A digital signature scheme provides integrity of the document, authentication and non-repudiation of a signer. Usually the key for digital signature is stored in hard disk or removal disk storage. The drawback of this approach is that the signer can let the agent to sign instead of the signer by providing the key information. It can be abused in applications such as electronic election. In this paper, we propose the undeniable biometric digital multi-signature scheme suitable for applications where the signer should not make an agent sign instead of himself/herself. The undeniable multi-signature scheme requires many signers and only the designated user can confirm the authenticity of multi-signature. The proposed scheme satisfies undeniable property and it is secure against active attacks such as modification and denial of the multi-signature by signers. As the key is generated through the signer's fingerprint image, it's also secure against signing by an agent.
Saussurea costus (Falc.) Lipchitz syn S. lappa C. B. Clarke (commonly known as 'Kuth') belonging to the family Asteraceae is a well known medicinal plant which finds wide usage in different indigenous systems of medicine of India, China, Korea & Tibet. In different folk medicines the roots of S. costus are used to treat various disorders like ulcer, stomachache, malaria, leprosy, dysentery and toothache. However due to over exploitation, it has become endangered and has become the concern of different governmental bodies in India. The increasing demand of this endangered Himalayan species has resulted in a situation where it is often substituted, knowingly or unknowingly, by other morphologically similar species. Arctium lappa, belonging to the same family, is one such plant that has often been found to be present in the market samples of 'Kuth'. The present study was thus carried out and morphoanatomical characters, physicochemical as well as chemical parameters were developed for proper identification of roots of S. costus and its differenciation from A. lappa as well as authentication of the commercial market samples. The detailed morphoanatomical studies revealed that roots of S. costus can be distinguished from A. lappa on the basis of some important microscopial characters eg. the schizogenous resin ducts observed in roots of S. costus, were absent in A. lappa.. Besides, the HPTLC fingerprint profile showed a distinct band at Rf. 0.72 in S. costus, which was totally absent in A. lappa and a band at $R_f$ 0.64 in A. lappa which was absent in S. costus Chlorogenic acid, used as a chemical marker for HPTLC analysis, was estimated to be 0.077% in S. costus as compared to 0.107% in A. lappa. Thus these detailed pharmacognostical parameters can be successfully used to distinguish between roots of S. costus and A. lappa.

In recent years, biometric authentication has been used for various applications. Since biometric features are unchangeable and cannot be revoked unlike other personal information, there is increasing concern about leakage of biometric information. Recently, Jin et al. proposed a new cancelable biometric scheme, called "Index-of-Max" (IoM) to protect fingerprint template. The authors presented two realizations, namely, Gaussian random projection-based and uniformly random permutation-based hashing schemes. They also showed that their schemes can provide high accuracy, guarantee the security against recently presented privacy attacks, and satisfy some criteria of cancelable biometrics. However, the authors did not provide experimental results for other biometric features (e.g. finger-vein, iris). In this paper, we present the results of applying Jin et al.'s scheme to iris data. To do this, we propose a new method for processing iris data into a suitable form applicable to the Jin et al.'s scheme. Our experimental results show that it can guarantee favorable accuracy performance compared to the previous schemes. We also show that our scheme satisfies cancelable biometrics criteria and robustness to security and privacy attacks demonstrated in the Jin et al.'s work.
Block chains began by recognizing the danger of centralized control of financial systems after the 2008 financial crisis. From the beginning of 2008, blockchain has been developing a lot of attention and technology, starting with a tremendous innovation called cryptographic destruction based on technology, a block chain called Bitcoin. However, the vulnerability has also been discovered over time and the damage has been repeated. But in the fourth industry of the 21st century, many advances and technologies based on them are expected to emerge. Therefore, this paper proposes new analytical transaction protocols for vulnerabilities in cryptographic currency transactions. The proposed transaction protocol is a way to authenticate once again at the end of the transaction and the transaction is concluded with this authentication. It presents countermeasures by adding security elements between users to the transaction process rather than internal security to transaction vulnerabilities.

In this article, the authors focus on the use of smart CCTV, a combnation of biometric recognition technology and AI algorithms. In fact, the advancements in relevant technologies brought a significant increase in the use of biometric information - fingerprint, retina, iris or facial recognition - across diverse sectors. Both the public and private sectors, with the developments of biometric technology, widely adopt and use an individual's biometric information for different reasons. For instance, smartphone users highly count on biometric technolgies for the purpose of security. Public and private orgazanitions control an access to confidential information-controlling facilities with biometric technology. Biometric infomration is known to be unique and immutable in the course of one's life. Given the uniquness and immutability, it turned out to be as reliable means for the purpose of authentication and verification. However, the use of biometric information comes with cost, posing a privacy issue. Once it is leaked, there is little chance to recover damages resulting from unauthorized uses. The governments across the country fully understand the threat to privacy rights with the use of biometric information and AI. The EU and the United States amended their data protection laws to regulate it. South Korea aligned with them. Yet, the authors point out that Korean data aprotection law still requires more improvements to minimize a concern over privacy rights arising from the wide use of biometric information. In particular, the authors stress that it is necessary to amend Section (2) of Article 23 of PIPA to reflect the concern by changing the basis for permitting the processing of sensitive information from 'the Statutes' to 'the Acts'.
In Korea, currently, only the growth possibility of bioinformation industry has received the public attention, and social discussion on bioinformation management is meager. Based on this critical perspective, this study investigates the current status of public awareness of the bioinformation which can be a basis for the social discussion for bioinformation management. The most significant characteristics identified in the survey is that many citizens, while expressing their agreement on the use of biometric technology by purpose and taking an open stance on national fingerprint information collection, have considerable concern for the identity authentication system using the current biometric technology. In particular, the survey pointed out that it is hard to trust the institutions that collect the bioinformation. Also, the public expressed the particular concern for the health data including the body information and showed overwhelming consent for the necessity of more stringent regulation compared with other personal information. In regards to the medical information gathered from medical institutions, nearly 80% of the survey respondents did not agree on providing the information to commercial enterprises, and even 60% of them disagreed on using it for academic and statistical research. This result well demonstrates that thorough management of the bioinformation is required for its utilization.
In this paper, we propose the development of a smart space security device that can be opened and closed remotely using IoT. Existing space security devices can control opening and closing by breaking hardware or only using button devices or replicated keys. The recent COVID-19 crisis has created several applications for non-contact devices. In this study, we propose the development of a small space security device that has the function of unlocking through an app without touching the device. By transferring the control authority to a smartphone, device that cannot be opened or closed by only operating hardware at the user's option. It is convenient and hygienic because it can be opened and closed using an app without touching the locking device. Multiple security is possible because security can be released using an app after user authentication by fingerprint recognition and pattern input on a smartphone. If the user wishes, after using the app security, the security is released by directly touching a button installed in the safe or space or opening it with a key. In addition, by adding an inactive function to the app, it is designed so that the door of the safe cannot be opened when the key is lost or the small safe is lost. This study is expected to be able to effectively expand the security system by applying variously to objects that require security.
In Korea, a resident registration card has various personal information such as a present address, a resident registration number, a face picture and a fingerprint. A plastic-type resident card currently used is easy to forge or alter and tricks of forgery grow to be high-degree as time goes on. So, whether a resident card is forged or not is difficult to judge by only an examination with the naked eye. This paper proposed an automatic recognition method of a resident card which recognizes a resident registration number by using a refined ART2-based RBF network newly proposed and authenticates a face picture by a template image matching method. The proposed method, first, extracts areas including a resident registration number and the date of issue from a resident card image by applying Sobel masking, median filtering and horizontal smearing operations to the image in turn. To improve the extraction of individual codes from extracted areas, the original image is binarized by using a high-frequency passing filter and CDM masking is applied to the binaried image fur making image information of individual codes better. Lastly, individual codes, which are targets of recognition, are extracted by applying 4-directional contour tracking algorithm to extracted areas in the binarized image. And this paper proposed a refined ART2-based RBF network to recognize individual codes, which applies ART2 as the loaming structure of the middle layer and dynamicaly adjusts a teaming rate in the teaming of the middle and the output layers by using a fuzzy control method to improve the performance of teaming. Also, for the precise judgement of forgey of a resident card, the proposed method supports a face authentication by using a face template database and a template image matching method. For performance evaluation of the proposed method, this paper maked metamorphoses of an original image of resident card such as a forgey of face picture, an addition of noise, variations of contrast variations of intensity and image blurring, and applied these images with original images to experiments. The results of experiment showed that the proposed method is excellent in the recognition of individual codes and the face authentication fur the automatic recognition of a resident card.
