LC-MS/MS를 이용한 설사성 패류독소 함량 조사 (Analysis of Diarrhetic Shellfish Poisoning Toxins by Liquid Chromatography-electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry)

  • LC/MS/MS로 패류 114건에서 설사성패독인 OA, DTX1, PTX2, YTX을 정량한 결과 110건(96.5%)에서는 설사성패독이 불검출이었으며, 굴 2건(0.004, 0.001 ${\mu}g/g$), 진주담치 1건(0.001 ${\mu}g/g$), 바지락 1건(0.001 ${\mu}g/g$)에서 OA(Okadaic acid)가 검출되어 3.5%의 검 출률을 나타내었으며 동일 시료를 마우스시험법으로 마비성 패독을 실험한 결과 설사성 패독과의 유의성은 보이지 않았다.

수산물 수급통계 실태 및 개선과제 (Current Status and Improvement of the Fisheries Supply and Demand Statistics)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify problems and suggest improvements of estimating procedures and item of fisheries supply-demand statistics served as a basis for the fisheries supply-demand policies. Korea Rural Economic Institute(KREI) and Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries(MOF) respectively publish the fisheries supply-demand statistics. But the reliability of data is low as the statistics of these two organizations are limited and show discrepancy in the numbers. It is therefore difficult to use them as the basic data for policies. Also, an accurate data aggregation is difficult due to following problems in the items of statistics. 1) Problems in estimating route sales and non-route sales of production, 2) adequacy of fishery product yield rate compared to raw material in the fisheries import/export sector, 3) selection of target companies for understand stocks and survey scope of fish species, 4) applying'0'to non-edible product demand etc. In order to develop the fisheries industry as a future growth industry, it is necessary to establish the accurate fisheries supply-demand policy as the instability of fisheries supply and demand is increasing. To do this, statistical reliability has to be improved. The improvements proposed in this study should be implemented considering urgency. First of all, an exhaustive analysis of stock statistics and conversion rates of raw material yield in the fisheries import/export sector should be conducted. In the medium term and the long term, transferring production statistics to MOF and surveys on the use demand of non-food product and the level of reduced and discarded seafood products should be carried out in consecutive order.

  • Thermal diffusivities of white muscled fish meat paste products were measured and an experimental equation for prediction of the thermal diffusivity was suggested. The thermal diffusivities of products with water contents of 43.03 to $82.49\%$ and lipid contents of 0.50 to $14.88\%$ could be deduced as following equations ; $$\alpha_{80.39^{\circ}C}=0.0832{\cdot}10^{-6}{\cdot}X_w+0.0797{\cdot}10^{-6},\;m^2{\cdot}s^{-1}$$ $$\alpha_{100.63^{\circ}C}=0.0873{\cdot}10^{-6}{\cdot}X_w+0.0830{\cdot}10^{-6},\;m^2{\cdot}s^{-1}$$ $$\alpha_{120.09^{\circ}C}=0.0842{\cdot}10^{-6}{\cdot}X_w+0.0901{\cdot}10^{-6},\;m^2{\cdot}s^{-1}$$ From these equations, an experimental equation was derived for the prediction of thermal diffusivities of white muscled fish meat paste products ; $$\alpha=(1.308+0.1324{\cdot}X_w){\cdot}\alpha_w-0.0626{\cdot}10^{-6}{\cdot}X_w-0.1355{\cdot}10^{-6},\;m^2{\cdot}s^{-1}$$ The errors of the thermal diffusivities predicted with this equation were less than ${\pm}\;0.30\%$ compared with those measured.

Validation of Korean Meat Products and Processed Cheese for the Detection of GMO using p35S and tNOS Primers

  • In this study, 543 samples of press hams, sausages, processed ground meat and processed cheese acquired from retail markets in Seoul and Gyeonggi province in Korea from 2005 to 2010 were monitored using a one-step multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method that involves the amplification of specific soya or maize endogenous genes and the amplification of 35S promoter (p35S) and nopaline synthase terminator (tNOS) for GMO detection. Among the 543 samples, 477 samples were amplified for maize and/or soybean endogenous genes. Although one sausage sample collected in 2008 showed amplification of tNOS, the result was assumed to be false positive based on the results from further tests of other sausage samples of the same brand. Our results demonstrate the absence of GM soya and/or maze of livestock products in the Korean market during 2005-2010. In addition, the one-step multiplex PCR using previously constructed primer sets appears to be useful as a screening method for the detection of GMOs in processed livestock products. However, more specific methods should be established and employed to detect the event-specific GM gene for positive reaction samples by screening tests in processed livestock products.

수협 단위조합 소매사업 발전 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Promotion of Retail Business on Primary Fisheries Cooperatives in Korea)

  • This study aims to examine problems of retail business operated by primary fisheries cooperatives and provide some suggestions for enhancing their retail business function. It reveals that although sales business function of fisheries cooperatives is very important for the members of Korean fisheries cooperatives, their performance and efficiency outcomes have been disappointing. The research offers six suggestions in two categories to resolve the issues. In the first category as a marketing plan for retail business of primary fisheries cooperatives, first, enhance of marine products business using local specialty goods. second, expanded of on-line shopping mall and third, joint marketings among primary cooperatives are necessary. In second category as an assistance plan of National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives(NFFC) for primary fisheries cooperatives, First, we needed to making logistics system for fisheries. Second, conducting retail business consulting for primary fisheries cooperatives. Finally, human resource development programs are needed. Primary fisheries cooperatives have to discipline faithfully as a cooperatives for NFFC roles as a cooperatives. So making marine products sales business as a core of a economy business of primary fisheries cooperatives in Korea is very important.

방사능 관련 안전정보의 수산물 소비 영향에 관한 연구 (A study on the consumption of fishery products in relation with radioactivity-related safety information)

  • This study aims to look at the change in consumer awareness and behavior after Japan's 2013 nuclear power plant's radioactive water leakage and draw implications about them. Findings show that 81% of respondents decreased their consumption of fishery products after the nuclear incident, and kept on showing avoidance of imported fishery products including those from Japan. Also it showed that consumers more importantly considered safety when buying imported fishery products after the nuclear incident. The most common channel of receiving radioactivity safety information on fishery products were TV and online. However, the main reason for decreasing the consumption of fishery products was founded to be based on the inaccuracy of the information provided. However, many people said that they will increase their consumption of all fishery products if provided with accurate radioactivity information. Therefore, if accurate radioactivity information were to be spread effectively to the public, positive consumption rates of fishery products can be shown in the future. The inaccuracy of radioactivity safety information caused the rapid decrease of fishery products consumption in 2013 to be amplified. Therefore, this study showed the importance of the delivery of rapid, accurate and consistent information to consumers.

지역별 수산업 클러스터 형성가능성 검토 (Examining the Potentialities for Building Fisheries Cluster in Regional Level)

  • In recent, the Korean fisheries industry face an overall crisis. Annual fish catch is continuously decreasing for last two decades even though various programs to improve fish population. Moreover, domestic fish market is more and more occupied by imported cheap fish products from abroad due to the consequence of open economic policy, FTA and WTO/DDA entente. Under the circumstances, this study aims to examine the potential for building fisheries cluster as a policy tool to promote fisheries and fisheries-associated industries in Korea. To achieve this goal, the authors firstly reviewed the theoretical concept of Industrial Cluster in the evolutionary economics point of view, secondly, analyzed the main components of Porterian Cluster(or innovation cluster), thirdly, derived the key reasons to induce the improvement of productivity within the cluster network system and lastly evaluated fisheries capability and industrial infrastructures of each province as a basic condition to build a fisheries cluster. The result of the study demonstrates the voluntary accumulation of fish products and processing techniques in Korea, however, it is not enough to make up a Porterian innovation. Therefore, the present is most opportune for applying fisheries cluster as a strategic policy tool. Government supports to establish innovation cluster for fisheries may contribute both fisheries industry and local economy by developing the latent capacity of fisheries and helping concentrate innovation capabilities.

한말의 수산금융에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fisheries Financing of the Late Yi Dynasty)

  • Though modern banking organs were established in Korea with the Kanghwa Treaty as a momentum, the benefit of financing at that time, which was mainly given to merchants and industrialists and traders, was extremely limited to the fishermen. The fishermen who were out of favor with the benefit of financing of modern banking organs were forced to rely on high interest loans, a category of usury capital, issued by the middlemen (the Kaekju) who lent them the deficit of their necessary funds. The fact was that in the field of fisheries the middlemen who issued usury capital played the leading part in fisheries financing of the Late Yi Dynasty. The middlemen, however, sqeezed a part or all of surplus products and on occasion even necessary products out of the fishermen by means of outward compulsion of economy. Moreover they put the fishermen further in trouble by putting-out system. In order to keep on with the production of aquatic products, the fishermen with little capital and no property established the antinomic rotations with the middlemen whose disadvantageous terms they were inevitably to accept. Thus the middlemen who did business with the fishermen exercised their authority over them, securing a strong activity foundation in the field of fisheries. But the traditional form of the Kaekiu was transformed and gradually declined in the field of fisheries according as the market rules were proclaimed in 1914.

  • This essay examines the marketing of Fishermen's Cooperative in Korea, and in particular considers the marketing channel of fisheries products, No company can perform by itself all the activities involved in the production and distribution of its products and services to its final markets. It must work with other firm to get the job done. Thus marketing channel firms of the fisheries products include primarily the Fishermen's Cooperative the licensed dealers and tile merchant middlemen, The goal of marketing is in matching of segments of supply and demand. Every producer seeks to the link the marketing channel firms that will help it accomplish its objective best. Therefore this study surveys the three types of marketing channels through tile central market That. is, they are a marketing channel through the terminal market, a marketing channel through the fishermen's cooperative terminal market, and a marketing channel through the private fish market. Consequently the Fishermen's Cooperative can choose to improve in any of tile marketing channel as follows: \circled1 The Fishermen's Cooperative is nominated wholesaler in the terminal market. \circled2 It is abolished to sell by double auction in the production district terminal market and the consuming city terminal market of Fishermen's Coopertive. \circled3 The steady wholesalers in private fish market are entitled to the licensed dealers. \circled4 The Fishermen's Cooperative sponsored voluntary chains join with retailer, supermarkets, consumers' society. Therefore the study of marketing channel of fisheries products can appropriately referred to satisfying needs and wants through exchange process.

대미 수출 수산물의 유통경로 분석 연구 (A Study on the Distribution Channel of Fishery Products Exported to the United States)

  • The United States is Korea's important trading partner, ranking third (13.7%) in exports of fishery products in Korea. The impact on exports to the United States is expected to be significant if the seafood import provisions under the MMPA are implemented in 2024 accordingly. It is expected that documents proving production information will be required for all items when exporting to the U.S. Therefore, this study attempted to examine the current status of exports and exporters in order to understand the actual conditions of major fishery products exported to the United States. Besides, there are currently no official system and procedures in Korea to prove production information for all fishery items, so we tried to suggest implications by examining distribution channels for major export items to the U.S. In this study, five items including seaweed and halibut as domestic aquaculture items, tuna and squid as deep-sea fishing items, and fish cake using imported raw materials were selected as the target items for distribution channel investigation. In addition, this study is meaningful in that it investigated the routes from production to processing, distribution, and export of each item and identified detailed distribution channel for major items exported to the U.S.
