In our modern society, such electric facilities as lighting, elevators, water supplies, drainages, waste water treatments and landscape lighting are being more enlarged, diversified and technology-intensive owing to outstanding technological development, while they require reliable and safe electricity. On the other hand, as more electric energy is consumed with more complicated systems operated, any accident from a personal electric system is likely to have wider spreading effects. In particular, the electric receivers and transformers installed for such public facilities as subway stations require highest safety, reliability and economy, but such requirements tend to be less considered than such financial requirements as budget conditions, much less their safety and reliability. In such a circumstance, this study was aimed at suggesting some standards for safe, reliable and economic subway electric systems in terms of their scale, location and uses. Specifically, this study put forwards the ways to optimize and standardize the electric systems including receivers and transformers for subway stations in order to make them safer, more reliable and economic.

As a result of an increase in population of the Metropolitan area and a steady change of circumstances in many parts, the city is sprawling out into the suburbs. This phenomenon causes the necessity of modification of present urban plan. It is risen as a point of issue that construction systems of new railway routes and underground construction, which should be followed the new urban plan in case of inter-regional railway and regional railway. It is hard to find sufficient financial resources, nevertheless the railway improvement definitely affects regional development and improvement of social environment. Also, there is a limit to government subsidies. In this respect, it is necessary to set up a new idea about movement of existing railway routes and improvement of the equipment. This study examines the present problems of railroad construction system in urban downtown area and introduces a suitable institutional way through referring to the instances of other countries.

This study is a part of three year project of “A Study on the Development, Evaluation ＆ Outreach of Marriage Preparation Program”. The purpose of this study is to analyse the unmarried and married couples' attitude about marriage and family, marriage preparation status, their needs of marriage preparation program and ingredients of marital happiness to developing base line data of the marriage preparation program. The result showed that communication ＆ conflict resolution, financial management, relationship characteristics are the major contents area to be considered to develop marriage preparation program. Critics and recommendation for need assessment and educational methods were added.

It is evident that the education of architecture is being transformed under the influence of technological, environmental, social, and financial challenges. BIM application for design education is innovative responses that are expected to provide the high ground for the AEC industry. So the purpose of this paper introduces that application of BIM for design education of students is efficiency and effectiveness through an actual experiment by elementary school project. The results by actual experiment elaborate the role of BIM in architectural education and its appropriate place in the curriculum. Also they state that increasingly complex nature of professional world that is reliant on design teams, joint development efforts, and more complex design projects makes obsolete the designer who is trained as solo artist engaging in competitive and individual pursuits.

The purpose of this study is to develop the curriculum in the field of Consumer Science through the analysis of current curricula which are offered within Home Economics units in Korea and the U.S. A field of Consumer Science was proposed to be divided into two different area, the area related to household economy and the area related to consumer problems. The area related to household economy includes the subfield of household economics and the subfield of family financial management. The area related to consumer problems are the subfield of consumer decision-making, the subfield of consumer education, and the subfield of consumer protection policy. And the new curriculum based on this classification was developed and discussed with respect to the purpose and content of lectures.

This study attempts to explain why traditionally pro-cyclical trade balance became counter-cyclical since early 1990's in Korea. Structural VAR analysis for two sub-periods reveals two interesting changes in the role of the supply shock. First, impulse response analysis shows that the conditional correlation between the supply shock and trade balance turned from positive to negative over the two sub-periods. Second, the relative importance of the supply shock increased over the sub-periods. These two factors together explain the change in the cyclical properties of trade balance over time. Underlying cause behind these changes is likely to be the trade and financial market liberalization since late 1980's.

An important purpose of screening DSM(Demand Side Management) programs is to determine which programs or technologies seem to be moot worthy of further development, given the characteristics of the particular utility system. Complication found in screening DSM technologies is the consideration of costs and benefits from several perspectives : the utility, society, participants, free riders and nonparticipants. In this paper, a nation-wide DSM screening model is presented using a rigorous mathematical formulation on the financial basis and the concept of marginal coots considering all affected parties inside the nation is fully exploited.

There are many new technologies developed these days and the companies try to assess their technologies in order to either get financial supports or verify how valuable they are. However, since not only so many innovative technologies have been developed, but also the areas are very diverse, it becomes really difficult to value the technologies by the conservative technology valuation systems. Especially, in the energy technology area, it is much harder because energy technology is mainly used for public purposes and there have not been many experiences of valuing technologies. In this paper, the objective and systematic technology valuation system tool for energy technology will be suggested and investigated.

Recently, there are two big paradigm shifts in the global electric power industry. First, the maintenance practice is gradually moved from time-based activities to reliability-centered activities. On the other hand, asset management is emerging as a new framework to maximize the efficiency of investments. The two paradigms are mutually exclusive in natural. Thus the power utilities usually chose the investment alternative on the basis of reliability in the past. But today's changed business environment - competition -requires the power utilities to compromise the trade-off of reliability effects and economics of investments. This paper shows what and how to interpret the reliability effects of distribution system investments into financial indicators beneficial for power utilities's managers to make decision on the perspective of corporate value.

We aim to confirm empirically that a corporate's R&D expenditure effect positively on its value. As a result of the regression analysis on financial statements of KSE and KOSDAQ enterprises, the sum of R&D expenditure effects positively on corporate value. Moreover, we have the result that R&D expenditure appropriated as cost has more effect on corporate value than the expenditure appropriated as asset.
