Urban sewer systems has a limitation of capacity of rainwater storage and problem of occurrence of untreated sewage, so adopting a storage facility for sewer flooding prevention and urban non-point pollution reduction has a big attention. The Korea Ministry of Environment has recently introduced a new concept of "multi-functional storage facility", which is crucial not only in preventive stormwater management but also in dealing with combined sewer overflow and sanitary sewer discharge, and also has been promoting its adoption. However, reserving a space for a single large-scale storage facility might be difficult especially in urban areas. Thus, decentralized construction of small- and midium-sized storage facilities and its operation have been introduced as an alternative way. In this paper, we propose a model predictive control scheme for an optimized operation of distributed storage facilities and sewer networks. To this aim, we first describe the mathematical model of each component of networks system which enables us to analyze its detailed dynamic behavior. Second, overflow locations and volumes will be predicted based on the developed network model with data on the external inflow occurred at specific locations of the network. MPC scheme based on the introduced particle swarm optimization technique then produces the optimized the gate setting for sewer network flow control, which minimizes sewer flooding and maximizes the potential storage capacity. Finally, the operational efficacy of the proposed control scheme is demonstrated by simulation study with virtual rainstorm event.
This is the first Korea study to evaluate the effects od the safety of ambulance driving and the occurrence of ambulance traffic accidents and to provide basic informaion for the description of various factors to reduce the ambulance traffic accidents. The major insturment of this study were Krean Self-Analysis Driver Opinionnaire. Questionnaire contains 8 items which measure driver's opinions or attitudes : driving courtesy, emotion, traffic law, speed, vehicle conditions, the use of drugs, high-risk behaviors, and human factors. To take the analysis of data, the total of 350 divers were investigated ambulance divers and others in Taejon City and others (6 City) from 1996. 1. July to 1996. 31. July. The data were analyzed by the descriptive statistics and the logistic regression - path analysis - with SPSS and SAS package program. The result are as follows : 1. There was desirable attitude group(16.2%) and undesirable attitude group(17.6%) on safety ambulance driving. 2. It have suggested that risk factors of ambulance traffic accidents much affected with emotion and speed control on safety ambulance driving < Y(Accdient) = -2.64 + 0.57 $X_1$ (Emotion Control) + 0.30 $X_2$(Seed control) + E > and motor traffic acident much affected with emotion control and high-risk behavior on safety driving < Y(Accident) = -1.11 + 0.33 $X_1$(Emotion Control) + 0.29 $X_2$(High-risk Behvior) + E > 4. The primary emphassis of ambulance drivers was make us realized that improthatnt factors on safety ambulance driving were 1)making way for emergent ambulance, 2)driver's career, 3)The ability of emergency medical technics, and the knowledge or under standing of ambulance way difficut(or easy) of accdess. 5. Almost 96.6% of respondents have agreed to necessity of emergency medical technics for ambulance drivers. 6. Almost 94.6% of respondents have consented to necessity of emergtency medical technicians for ambulance driving. 7. It have suggested that the proportion of traffic accident proportion by desitable attitude group(16.7%) was much less than that of undesirable attitude group(30.8%) on safety ambulance driving(P < 0.05)/Ps) Accidents are unplanned, unforesen incidents which can lead to harmful or unfortunate outcomes, Collisons are not accidents, since the basic cause of the majority of collisons invovles high-risk human behavior. Although there are many factors which contribute to accident causation, four basic factors seem to predominate in most traffic related situations. These four factors include: the human factor, the vehicle factor, the environmental factors and destination factor(Peto G. et al. 1995).
When reactor coolant leaks occur due to cracks of a steam generator's tube, radioactive materials contained in the primary cooling water in nuclear power plant are forced out toward the secondary systems. At this time the secondary water purification resin in the ion exchange resin tower of the steam generator blowdown system is contaminated by the radioactivity of the leaked radioactive materials, so we pack this in special containers and store temporarily because we could not dispose it by ourselves. If steam generator tube leakage occurs, it produces contaminated spent resins annually about 5,000~7,000 liters. This may increase the amount of nuclear waste productions, a disposal working cost and a unit price of generating electricity in the plant. For this reasons, it is required to develop a decontamination process technique for reducing the radioactive level of these resins enough to handle by the self-disposal method. In this research, First, Investigated the structure and properties of the ion exchange resin used in a steam generator blowdown system. Second, Checked for a occurrence status of contaminated spent resin and a disposal technology. Third, identified the chemical characteristics of the waste radionuclides of the spent resin, and examined ionic bonding and separation mechanism of radioactive nuclear species and a spent resin. Finally, we carried out the decontamination experiment using chemicals, ultrasound, microbubbles, supercritical carbon dioxide to process these spent resin. In the case of the spent resin decontamination method using chemicals, the higher the concentration of the drug decontamination efficiency was higher. In the ultrasound method, foreign matter of the spent resin was removed and was found that the level of radioactivity is below of the MDA. In the microbubbles method, we found that the concentration of the radioactivity decreased after the experiment, so it can be used to the decontamination process of the spent resin. In supercritical carbon dioxide method, we found that it also had a high decontamination efficiency. According to the results of these experiments, almost all decontamination method had a high efficiency, but considering the amounts of the secondary waste productions and work environment of the nuclear power plant, we judged the ultrasound and supercritical carbon dioxide method are suitable for application to the plant and we established the plant applicable decontamination process system on the basis of these two methods.

The purpose of this study is to analyze how managers' reporting choices affect asymmetric cost behaviors in manufacturing firms in Korea and Japan. In order to analyze the contents, SG&A, COGS, and operating expenses (OE), which were the targets of the previous studies, were analyzed using the operating costs paid in cash (OC) and the operating expenses before depreciation (OEBD) proposed by Shust and Weiss (2014). The differentiation of cost behavior was analyzed. The analysis revealed, first, that both Korea and Japan showed the difference between cost behavior of OE and OC. Specifically, the cost stickiness of OC was higher than that of OE. In particular, it showed that Korea firms have a higher intensity of tangible fixed assets that are weakening the cost stickiness compared to Japanese firms. Second, the occurrence of depreciation costs weakens the cost stickiness in both countries. Lastly, the higher the debt ratio, the more aggressively the cost reduction of Japanese companies. We hope that this study will help to improve the relationship between the two countries at the academic level when the Korea-Japan relationship cools down.
In this study, we explore the characteristics of directors' network structure and investigate the relationship among the network of board directors in the Korean logistics industry. Social network analysis reveals hidden patterns of the interlocking directors' network. We construct a directors' network index using social network analysis of the Korean logistics industry. Empirical results have showed that of the 23 companies analyzed, the network index of Korean Air is the highest. The interlocking network index of Korean Air, Hanjin and Hanjin Logistics Company is 0.4, 0.32 and 0.24 respectively. Korean Air has a strong central interlocking network that can create social power through the logistics industry. Our paper contributes to the broad literature in two ways. First, unlike the existing literature on director structure, this paper concentrates on the relationship among interlocking directors. Second, logistics firms need to be aware of the importance of networks and recognize the occurrence of power.
In the modern society, the number of people in disaster vulnerable groups is rapidly increasing such as the elderly, the disabled, foreigners, and children. The common characteristics of the groups vulnerable to disasters are that they live in residence types that are exposed to disasters because they are impoverished and if they are exposed to disasters, recovery is a slow process. The purpose of this study is to identify the new risk issues by performing risk issue analysis on the targets of disaster vulnerable group and provide base data for the development of the policies. For the research method, this study centered on the cases of children and pregnant women out of the disaster vulnerable groups and focused on the issue data of social media throughout the past 10 years ('10~'19) and performed social network analysis. As a result, first, the development of the issue showed relevance in the occurrence of specific cases. Second, the awareness about the types, targets, and management method of crisis management was analyzed. Third, an analysis was performed on the sentiment words that considered the solution measures of risk issues or the characteristics of the targets and it was analyzed that there were word that triggered negative emotions. Therefore, it is anticipated for the base data to be used for the government and also for the local government to build an effective crisis management system of the rapidly changing disaster environment on the basis of the sentiment analysis performed on the people of the nation as well as public awareness.
In the twenty-first century, one of the most controversial issues concerns neoliberal policies and its results. In particular, since the mid-1980s, the United States and international financial institutions have imposed their programs on Latin American countries. The result is a deepening social inequality in Latin America that puts an emphasis on financial stability instead of social security. Consequently, social inequality is worsened and an imbalance in income distribution took place. Because of the flexibility of labor, the middle class is destroyed. For the poor person deprived of the opportunity to rise, violence is a common occurrence in daily life. Thus, in this context, Eduardo Galeano raises the necessity of a critique concerning the values that neoliberalism regards as important. Furthermore, Galeano is also wary of the "militarization of neoliberalism." This is because the neoliberal multinationals motivate a war without borders under the guise of peace. Neo-liberal policies also contribute to environmental pollution. However, environmental vandalism, which happens in partnership with large and international organizations, is not readily apparent to the public because those perpetrators wore a "green mask." Hence, Galeano assiduously endeavors to undercover the false consciousness hiding behind the green mask. Thus, in brief summary, Galeano represents in his works a depiction about Latin America where violence often happens in daily life.
In this study, the occurrence and degree of herding behavior as a market participant behavior in a housing market were analyzed. For the analysis method, the actual sales price was applied in the CSAD (Cross-sectional Absolute Deviation) model, which has been used the most of late for herding behavior analysis. For the analysis contents, these were subdivided into region, elapsed year, size, and market condition to analyze the regionality and the internal and external factors. For the study results, first, there was no herding behavior in the entire region of Seoul. By region, herding behavior occurred in the downtown, southeast, and northwest regions, which coincided with the results of the precedent study (Ngene et al., 2017). Second, in the market analysis by elapsed year, herding behavior was captured in dilapidated dwellings. By size, herding behavior was observed in small-scale ($60m^2$ or less) apartments and in $85m^2$ or higher and less than $102m^2$ national housing units. Third, during the time of the global financial crisis, herding behavior was not observed in all the regions, whereas when the market situations were in a boom cycle, it was observed in the northwest region. These results suggest that there is a difference from the stock market, where in a period of recession, herding behavior occurs intensively with the expanding fear of incurring losses. This study is significant in that it analyzed the market participant behaviors in the behavioral economic aspects to better understand the abnormal phenomenon in a housing market, and in that it additionally provides a psychological factor - market participant behavior - in market analysis.

In systems such as railways, automobiles, and airplanes, system malfunctions may lead to accidents, which often cause serious personal injury and economic loss. In previous studies, failure analysis has been performed, and safety measures derived using the component level information to reduce damage when a failure occurs. However, in functional safety concept, a focus is placed on lowering the frequency of occurrence of failures by performing risks analysis, setting up safety goals, and designing safety functions. Therefore, it is necessary to study how to determine the required safety function that can reduce the failure frequency to the acceptable level. To achieve this, we first studied a failure modeling method using SysML. It was then presented how several alternatives can be assessed to determine the desired safety function by simulating the generated SysML failure models and calculating the ability to reduce the failure frequency. A case study of a railway signaling system was done, demonstrating the effectiveness of the approach. We assessed whether the safety objectives were met for the alternative design of the railway signaling system through M & S. The results can be useful in that it can be applied from the early design phase and allow to choose the appropriate safety function that satisfies safety objectives among various design alternatives.

This paper is a purpose to study the failure example for heavy-duty vehicle fire. The first example, the researcher found the engine over-heating phenomenon causing a coolant leakage by the sealing poor of head-gasket because of D-ring part deformation contacting with cylinder liner top-part and cylinder head. He certified a fire breakout by short transferred to surrounding wiring of air-cleaner. The second example, a brake lining by return fault of break operating S cam causing with much wear of a rear 4 wheel brake lining repeatably was worn by friction. In the long run, it became the cause of fire. The third example, the researcher knew the fire cause was came about the short of wire by overload of tilting motor when the driver tilted up the cap to inspect a engine. Therefore, a heavy-duty fire must minimize the fire occurrence by thorough controlling.
