X-선 형광분광법을 이용한 대기부유분진중 중금속의 농도분포에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Distribution of Heavy Metal Concentrations in Ambient Suspended Particulate Matters Using the X-ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy)

  • The x-ray fluorescence(XRF) is one of the most convenient and widely used techniques for analyzing trace elements in ambient particulate matters. The objects of the study were to estimate the optimum exposure time using the XRF, to investigate the distributions of heavy metal levels in particulate matters, and finally to study seasonal variation for the concentrations of total suspended particulate matters(TSP) and size fractionated particulate matters. The suspended particulate matters had been collected by a cascade impactor having 9 size fragnated stages for 3 years(Dec. 1988 to Nov. 1991) in Kyung Hee University-Suwon Campus. The particulate matters were then collected on each stage by membrane filters. The weight concentrations were determined by the XRF system. Thus, seasonal variations and relationship between concentration and particle size could be investigated. Resulting distribution was bimodal with the coarse and the fine particle groups minimum occurring around 2.1 to 3.3 $\mu$m as an aerodynamic diameter. To determine optimum exposure time of the XRF for various trace inorganic elements, membrane filters and the NIST standard filters were extensively studied. Using a statistical technique, optimum exposure time was estimated for each trace element and overall elements. The time was then determined as 20 seconds for the XRF system. The concentration of TSP was 123.9$\mum/m^3$ on an arithmatic average. The levels of each inorganic metal were Si 2420.0ng/$m^3$, Fe 977.1ng/$m^3$, and so on. The Pb. Zn, and Cu abounded in the fine mode group, while Ca, Fe, Si, Al, and K in the coarse group. Marked seasonal variation of TSP and metal concentrations was observed. The concentration of heavy metals in the fine mode was highest in winter : on the other hand, that in the coarse mode was highest in spring.

Physical, Chemical and Optical Properties of Fine Aerosol as a Function of Relative Humidity at Gosan, Korea during ABC-EAREX 2005

  • The water uptake by fine aerosol in the atmosphere has been investigated at Gosan, Korea during ABC-EAREX 2005. The concentration of inorganic ion and carbon components, size distribution, and light scattering coefficients in normal and dry conditions were simultaneously measured for $PM_{2.5}$ by using a parallel integrated monitoring system. The result of this study shows that ambient fine particles collected at Gosan were dominated by water-soluble ionic species (35%) and carbonaceous materials (18%). In addition, it shows the large growth of aerosol in the droplet mode when RH is higher than 70%. Size distribution of the particulate surface area in a wider size range ($0.07-17{\mu}m$) shows that the elevation of RH make ambient aerosol grow to be the droplet mode one around $0.6{\mu}m$ or the coarse mode one, larger than $2.5{\mu}m$. Hygroscopic factor data calculated from the ratio of aerosol scattering coefficients at a given ambient RH and a reference RH (25%) show that water uptake began at the intermediate RH range, from 40% to 60%, with the average hygroscopic factor of 1.10 for 40% RH, 1.11 for 50% RH, and 1.17 for 60% RH, respectively. Finally, average chemical composition and the corresponding growth curves were analyzed in order to investigate the relationship between carbonaceous material fraction and hygroscopicity. As a result, the aerosol growth curve shows that inorganic salts such as sulphate and nitrate as well as carbonaceous materials including OC largely contribute to the aerosol water uptake.

제주 고산 조대입자와 미세입자의 질량, 질산염, 황산염 변화와 고농도 특성 (Source Signature of Mass, Nitrate and Sulfate in Supermicron and Submicron Aerosols at Gosan Superstation on Jeju Island)

  • Aerosol particles with different size-cuts ($PM_{10}$, $PM_{2.5}$, and $PM_{1.0}$) were collected at Gosan Superstation on Jeju Island from August 2007 to June 2008. Mean concentrations of $PM_{10}$, $PM_{2.5}$ and $PM_{1.0}$ were $29.28{\mu}gm^{-3}$, $17.83{\mu}gm^{-3}$, and $14.30{\mu}gm^{-3}$, respectively. Soluble ions comprised 45.7%, 53.9%, and 60.3% of the total mass of $PM_{10}$, $PM_{2.5}$, and $PM_{1.0}$, respectively. While sulfate was the most dominant species of fine mode ($PM_{1.0}$), nitrate was enriched in coarse mode ($PM_{1.0-10}$). When the concentrations of coarse mode particles were greatly increased, nitrate tended to be enhanced in coarse mode with high calcium but low sulfate concentrations. During the high $PM_{1.0}$ events, however, nitrate was increased with sulfate at fine mode. Particularly, nitrate concentrations were substantially enhanced during high particle episodes, leading high ratios of nitrate to sulfate in air under northwest wind during wintertime. On the other hand, the levels of nitrate were lower than those of sulfate at average particle concentrations. The backward air mass trajectories indicated that nitrate concentrations were elevated in air arriving Gosan passing through Santung peninsula or near South Korea.

3GPP LTE FDD/TDD 듀얼 모드 하향 링크 수신기를 위한 개선된 주파수 동기 알고리즘 (An Enhanced Frequency Synchronization Algorithm for 3GPP LTE FDD/TDD Dual Mode Downlink Receiver)

  • 본 논문에서는 3GPP(3rd Generation Partnership Project) LTE(Long Term Evolution) FDD(Frequency Division Duplexing) / TDD(Time Division Duplexing) 듀얼 모드 하향 링크 수신기를 위한 주파수 동기 알고리즘을 제안한다. 일반적으로 3GPP LTE OFDMA(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) 시스템에서의 대략적 주파수 동기는 PSS(Primary Synchronization Signal)를 이용한 상관 방식이 적용되며, 미세 주파수 동기는 OFDMA 심볼의 보호 구간(CP: Cyclic Prefix) 상관 방식이 적용된다. 그러나 기존의 대략적 주파수 동기 알고리즘들은 페이딩 환경에서 상관 패턴의 열화와 잡음의 제곱으로 인한 SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) 손실로 충분한 성능 이득을 얻지 못한다. 또한 주파수 분할을 통하여 양방향 송수신되는 FDD 모드와 달리 TDD 모드에서는 상향링크 구간과 하향링크 구간이 시분할로 전송되기 때문에 TDD 모드에서 기존 미세 주파수 동기 알고리즘은 상향링크와 하향링크의 신호 전력의 차이로 인해 안정적인 동작을 수행할 수 없다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존 방식의 문제점을 분석하고, 이를 기반으로 3GPP LTE FDD 모드뿐 아니라, TDD 모드에서도 안정적인 동작이 가능한 주파수 동기 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 다양한 환경에서의 컴퓨터 모의실험을 통해 제안된 주파수 동기 알고리즘은 기존 방식들에 비해 우수한 성능을 보이며, 3GPP LTE FDD/TDD 듀얼 모드 하향 링크 수신기에서 안정적인 동작이 가능함을 입증하였다.

퍼지제어를 이용한 수중운동체의 구동장치설계 (Design of actuator for underwater vehicle using fuzzy logic control)

  • This paper describes the design of fuzzy logic controller for underwater vehicle actuator with high hydroload torque disturbance. For real-time processing of the fuzzy rule, the look-up tables including coarse mode and fine mode are used instead of inference engine process. Computer simulations are done in order to analyze the performance of the proposed algorithm and the very useful results are shown to us by comparing with the existing controller.

  • Sorce noise effect in 1.5 Mach-Zehnder (MZ) interferometer is analyzed. It is shown numerically that with fine adjustments to the feedback gain and initial phase biases, the operating point of the interferometer to achives common mode compensation can be made to lie in a region where the measurand sensitivity is greater than it would be in a conventional Mach-Zehnder interferometer even if the source is less coherent.

국내 배경지역 대기 미세먼지의 기류 이동경로별 조성변화: 2013년 측정 (Composition Variation of Atmospheric Fine Particulate Matters in Accordance with Air Mass Transport Pathways at Background Site of Korea in 2013)

  • The collection of fine particulate matter samples was made at Gosan site of Jeju Island, one of the background sites of Korea, during a year of 2013, and their water-soluble ionic species were analyzed in order to examine the chemical compositions and pollution characteristics. The concentrations of $nss-SO_4{^{2-}}$, $NH_4{^{+}}$, $NO_3{^{-}}$, and $K^+$ had occupied 66.0% of water-soluble ionic species in $PM_{10}$, especially 94.3% in $PM_{2.5}$ fine mode, however the $nss-Ca^{2+}$ and $Na^+$ showed high concentrations in $PM_{10-2.5}$ coarse mode. $NO_3{^-}/nss-SO_4{^{2-}}$ concentration ratios in $PM_{10}$ and $PM_{10-2.5}$ were 0.30 and 0.13, showing less significant effect from automobile and local pollution sources. The sulfate and nitrate compounds were presumed to be long-range transported to Gosan area by the relatively high SOR and NOR values. The trajectory cluster analysis showed the higher concentrations of the major secondary pollutants ($nss-SO_4{^{2-}}$, $NO_3{^{-}}$, $NH_4{^{+}}$) and $nss-Ca^{2+}$ when the air masses had moved from China continent and Korean peninsula into Gosan area.

모드III 탄성 균열문제 해석에 대한 연구 (Elastic Analysis of the Mode III Crack Problem)

  • An efficient method based on analytic solutions is applied to solve anti-plane Mode III crack problems. The analytic technique developed earlier by the present authors for Laplace's equation in a simply-connected region is now extended to general Mode III crack problems. Unlike typical numerical methods which require fine meshing near crack tips, the present method divides the cracked bodies, typically non-convex or multiply-connected, into only a few super elements. In each super element, an element stiffness matrix, relating the series coefficients of the traction and displacement, is first formed. Then an assembly algorithm similar to that used in the finite elements, is first formed. Then an assembly algorithm similar to that used in the finite elements, is developed. A big advantage of the present method is that only the boundary conditions are to be satisfied in the solution procedure due to the use of analytic solutions. Several numerical results demonstrate the efficiency and accuracy of the present method.

포 구동시스템에 대한 모드 스위칭 제어기 설계 (Design of a Mode Switching Controller for Gun Servo System)

  • To meet an increasing demand for high performance in gun dynamic plant, both a precise and a fast response positioning are strongly required for the gun servo system. A mode switching control(MSC) scheme, which includes a fine stabilizing controller, fast positioning one and a switching function, is widely used to meet this requirement. Stabilization is performed through PID controller, while a time optimal control method is used for target designation. In this paper, a modified PTOS(Proximate Time Optimal Servomechanism) algorithm is derived so as to accommodate the damping term in the gun plant model. Also, applying a mode switching strategy, the bumpless transfer is made possible when the controller switches from PTOS to PID. To show the effectiveness of the overall control system, simulation results are given including the gun dynamics.

차대 동력계에서의 디젤 차량의 매연 측정을 위한 여지 반사식 및 광투과식 측정법의 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on the Measurement of Smoke from Diesel Vehicle on Chassis-dynamometer using Reflection Photo and Light Extinction Method)

  • Diesel car's smoke measurement equipment and method were investigated based on the exhaust gas regulations. Reflection photo method and light extinction method for measuring smoke were compared under conditions of both no load mode and Lug-down 3 mode. Free acceleration mode at no load condition was used for regular inspection of diesel car, and Lug-down 3 mode was used for fine inspection of the diesel car. A correlation between no load mode and Lug-down 3 mode was investigated in this research. The smoke measured with reflection photo method was 1.5${\sim}$2 times higher than that of light extinction method The correlation coefficient between reflection photo method and light extinction method for measuring smoke was 0.83, which shows comparatively high correlation between the two methods for measuring smoke in diesel engines.
