Study on critical buckling load calculation method of piles considering passive and active earth pressure

  • Different types of long slender pile shall buckle with weak soil and liquefied stratum surrounded. Different from considering single side earth pressure, it was suggested that the lateral earth pressure can be divided into two categories while buckling: the earth pressure that prevent and promotes the lateral movement. Active and passive earth pressure calculation model was proposed supposing earth pressure changed linearly with displacement considering overlying load, shaft resistance, earth pressure at both sides of the pile. Critical buckling load calculation method was proposed based on the principle of minimum potential energy quoting the earth pressure calculation model. The calculation result was contrasted with the field test result of small diameter TC pile (Plastic Tube Cast-in-place pile). The fix form could be fixed-hinged in the actual calculation assuring the accuracy and certain safety factor. The contributions of pile fix form depend on the pile length for the same geological conditions. There exists critical friction value in specific geological conditions that the side friction has larger impact on the critical buckling load while it is less than the value and has less impact with larger value. The buckling load was not simply changed linearly with friction. The buckling load decreases with increased limit active displacement and the load tend to be constant with larger active displacement value; the critical buckling load will be the same for different fix form for the small values.

  • Mineral carbonation technology is a process whereby CO2 is chemically reacted with calcium-and/or magnesium-containing minerals to form stable carbonate materials. Add the Materials that could fix CO2 as mineral admixture to concrete can improve the anti-carbonation properties of concrete. This paper has carried on the literature research on the carbonated mechanism of Material that could fix carbon dioxide. Such as Brucite, 𝜞-C2S, Mg2SiO4, MgO, Ca3MgSi2O8. And summarizes the development of the development of this field.

  • In this paper, we introduce the notion of multiplier of AC-algebra and consider the properties of multipliers in AC-algebras. Also, we characterized the fixed set $Fix_d(X)$ by multipliers. Moreover, we prove that M(X), the collection of all multipliers of AC-algebras, form a semigroup under certain binary operation.

Sternal Fracture Fixation with a Steel Wire: The New "Timala" Technique

  • Purpose: Traumatic sternal fractures are rare but quite disabling injuries. Timely fixation of sternal fractures reduces pain and prevents respiratory complications. However, the fixation technique should be simple, effective, and readily available in local circumstances. Methods: From January 2014 to March 2020, seven patients with sternal fracture/dislocation underwent steel wire fixation with the new "Timala" technique. In this technique, adjacent ribs are anchored with two steel wires to form an "X" in front of the fractured segment of the sternum. Patients were followed up clinically and radiologically. Results: Six of the patients were men and one was a female. Five of them had injuries due to falls and two were injured in road traffic accidents. Their age ranged from 18 years to 76 years, with a median age of 41 years. All seven patients experienced immediate recovery from pain and showed evidence of fracture healing on postoperative chest X-rays and clinical examinations. Conclusions: Anchoring ribs to fix the sternum with steel wire is a safe, effective, easily available, and reproducible method to fix sternal fractures or dislocations.

  • this paper describes the electric field distribution interpretation along a shield form inner vacuum interrupter(VI). The equipotential line and electric field in a VI are analysed by a finite element method at various shield form. in result, The electric potentials of end shield form was increased or decreased because it was various the length of shield and between external insulation and source area or fix._end shield. finally shield is how to electric field affect, and advance, and will achieve the optimum design of VI inside shield.

Fix an integer $d{\geq}3$, let $Mat_{d+1}({\mathcal{F}})$ denote the ${\mathcal{F}}$-algebra of $(d+1){\times}(d+1)$ matrices with entries in ${\mathcal{F}}$. An ordered pair of matrices A, $A^*$ in $Mat_{d+1}({\mathcal{F}})$ is said to be LB-TD form whenever A is lower bidiagonal with subdiagonal entries all 1 and $A^*$ is irreducible tridiagonal. Let A, $A^*$ be a Leonard pair in $Mat_{d+1}({\mathcal{F}})$ with fundamental parameter ${\beta}=2$, with this assumption there are four families of Leonard pairs, Racah, Hahn, dual Hahn, Krawtchouk type. In this paper we show from these four families only Racah and Krawtchouk have LB-TD form.

  • Let (M,g) be a compact m dimensional Einstein manifold with smooth boundary. Let $\Delta$$_{p}$,B be the realization of the p form valued Laplacian with a suitable boundary condition B. Let Spec($\Delta$$_{p}$,B) be the spectrum where each eigenvalue is repeated according to multiplicity. We show that certain geometric properties of the boundary may be spectrally characterized in terms of this data where we fix the Einstein constant.ant.

  • Satellite-based argumentation systems (SBAS) is a system that enhances the accuracy, integrity, availability and continuity of GNSS navigation users by using geostationary orbit (GEO) satellites to send correction information and the failures of global navigation satellite system (GNSS) satellites in the form of messages. The correction information provided by SBAS is pseudorange error, satellite orbit error, clock error, and ionospheric delay error at 250 bps. Therefore, A lot of message processing are required for the SBAS navigation. There is a need to reduce SBAS time to first fix (TTFF) for using SBAS navigation in systems with short operating time. In this paper, A-SGNSS operation method was proposed for reducing SBAS TTFF. Also, A-SGNSS TTFF and availability were analyzed.

Accuracy of the Position Fix and Local Fluctuation of Omega Signals in the South Coast of Korea (한국남해안에 있어서의 오메가신호의 지역적인 변화와 측위의 정도)

  • For the purpose of surveying accuracy of the position fix and local fluctuation of Omega signals in south coast of Korea, the author observe continuously the phase difference of the A-C pair and A-E pair form December 1, 1980, to February 28, 1981, at Cheju(33$^{\circ}$31'.0N, 126$^{\circ}$31.9E) and Busan(35$^{\circ}$7'.9 N, 129$^{\circ}$6'. 3 E). The analyzed results are as follows: 1. Omega signals at Cheju and Busan are positive correlation. Mean value of coefficients during all measured time is 0.70 with A-C pair and 0.75 with A-E pair. 2. Range of mean value of difference between the measured PPC at Cheju and Busan is 17.7~21.3 cels with A-C pair and -2.9~2.0 cels with A-E pair. 3. In case of using the differential Omega at Cheju and Busan, mean value of total errors of the position fix is 1.52 miles and its standard deviation is 0.21 miles.

An Extended Force Density Method for the form finding of cable systems with new forms

  • The Force Density Method (FDM) is a well known and extremely versatile tool in form finding of cable nets. In its linear formulation such method makes it possible to find all the possible equilibrium configurations of a net of cables having a certain given connectivity and given boundary conditions on the nodes. Each singular configuration corresponds to an assumed force density distribution. Its improvement as Non-Linear Force Density Method (NLFDM) introduces the possibility of imposing assigned relative distances among the nodes, the tensile level in the elements and/or their initial undeformed length. In this paper an Extended Force Density Method (EFDM) is proposed, which makes it possible to set conditions in terms of given fixed nodal reactions or, in other words, to fix the positions of a certain number of nodes and, at the same time, to impose the intensity of the reaction force. Through such extension, the (EFDM) enables us to deal with form findings problems of cable nets subjected to given constraints and, in particular, with mixed structures, made of cables and struts. The efficiency and the robustness of method are assessed through comparisons with other form finding techniques in dealing with characteristic applications to the prestress design of cable systems. As a further extension, the EFDM is applied to structures having some parts not yet geometrically defined, as can happen in designing new creative forms.
