The feeding habits of Paralichthys olivaceus in the Uljin marine ranching area, located on the mid-eastern coast of Korea, were studied from January to November 2009. In total, 381 specimens were collected; fish ranged in size from 15.4 to 59.0 cm in total length. P. olivaceus is a carnivore, mainly consuming other fishes and crustaceans. The prey items of P. olivaceus changed ontogenetically. Small individuals fed on decapod crustaceans while large ones fed heavily on other fishes. The diet of P. olivaceus varied seasonally. Fish comprised the main prey items throughout the year. The stomach contents index (SCI) of each size class increased and the dietary breadth index (DBI) of each size class decreased as individuals grew.

We investigated the ecological characteristics and proximate composition of Muraenesox cinereus off the southern coast of Korea. Anal length distribution, sex ratio, condition factor of M. cinereus individuals caught by costal complex (longline) fisheries were investigated from June to October 2018. The mean anal length was 23.5 cm, which was less than $L_{50}$, indicating that the individuals were mostly immature. Sex ratio is 9:1, we captured 382 females and 29 males, which produced a significantly different ratio (P<0.05). Condition factor remained constant over the study period. The proximate composition of M. cinereus individuals was analyzed from July to October 2018. No significant differences in moisture, crude lipid, crude protein, and ash content were observed between individuals caught in summer and those caught in fall.
Since the declaration made by UN Convention on the Law of the Sea on EEZs, The open seas of Northeast Asia, considerd as a convention area, needed new agreements in conformity with the changes brought by the introduction of the Exclusive Economic Zone(EEZ) system. The Contracting Parties of these agreements set up their own EEZs, which extend certain ranges from their baselines, Fishing in the other party's EEZ is done based on mutual agreements, which take into account traditional fishing activity in the zones. Seperate fishries management systems, in accordance with the relevant legal status of the waters, are applied to individual overlapping areas: Middle Zone in the Bast Sea and the waters south of jeju Island, Interim Measure Zone in the Yellow Sea and East China Sea, and the Transitional Zone in the Yellow Sea. They decided to conclude fisheries agreements as the provisional agreement under Article 74(3) of the UN Convention before the delimitations of the EEZs to avoid the territorial disputes. China and Japan concluded the Fishries Agreement in the November 1997, allowing each coastal State 52 mile EEZ. it was followed by Korea and Japan in September 1998, reaching a final compromise. And also Korea and China came to a satisfactary settlement in November 1998. Fisheries agreements have been established between the three North-east Asian States, the agreement are all bilateral. That implies inefficient resource management on the overlapping waters of the three states, especially on the East China Sea. The Korea-Japan Fisheries Agreement and the China-Japan Fishery Agreement worked as governing rules in the North-east Asian seas before the establishment of EEZs (Exclusive Economic Zones). However the conclusion of the bilateral fishery agreements, Korea China and Japan have developed EEZs, and these three countries have competed for the exploitation of fisheries resources. Therefore, the issue of fisheries resource management was no longer a single countries' problem and emerged as a common issue facing these three countries. In recognition of the above-mentioned problem, it is needed for the construction of cooperative System fishery management in the North-east Asian seas. Therefore, cooperative measures should be establishied. The final goal of the construction of fisheries management cooperative system is to establish sustainable fisheries in the North-east Asian seas. However, there is a big difference in fisheries management tools, fishing gear, exploitation rate of species, etc. This implies that a careful approach should be taken in order to achieve the cooperative fisheries management among Korea, China and Japan. conclusionly, the Governments of Korea, China and Japan should complement three bilateral agreemens, and which they prepares to 'Fisheries Resource Restore Program' Between Korea, China and Japan in the adjacent waters south of Jeju Island.

This study was performed to estimate biomass and to provide management plan through population ecological characteristics, including survival rate, instantaneous coefficient of natural and fishing mortalities, and age at first capture of Flathead grey mullet, Mugil cephalus, in the coastal waters of Yeosu. Survival rate (S) of the flathead grey mullet was 3.671. The instantaneous coefficients of natural mortality (M) and fishing mortality (F) was estimated to be 0.325/year, 0.962/year for flathead grey mullet. Also fist capure age of flathead grey mullet was 3.61year. The current biomass of the flathead grey mullet in the study area was estimated to be 19.6 M/T and $F_{0.1}$ and $F_{40%}$ were estimated 0.340/year, 0.225/year. For the stock assessment result, flathead grey mullet was not overfished but overfishing.

The Japanese fishery management system has been established on the basis of various experience accumulated over many years. The fishery management system in Japan, one of the oldest fishery management systems in the world, is aimed at ensuring comprehensive utilization of the water surface and developing fishery productivity, by giving protection of the breeding environment of aquatic animals and plants, enabling the appropriate use of fishery grounds, preventing and solving disputes over fishery grounds and making other fishery adjustments. Japanese Fishery Law has been changed largely into (1) The Feudal Era(to 1900), (2) The Oldest Fishey Law(1901~48), (3) Current Fishery Law(1949 to present). Japanese fishery legislation is designed as a single package combining coastal, offshore and distant-water fisheries. During the period of the old fishery law, numerous conflicts arose over the joint use of fishing grounds and fish stocks. Such conflicts occurred among users of the same gear as well as between users of different gears or of different sizes of fishing craft. Large scale conflict sometime occurred between neighbouring fishing communities due to a lack of fairness in principle and coordination in practice. Therefore, the new fishery law enacted in 1949. This law was designed primarily to realize the most effective and rational use of fishing grounds and fishery resources, the basic philosophy being that, through democratic organization by fishermen themselves, productivity would be stimulated and incomes and living standards eventually improved. Nowadays, Community Based Fisheries Management through democratic organization by fishermen themselves have to enforce at coastal fisheries. This Community Based Fisheries Management manage to fishery resources by fishermen themselves and harvest in collaboration with that resources. Therefore, this paper is intended to briefly to describe the entire system and the historical development of Japanese fishery legislation in order to assist in reform of our country fisheries management regime.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the ability level of the occupational Basic Competencies of Fisheries and Maritime(F&M) high school students using F&M basic skills scale. In order to achieve the objectives of this study, the level was analyzed with the Fisheries and Maritime ability scale, comparing each grade level & department. This study was applied to the literature and research methods. This research was conducted collecting preliminary data from 1,113 F&M high school freshman and sophomore students. This survey of 46 questions was used to measure for F&M ability scale-divided into 6 areas-marine vocational ethics, marine information capacity, marine elementary knowledge, marine safety management skill, management & utilization marine life and marine consciousness. The results of this study were as follows; First, in F&M high school students' competencies, marine vocational ethics, marine consciousness was higher, marine information capacity, marine elementary knowledge, marine safety management skill were middle, management & utilization marine life was lower. Second, in the grade level, 5 competencies(marine vocational ethics, marine information capacity, marine elementary knowledge, management & utilization life and marine consciousness) were not different, but 2 Grade was higher than 1 Grade in the marine safety management skill. Third, comparing F&M department, Maritime department were higher than fisheries in 5 competencies. But, fisheries department was higher than maritime in the management & utilization life competencies.

Korean distant water tuna longline fishery commenced in 1966 in the Atlantic Ocean. Since then, it has become one of the most important fisheries of Korea. By early of 1970s, total amount of tuna caught in the Atlantic Ocean was the highest among other Korean distant water tuna fisheries, but has become minor since 1990s. The annual catch of tuna and tuna-like species by Korean tuna longline fishery in the Atlantic Ocean was about 1,900 mt in 2013. Bigeye tuna was the predominant species in species composition followed by yellowfin tuna, Albacore tuna, Blue shark and Swordfish. Korean distant water tuna longline fishery have mainly operated in the tropical area of the Atlantic Ocean ($20^{\circ}N{\sim}20^{\circ}S$, $20^{\circ}E{\sim}60^{\circ}W$), fishing ground was almost similar as in the previous years. The length frequency of major species (Bigeye tuna, Yellowfin tuna, Albacore tuna, Blue shark and Swordfish) were estimated. As the result of length (size) frequency data on main species caught by lonline fishery in the Atlantic Ocean, main length intervals of bigeye tuna caught in 2011, 2012 and 2013 were 120~125 cm, 160~165 cm and 130~135 cm, respectively. For yellowfin tuna, those were 125~130 cm, 150~155 cm, 145~150 cm and for albacore, 109 cm, 102 cm, 109 cm and 106 cm respectively. For swordfish caught in 2011, 2012 and 2013, main length intervals were 130~135 cm, 125~135 cm and 125~130 cm, respectively, and for blue shark, 195~200 cm in 2011 and 185~190 cm in 2012, 2013.

A preliminary study on species composition of a Korean purse seine catch landed at cannery was conducted in April 2011. In the cannery, all tuna catch are sliding through a sorting grid panel that filters and drops fish in the buckets by size class (above 9kg, 3.4-9kg, 1.8-3.4kg, 1.4-1.8kg and below 1.4kg). In cannery processing, species sorting was made for skipjack tuna and yellowfin tuna only from catches greater than 3.4kg during filtering but not for bigeye tuna because of difficulties in species identification between bigeye tuna and yellowfin tuna under frozen state. As no species identification was carried out for catch groups less than 3.4kg in the cannery process, this study focused on sorting out skipjack tuna and yellowfin tuna from these groups and then identifying bigeye tuna from all size groups of yellowfin tuna. Using the mixture rate of species obtained from the samples taken, species composition of the landed catch was estimated. As results, cannery research showed 95% for skipjack tuna, 3% for yellowfin tuna and 2% for bigeye tuna in species composition, while vessel logbook data represented 96%, 3% and 1% for skipjack tuna, yellowfin tuna and bigeye tuna, respectively. The proportion of bigeye tuna identified in the cannery was slightly higher than shown in logbook data by 1%.
This study discussed the international reorganization of fisheries in the East China Sea and the Yellow Sea, for the cases of Korea, China and Japan, through the fishery competition and the division of sea areas and resources. In these sea areas, each country has done mutual operation, which causes the fishery competition and controls fishery development. Besides, Exclusive Economic Zon(EEZ) established in 1996 resulted in the prominent changes of fishery development as well as fishery relationship among each country, demands reorganization of fisheries. New fishery order in these sea areas is controlled by BEZ system. The fishery reorganization according to EEZ is a common issue of each country and it also includes the importance of mutual fishery agreement. Resources of fisheries could be used continuously under reasonable management. Each country should consider the stability and existence of fisheries in the international viewpoint. At this point of time, those should be considered such as adjustment of interests according to the division of sea areas, establishment of resource management system and insurance of fishery management, for the subject of fishery reorganization.
This Study attempts to analysis the degrees of the efficiency of fisheries marketing channel's effectiveness, which are traditional marketing channel's effectiveness of fisheries wholesale markets and Discount Store's effectiveness such as margin, marketing performance. The study methodologies include not only a field sample survey but also a field interview. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, at the numbers of fisheries marketing channel's margin factors, traditional marketing channel's margin factors are more than discount store's margin factors. Secondly, at the comparative study result of marketing channel margin efficiency, traditional marketing channel's prices are similar to discount store's prices. That is, consumers have bought similar retail price's seafood products through traditional marketing channels as well as discount stores cannels. Finally, however most consumers prefer discount stores to traditional retail stores because of discount store's multi-functions such as assortment of goods, freshness, exchange, refund and employee's kindness. In conclusion, the most important factor of fisheries marketing management is to realize the appropriate balance between marketing margin and consumer satisfaction.
