Design Development for Fashion Cultural Product Using Traditional Patterns by Tessellation

  • Since the development of patterns using tessellation is applied to a wide range of fields such as clothing, architecture, environment, and products, etc. and its expression principle is also found in various fields such as mathematics and science, etc. However, this pattern is mostly used as a math material with little studies on fashion and culture. In addition, it is thought that Korean traditional culture products need more various and modern design development methods and pattern through preliminary investigation which is simple copy of traditional items, simple copy of Korean Alphabet, Chinese character, and folk paintings. Therefore, it will present the method to make more design cases using Tessellation. Tessellation that combines mathematics and art will be the infinite form of designing of designers as well as creative training way to understand the composition principles of old culture and to raise sense of modern design. Tessellation of regular triangle, regular square, and regular hexagon was performed on the patterns which have meaning of wealth and prosperity of Korean traditional patterns. As the concrete method, first, each side of the regular triangle is developed symmetrically with patterns of fish, turtle, and cicadas. Second, rotational movement after symmetry movement about middle point of one side ${\times}$ 1 symmetry movement about middle point ${\times}$ 1 using crane and cloud, of the regular triangle was performed. Third, the regular square was tessellated parallel movement ${\times}$ 2 with "Da(multi)" and dragon pattern as the source image. Fourth, the sitting tiger was tessellated with symmetry movement about middle point ${\times}$ 2 and parallel movement ${\times}$ 1. Fifth, three bat patterns are tessellated by again rotational movement of two sides after rotational movement of one side and rotational movement of the other side. In addition, It developed traditional culture product design of the scarf, umbrella, aprons, neckties.

버블을 이용한 파랑볼우럭 차단 효과 분석 (Analysis on the Bluegill Blocking Effects using Bubbles)

  • 외래어종의 유입은 토종어류의 감소 및 수중생태계의 교란을 가져올 수 있기 때문에 어류의 차단 및 관리 방안은 반드시 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 외래어종의 유입을 차단하기 위해 버블을 이용한 어류 차단 시스템을 개발하였으며 실험수로를 제작하여 차단 가능성을 평가하였다. 버블 발생장치는 공기압축기로 공기를 발생시켜 버블커튼을 만든 후 어류를 차단하는 시스템이며 실험어류는 국내 외래어종인 파랑볼우럭을 대상으로 하였다. 파랑볼우럭의 크기는 0.10 m ~ 0.15 m이며 수심은 0.70 m를 유지하였다. 실험수로의 유속은 어류의 유영능력을 고려하여 3단계로(0.20 m/s, 0.10 m/s, 0.05 m/s) 나누어 실시하였다. 실험 결과 파랑볼우럭은 버블 적용 전 70.07%가 상류로 거슬러 올라가려는 움직임을 보였으며 하류를 서식처로 생각해 움직임이 거의 없는 개체를 고려하면 어류 소상률은 더 높을 것으로 판단된다. 그러나 차단시설을 설치할 경우 대부분의 어류가 버블커튼에 의해 다시 하류로 회귀하는 움직임을 보여 차단효과가 매우 높게 나타났다. 특히 버블을 종료할 경우 빠른 시간 내 다시 상류로 거슬러 올라간 것으로 보아 버블을 이용한 어류 차단효과는 뛰어난 것으로 판단된다.

어류 추적 기법을 이용한 남해안 욕지도 해역에서 어류의 행동 (The behavioral properties of fish near Yokji Island in the South Sea of South Korea obtained using fish track technique)

  • The objective of this study was to provide fundamental information on fish swimming behavioral properties. Acoustic data was collected at nighttime from the $10^{th}$ to $12^{th}$ March, 2016 near Yokji Island in the South Sea of South Korea, and was analyzed using the fish track technique. This technique is to identify groups of single targets, which shows a pattern of systematic movement. As a result, the differences of the behavioral properties such as depth, swimming speed, vertical direction, horizontal direction, tortuosity, and depth change among days were minor; however, statistical results (Welch analysis of variance) showed significant difference between days. Especially, the target strength (TS) of the $11^{th}$ were significantly different from the $10^{th}$ and $12^{th}$. It could be assumed that gizzard shad, which was the dominant species from the catch on the $11^{th}$ March, might have affected this difference. The correlation between TS and other properties was very week. The significant difference seemed even small differences of average values because of the large data volume.

어안 렌즈 카메라 영상을 이용한 기절동작 인식 (Development of a Fall Detection System Using Fish-eye Lens Camera)

  • 이 논문은 응급상황을 인식하기 위하여 어안렌즈를 통해 획득된 영상을 이용하여 기절 동작을 인식하는 방법을 제안한다. 거실의 천장 중앙에 위치한 어안렌즈(fish-eye lens)를 장착한 카메라로부터 영상을 입력 받은 뒤, 가우시안 혼합 모델 기반의 적응적 배경 모델링 방법을 이용하여 전경 픽셀을 추출한다. 그리고 연결되어 있는 전경픽셀 영역들의 외곽점들을 추적하여 타원으로 매핑한다. 이 타원을 추적하면서 어안 렌즈 영상을 투시 영상으로 변환한 다음 타원의 크기 변화, 위치 변화, 이동 속도정보를 추출하여 이동과 정지 및 움직임이 기절동작과 유사한지를 판단한다. 실험 결과 어안 렌즈 영상을 그대로 사용하는 것보다 투시 영상으로 변환하여 타원의 크기변화, 위치변화, 이동속도 정보를 추출하는 방법이 보다 높은 인식률을 보였다.

제주바다목장 해역 내 인공 어초군에 서식하는 어류군집의 종조성 및 계절변동 (Seasonal variation and species composition of fishes communities in artificial reef unit at marine ranching area in the coastal waters off Jeju island, Korea)

  • This study monitored a variety of marine fish communities in artificial reefs unit of the total 5 types (Dice type, Octagonal turtle type, Two-stage tube type, Gazebo type, Tetrapod type) which are located in the marine ranching at Jeju island by scuba diving in May, July, October and December 2009. Underwater photographing was accomplished at total 3 phases (condition of artificial reefs photographing, concentric circle movement photographing and line transect photographing). The preservation condition of artificial reefs facility was very good, and the dominant species were Chromis notatus, Sebastes thompsoni, Oplegnathus fasciatus and Halichoeres poecilopterus. Fish abundance was high in May and June, and low in October and December, 2009. Chromis notatus was dominant at the all types of artificial reefs, Halichoeres poecilopterus for Gazebo type and Tetrapod type of artificial reefs, and Sebastes thompsoni for Dice type, Octagonal turtle type and Two-stage tube type of artificial reefs.

어도 설계를 위한 붕어의 한계유영유속 결정 연구 (Determination of Critical Swimming Velocity for Crucian Carp for Fishway Design)

  • 대부분의 어류가 생존을 위해 회유 또는 이동하는 특성이 있음에도 불구하고 국내에 설치된 어도는 평상시에 고유속과 저수심의 흐름이 발생할 수 있어 어류의 이동에 장애가 되고 있는 실정이다. 또한 어도에 관한 국내 설계기준상 국내 하천에 서식하는 다양한 어종별 유영특성을 고려하지 못하는 한계가 있다. 따라서 어도의 기능을 확보하기 위한 설계기준의 마련이 필요하며, 이를 위해 국내 회유성 어종의 유영특성과 어도의 수리특성에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 붕어를 대상으로 증진유속방법과 고정유속방법을 수행하여 가능한 객관적인 어류의 유영특성을 분석하고 한계유영유속을 제시하였다. 증진유속방법 실험을 수행한 결과 붕어는 0.7 m/s ~ 0.8 m/s로 하는 것이 바람직한 것으로 확인되었다. 고정유속방법 실험을 수행한 결과 붕어의 경우는 0.8 m/s 정도로 확인되었다. 따라서 두 실험 방법을 종합적으로 분석한 결과 어도설계를 위한 한계유영유속을 결정하면 붕어의 경우는 약 0.8 m/s로 판단된다. 향후 다양한 회유성 어종에 대해 유영특성의 실험적 연구를 수행하여 어도설계를 위한 대상어종별 유영특성을 고려한 어도설계기준 마련이 필요하다.

간흡충 제이중간숙주에 관한 실험적 연구 IV. 치리체내에 있어서 간흡충 피낭유충의 운명 (Experimental Studied on the Second Intermediate HoBts of Clonorchis sinensis IV. Observations on the fate of metacercariae of Clonorchis sinensie in the fish hast, CuffricuEus eigenmunni)

  • In order to judge appropriately the suitability as the second intermediate host of Clonorchis sinensis, the present experiments were proposed to survey the metacercaria of C. sinensis in the fish host, Cuztriculus eigenmanni, in the 6eld, and to observe, by experimental infection of the fish with Clonorchis cercaria, the penetrating ability of the cercaria, maturity, the process of degeneration and extinction, and infectivity of the metacercaria. The following is a brie summary of the leading facts gained through the experiments. 1. All the ten fish (mean body weight $13.4{\pm}3.439$) which were caught in Ok-ku irrigation reservoir were in acted with the metacercariae and the average number of the metacercariae found in the fish body/gram was 4.55. 2. The Bish was easily subject to invasion of the cercaria, and the examination of the cercariae after having the fish infected disclosed that 5:l hours after the infection, all of the cercariae formed their cysts in muscle and the metacercariae kept growing, that 7 days later the metacercariae were found folding their bodies twice, and that in 15 days the characteristic structure of the metacercariae was complete and made a vigorous rotary movement intermittently. 3. In the case of control fish, Pseudorasbora parka, both penetrating ability of the cercariae and the infective degree of the metacercariae to control host were stronger as compared with the 5sh host because that the control fish had higher suceptibility to C. sinensis. 4. Afterwards, the metacercariae in the fish host came to a state of maturity and beyond this stage some metacercariae started the Process of degeneration and extinction in as early as 30 days, and as more days elapsed, mortality of the metacercariae was not uniformly increased but difference of mortality appeared to be according to the individual of Ssh host. That is, in 390, 540 and 586 days, all of the metacercariae in the fish hosts became dead, meanwhile almost all of those found in the fish host of 596 days after the infection survived (mortality; 8, 51%) , Percentage of orally administered metacercariae developing to maturity in rabbit is 10.465 in the last case. 5. As the days were progressed the shapes of the metacercariae in the fish host tended to change from ellipsoid to almost round shapes, the length became shorter while the width was wider. The results shown above revealed that C. eigenmanni was, though it could not be proper host than p. larva. suitable as the second intermediate host in addition to our previous observation results.

국내 6개 하천에서 어도를 이용하는 어류상 (Fish Fauna Using Fishway on Six River in Korea)

  • 국내 주요 6개 하천의 보에 설치된 어도에서 2~9년 이상 매월 연속적이고 장기적으로 어류의 어도이용을 조사하였다. 어류의 어도 이용은 어도 출구부에서 trap에 의한 직접 채집 방법으로 조사하였다. 6개 지점의 어도를 이용하는 어류와 하천에 서식하는 어류의 군집구조는 차이를 보였다. 어류의 어도 이용은 대략 2~7종이 전체의 80% 이상을 차지하였다. 이것은 어류의 어도 이용이 종적 생리특성에 따라 특화된 결과로 보이며, 단순히 어도에서의 흐름에 따라 어도 이용을 유인하는 경우는 많지 않은 것으로 보인다. 또한, 6개 지점에서 어도 이용 어류의 분포는 하천의 위치 및 보에 설치된 어도형식에 따라 달랐다. 이러한 차이는 해양 및 하구로부터 이동한 회유종의 분포 여부에 의한 결과로 보인다. 또한, 어도형식에 따른 수리특성의 차이도 영향을 주었다. 대체로 어도 내부에서 상대적으로 빠른 유속을 보이는 버티컬슬롯식 어도에서 어도이용 종수가 적고 유영능력이 좋은 어류의 비율이 높았다. 어도를 이용하는 주요 어류의 분석결과는 어도 계획과 이를 위한 주요 대상종의 선정에 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

Neurobiochemical Analysis of Abnormal Fish Behavior Caused by Copper Toxicity

  • The goal of this study is to develop a biomarker used in monitoring abnormal behaviors of Japanese medaka (Oryzias latipes) as a model organism caused by hazardous chemicals. Japanese medaka was treated under appropriate sublethal concentrations of copper and the fish were subjected to copper treatment after starvation for 48 hr. The untreated individuals showed common behavioral characteristics (i.e., smooth and linear movements with small curvatures) in the movement behaviors.

Bycatch Reduction by Experimental Shaking Codend Attached with Canvas in a Bottom Trawl

  • An active stimulating method for juvenile fishes to drive escaping from mesh of the codend was examined by shaking canvas in the bottom trawl followed by shrimp beam trawl. Field fishing trials by a bottom trawl were carried out between the Geomoondo and Jejudo in west of South sea, Korea by conver-net methods to examine the effect on the reduction of juvenile fish as a discard catch by generating a shaking movement of the codend using two pieces of asymmetrical semi-circular canvas. The mean period of the shaking motion with the round canvas was 10-15 s, and the range of amplitude as a vertical depth change was up to 0.4-0.6 m when towing speed 3.4-4.3 k't as estimated by peak event analysis. The escape rate of juvenile fish in conver-net by total juvenile bycatch (codend and cover-net) in 14 trials increased from 20% in a steady codend to 34% using a shaking codend in the bottom trawl, while the marketing catch or total bycatch was similar between steady and shaking cod ends. There was no difference in the body size of the fish and species composition between the steady and shaking cod ends. Above results demonstrate a new method for bycatch reduction actually up to 18% using an active stimulating device, although further experiments are needed to increase an effective shaking motion of the codend in amplitude and period for more bycatch reduction.
