width with driving frequency of 10 kHz to 180 kHz. It is noted that the luminous efficiency for 10 kHz and 180 kHz are 1.29 1m/W and 0.68 1m/W respectively, since the power consumption for 10 kHz is much less than that for 180 kHz. It has been concluded that the optimal sustain pulse-width is in the range of $2.5 {\~}4.5{\mu}s$ under driving frequency range of 10 kHz and 60 kHz, and in the range of $1.5 {\~} 2.5{\mu}s$ under driving frequency range of 120 kHz and 180 kHz based on observation of memory coefficient, and wall voltage as well as luminous efficiency.
In recent years, owing to the growing user demand for the two-way internet service based on the mobile global broadband communications, a new type of satellite terminal has been developed, known as ESIM(Earth Station in Motion). This service was required by Resolution 158(WRC-15) to study on the coexistence with the co-primary FS(Fixed Service) in 27.5-29.5 GHz as a FSS(Fixed Satellite Service) uplink. In this paper, the average received power on ESIM within -10 dB of beam width of FS and its outage probability was analyzed theoretically and also simulated to account for the azimuth angle with uniform distribution. From the results, it can be concluded that this theoretical analysis is very useful to analyze the interference from ESIM into FS based on the statistical and probabilistic method. Therefore, it is necessary to control the azimuth angle due to a moving terminal as well as the inclination angle of moving path, the operation hours, and the speed of ESIM to protect the co-primary FS.

In this paper, we propose a multi-scale crack detection method. This method uses decomposition, composition, and shape properties. It is based on morphology algorithm, crack features. We use a morphology operator which extracts patterns of crack. It segments cracks and background using opening and closing operations. Morphology based segmentation is better than existing integration methods using subtraction in detecting a crack it has small width. However, morphology methods using only one structure element could detect only fixed width crack. Thus, we use decomposition and composition methods. We use a decimation method for decomposition. After decomposition and morphology operation, we get edge images given by binary values. Our method calculates values of properties such as the number of pixels and the maximum length of the segmented region. We decide whether the segmented region belongs to cracks according to those data. Experimental results show that our proposed multi-scale crack detection method has better results than those of existing detection methods.

Abutment dies which resemble the actual size and shape of crown abutment is essential in most of the research area of fixed prosthodontics like marginal accuracy, crown seating, behavior of luting agent and so on. Seeing the large portion of research is done with round shaped dies in different size and cone angles, the necessity of research on the crown abutment is self-evident. 500 molar abutments were collected randomly through the commercial dental laboratoy, regrdless of their position in the dental arch, sex, and age. The measurements of 22 points of a die were done, and the results were as fogbows : 1. The height of the molar dies was $3.9{\pm}1.2mm$ 2. The bucco-lingual width was $8.9{\pm}1.2mm$ at the base, and $7.4{\pm}1.2mm$ at the occlusal. 3. The desio-sistal width was $8.2{\pm}1.2mm$ at the base, and $7.0{\pm}1.3mm$ at the occlusal.
