  • This paper proposes a framework for integrated credit risk management system in domestic bank financial institutions. Credit evaluation system, loan processing system, credit monitoring system, and credit risk management system are integrated for efficient and effective risk-adjusted performance management in this framework. Risk exposures, not only for each credit, but also for bank's whole credit portfolio need to be measured and analyzed through the concept of Value-at-Risk (VaR). The effects of changes in credit ratings of individual loaners on bank's credit risk exposure are also considered. We tried to model this integrated credit risk management system by using object-oriented modeling language, UML.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the impacts of the rapid rise in oil prices on fisheries economy. Even though fishery oils are tax exemption items, such increase in oil prices put a great amount of pressure on Korean fishing operations. Because basically the recent oil shock is externally given, Korean fisheries themselves have little capacity to cope with the disruption of economic environments. The research results turned out that Korean fisheries are extremely vulnerable(or fragile) to external shocks. In this regard, government support issues of oil costs are in the center of debate. It is widely recognized that direct/indirect government financial supports or subsidies would result in economic inefficiency in expense of equity. However, there are second best theories which may justify government intervention into the markets. This second best theory is translated into the constitutional law that instructs the government to protect and promote the primary industries including fisheries, agriculture, and midium/small-scale enterprises. It is apparent that the constitutional law would provide the government with a variety of policy instruments such as more active buy-back programs, tax exemptions and technological development to deal with fisheries economic hardship due to the external pressure such as high oil prices and international fishery orders.

  • This study examines empirically the characteristics of agricultural corporations in terms of their market and technology environment and the efficiency of the governmental support to the firms. Also the study analyzes the moderating effect of the environmental characteristics on the relationship between governmental supports and firm performance based on the concept of balanced performance. Test results show that firm tend to evaluate favorably their technology and market competitiveness of product quality and price and to require tools for reaction to changes of customer needs and technology or competing products and external corporation that is necessary for long-term technological competitiveness. As for governmental support, strategic support and service is much more appreciated than direct individual supporting item. Agricultural corporations with unfavorable market environment evaluate relatively high on their balanced performance. Correlations of balanced performance factors and technology environmental factors show all positive statistical significance. The moderating effect of the environmental characteristics on the relationship between governmental support and balanced performance can be interpreted that the support is provided without considering environmental aspect and based only on financial performance and as a result not to be satisfied by agricultural corporations with technological competitiveness.

  • Nowadays, sounding is done by either manually on a boat or through the use of survey. These existing measures are considered to be very inefficient. they are not only greatly limited by environmental circumstances but also requires much of time, expenses, and manpower. Therefore, there emerges a greater need for a new sounding system which will allow us to measure the depth of water, less affected by financial and environmental restrictions, within a short period of time. This is a base study for developing an automatic sounding system, which will enhance the advantages of manned sounding and unmanned sounding, raise the effectiveness and economic efficiency, and acquire more precise data.

  • The performance of organizational culture effectiveness has been supported by several researchers. Since Peters & Waterman acclaimed that the excellent companies have their unique culture type, the effectiveness of organization culture have been practically supported. Organization culture is closely related to employees' satisfaction and commitment and contributed to the subjective performance and financial performance in terms of individual and organizational level. Organizational culture is a valuable resources and competitive advantage for the successful growth. Thefore, I have proposed some proposition regarding the type and strength of organization culture and the interaction effect of internal consistency which should be studied for more fundamental study of the effectiveness of organizational culture.

This paper initiated from this critical mind seeking to understand the changing phase of Korea Guarding system, and fundamentally to find the future-oriented ways for the Guarding system. The main materials of history in Early Chosun Dynasty were re-examined, investigated and analyzed and the main references are a code of laws and official as well as private documents such as Kukjo-Oreyeui. Guards system for Royal prince has been found in Byung-jeon of Kyungguk-daejon. he Guards organization has dual system, one was Gumgun which was a private military man and the other was Wuibyung which was a Central military man. On the contrary, central military man were normally protected the royale palaces, but when the King come and go they accompanied and protected the King in safety zone. But just in case they did a job as a member of capital protection military affairs. A question of finance was the reason why there had been dual protection system due to financial matter. If it increased number of man it would pay much money, therefore central military man who has no relevance to national finance were supplied as members of military affairs for the protection of king.

In this environment, shipping firms are using Logistics Information Systems (LIS), which help them to save time and reduce costs. As such, LIS has become a critical part of Korea's attempts to develop Its national logistics system and industry. In this light, this study attempted to empirically determine the critical elements necessary for effective shipping LIS implementation and to then analyze how these elements are related to actual logistics performance within the shipping industry. The research results show that the sample firms considered the following factors to be most Important to an effective LIS: the support of top management; an efficient and well-structured communication channel; a solid strategic implementation plan; and a high level of information analysis internally. Other factors mentioned as being somewhat significant included MIS organization and human resources, MIS discipline and training, software development capabilities, MIS organizational alignment, database management systems information standardization, competitive advantage, financial support and government support The main problems with current shipping LIS include the expensive cost of systems, lack of standardized working processes, and weak organizational structures.

  • Background: Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are often the main pillar of an economy. Minor accidents, ergonomics problems, old and outdated machinery, and lack of awareness have created a need for implementation of safety practices in SMEs. Implementation of healthy working conditions creates positive impacts on economic and social development. Methods: In this study, a questionnaire was developed and administered to 30 randomly chosen SMEs in and around Mumbai, Maharashtra, and other states in India to evaluate safety practices implemented in their facilities. The study also looked into the barriers and drivers for technology innovation and suggestions were also received from the respondent SMEs for best practices on safety issues. Results: In some SMEs, risks associated with safety issues were increased whereas risks were decreased in others. Safety management practices are inadequate in most SMEs. Market competitiveness, better efficiency, less risk, and stringent laws were found to be most significant drivers; and financial constraints, lack of awareness, resistance to change, and lack of training for employees were found to be main barriers. Conclusion: Competition between SMEs was found to be major reason for implementation of safety practices in the SMEs. The major contribution of the study has been awareness building on safety issues in the SMEs that participated in the project.
