A study on the Packing ability of Concrete Filled in Steel Tube Column by High Strength Concrete (고강도 콘크리트를 이용한 CFT 기둥의 충전성 연구)

  • In this study, there are kind of property experiments like fluidity, compressive strength, bleeding measurement, concrete sink for CFT use high fluidity concrete. The property difference between before transmit and after transmit concrete in the mock up test with ready mixed concrete equipment is examined. The variable factors in mock up are diaphragm existence and nonexistence, diaphragm placing hole sizes. To investigate the concrete property under diaphragm, concrete packing ability tests is peformed. High fluidity and strength concrete which satisfied with mix criteria could apply to building construction field. It it is quality managed with use of packing ability analysis.

  • Amorphous carbon nanotubes were synthesized by a reaction of benzene, ferrocene and Na mixture in a small autoclave at temperatures as low as $400^{\circ}C$. The resulting carbon nanotubes were short and straight, but their inner hole was filled with residual products. The addition of quartz to the reacting mixture considerably promoted the formation of carbon nanotubes. A careful examination of powder structure suggested that the nanotubes in this process were mainly formed by surface diffusion of carbon atoms at the surface of solid catalytic particles, not by VLS(vapor-liquid-solid) mechanism.

  • Temperature-dependent current-voltage characteristics of Organic Light-Emitting Diodes(OLEDs) were studied. The OLEDs were based on the molecular compounds, N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-bis(3-methylphenyl)-1, 1'-diphenyl-4, 4'-diamine (TPD) as a hole transport and trim(8-hydroxyquinoline) alulninum(Alq$_3$) as an electron transport and emissive material. The current-voltage characteristics were measured in the temperature range of 10[K] and 300[K]. A conduction mechanism in OLEDs was interpreted in terms of tunneling and trap-filled limited current.

  • A 6-year-old male mongrel dog with a 7-month history of ulnar-radial nonunion fracture was treated with implantation of recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (rhBMP-2). The dog had received surgical correction three times prior to the admission but radiography of the affected limb revealed a typical figure of nonunion fracture. Glossly, the fractured ends were sclerotic and the area between the ends was filled with fibrous tissue. After debridement the shaft was fixed by an 10-hole plate. rhBMP-2 at a total dose of 256 micrograms was implanted with a synthetic carrier into the 10-mm defect formed by the debridement. Callus formation responding to rhBMP-2 was radiographically observed at 4 weeks after implantation and the defect bridged both fracture ends by 8 weeks after implantation. The plate was removed at 12 months after implantation. Any complications were not observed for 5 months after removal of the plate.

  • The trajectory planning for the manipulator installed on "the automatic pothole repair vehicle" is discussed and the final surface of the patched pot hole is simulated in this work. The relationship between the accumulation data of the mixture with and without the movement of the manipulator is identified to utilize the latter data for the calculation of the former one. Based on this relationship, the method to calculate the accumulation of the mixture when the manipulator changes the speed and the direction is also introduced. The trajectory is determined to make the final surface smooth under the condition that the pothole is cut to hexahedron before patching and only the spacing and the shifting of the manipulator is controllable. Final surface is simulated by the computer to prove the adequacy of the determined trajectory.

  • Building foundations for Top-Down construction require a special setting, because the foundations have to be placed way before excavation for the substructure of main building, Usually, the foundation goes into the layer of rock and it is often called rock-pier foundation, Currently, a cage of steel reinforcing bars is inserted to the pre-excavated hole in the rock layer, hanging down from the wide flange steel column above. This paper presents a new method for connecting the prefounded column and the steel cage with a coupler for better connection between the two, The use of a circular Concrete Filled Tube (CFT) as a prefounded column makes it possible to have this type of connection. The details of the connection and application to a Top-Down construction site is also included in this paper.
