In recent years, medical image diagnosis has growing significant momentous in the medicinal field. Brain and lung image of patient are distorted with salt and pepper noise is caused by moving the head and chest during scanning process of patients. Reconstruction of these images is a most significant field of diagnostic evaluation and is produced clearly through techniques such as linear or non-linear filtering. However, restored images are produced with smaller amount of noise reduction in the presence of huge magnitude of salt and pepper noises. To eliminate the high density of salt and pepper noises from the reproduction of images, a new efficient fuzzy based median filtering algorithm with a moderate elapsed time is proposed in this paper. Reproduction image results show enhanced performance for the proposed algorithm over other available noise reduction filtering techniques in terms of peak signal -to -noise ratio (PSNR), mean square error (MSE), root mean square error (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE), image enhancement factor (IMF) and structural similarity (SSIM) value when tested on different medical images like magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computer tomography (CT) scan brain image and CT scan lung image. The introduced algorithm is switching filter that recognize the noise pixels and then corrects them by using median filter with fuzzy two-sided π- membership function for extracting the local information.

Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) has been widely used for biological and chemical sensing applications. The present study investigates numerically the optical characteristics for the single Au film and bimetallic Ag/Au film SPR configurations by using the multiple beam interference matrix (MBIM) method. We use the prism coupling method, especially Kretschmann configuration for excitation of surface plasmon wave (SPW). The estimated results of reflectance, phase shift and magnetic field intensity enhancement factor are provided for finding out the optimum configuration with high sensitivity for SPR measurement. As a result, the optimum thicknesses are found to be 52 nm for a single Au film and 5 nm to 36 nm for bimetallic Ag-Au film. From the comparison of full width half maximum (FWHM) values for reflectance, phase shift, and enhancement of magnetic field intensity, it is concluded that the highest sensitivity can be obtained when using the phase shift for SPR sensor.
Vacuum tube arrays (VTA) with a submicron dimension were fabricated by using anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) nano-templates. The field emission characteristics of Ni nanowires show a turn-on voltage in the range of 11.0-14.0 V and a field enhancement factor in the range of 560-2790. The distance between the tips of Ni nanowires and the anode was much smaller than that between the tips and the anode of conventional designs.
The microstructure and field emission properties of carbon nanotubes(CNT) grown by Ni-catalytic chemical vapor deposition(CVD) were investigated. CVD-grown CNT had a high density of curved shape with randomly oriented. It was found that an increase in electric field caused an increase in field emission current and field emission sites of CNT. The maximum field emission current density was measured to be 3.6 ㎃/$\textrm{cm}^2$ at 2.5 V/$\mu\textrm{m}$, while the brightness of 56 cd/$\textrm{cm}^2$ was observed for the CNT-grown area of 0.8 $\textrm{cm}^2$ from a phosphor screen. Field emission current at constant electric field gradually decreased initially and then stabilized with time.

Characteristics of InAs/GaAs quantum dot (QD) ridge laser diodes (LDs) are investigated for high-power $1.3\;{\mu}m$ applications. For QD ridge LDs with a $5-{\mu}m$-wide stripe and a 1-mm-long cavity, the emission wavelength of 1284.1 nm, the single-uncoated-facet CW output power as high as 90 mW, the external efficiency of 0.31 W/A and the threshold current density of $800\;mA/cm^2$ are obtained. The linewidth enhancement factor ($\alpha$-factor) is successfully measured to be between 0.4 and 0.6, which are about four times as small values with respect to conventional quantum well structure. It is possible that this result significantly reduce the filamentation of far-field profiles resulting in better beam quality for high power operation.

We studied on the field emission properties of double-walled carbon nanotubes (DWCNTs) coated with lead selenide (PbSe) nanoparticles. PbSe nanoparticles were uniformly attached on the surface of the DWCNTs by a simple chemical process. The PbSe-coated DWCNTs showed highly increased emission current density and enhanced emission stability over 20 h, compared with raw DWCNTs. We consider that the enhanced field emission properties of PbSe-coated DWCNTs were attributed to the increased field enhancement factor and lowered work function of the emitters.
Purpose : To evaluate the effect of rotational correlation time (${\tau}_R$) and the possible related changes of other parameters, ${\tau}_M,{\;}{\tau}_S,{\;}and{\;}(\tau}_V$ of gadolinium (Gd) chelate on T1 relaxation enhancement in two pool model. Materials and Methods : The NMRD (Nuclear Magnetic Relaxation Dispersion) profiles were simulated from 0.02 MHz to 800 MHz proton Larmor frequency for different values of rotational correlation times based on Solomon-Bloembergen equation for inner-sphere relaxation enhancement. To include both unbound pool (pool A) and bound pool (pool B), the relaxivity was divided by contribution from unbound pool and bound pool. The rotational correlation time for pool A was fixed at the value of 0.1 ns, which is a typical value for low molecular weight complexes such as Gd-DTPA in solution and ${\tau}_R$ for pool B was changed from 0.1 ns to 20 ns to allow the slower rotation by binding to macromolecule. The fractional factor of was also adjusted from 0 to 1.0 to simulate different binding ratios to macromolecule. Since the binding of Gd-chelate to macromolecule cab alter the electronic environment of Gd ion and also the degree of bulk water access to hydration site of Gd-chelate, the effects of these parameters were also included. Results : The result shows that low field profiles, ranged from 0.02 to 40 MHz, and dominated by contribution from bound pool, which is bound to macromolecule regardless of binding ratios. In addition, as more Gd-chelate bound to macromolecule, sharp increase of relaxivity at higher field occurs. The NMRD profiles for different values of ${\tau}_S$ show the enormous increase of low field profile whereas relaxivity at high field is not affected by ${\tau}_S$. On the other hand, the change in ${\tau}$V does not affect low field profile but strongly in fluences on both inflection fie이 and the maximum relaxivity value. The results shows a fluences on both inflection field and the maximum relaxivity value. The results shows a parabolic dependence of relaxivity on ${\tau}_M$. Conclusion : Binding of Gd-chelate to a macromolecule causes slower rotational tumbling of Gd-chelate and would result in relaxation enhancement, especially in clinical imaging field. However, binding to macromolecule can change water enchange rate (${\tau}_M$) and electronic relaxation ($T_le$) vis structural deformation of electron environment and the access of bulk water to hydration site of metal-chelate. The clinical utilities of Gd-chelate bound to macromolecule are the less dose requirement, the tissue specificity, and the better perfusion and intravascular agents.

Most existing low-light enhancement algorithms either use a large number of training parameters or lack generalization to real-world scenarios. This paper presents a novel lightweight and robust pixel-wise polynomial approximation-based deep network for low-light image enhancement. For mapping the low-light image to the enhanced image, pixel-wise higher-order polynomials are employed. A deep convolution network is used to estimate the coefficients of these higher-order polynomials. The proposed network uses multiple branches to estimate pixel values based on different receptive fields. With a smaller receptive field, the first branch enhanced local features, the second and third branches focused on medium-level features, and the last branch enhanced global features. The low-light image is downsampled by the factor of 2b-1 (b is the branch number) and fed as input to each branch. After combining the outputs of each branch, the final enhanced image is obtained. A comprehensive evaluation of our proposed network on six publicly available no-reference test datasets shows that it outperforms state-of-the-art methods on both quantitative and qualitative measures.

The sputtering condition of Cr thin film was established in order to get Cr gate electrode having a vertical wall structure for Mo-tip FEA. In case of Mo-tip FEA which had a vertically-etched Cr gate electrode, the field enhancement factor, was relatively increased and so the field emission performance in terms of turn-on voltage, emission current and trans-conductance could be improved when compared with the devices having a tapered gate wall.

A polymer-based multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) field emission device was fabricated from a composite dispersion of MWCNTs and waterborne polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). The waterborne PMMA synthesized through the emulsion polymerization method was added to minimize the reagglomeration of dispersed MWCNTs with surfactants in water, and increase the adhesion between the and the substrate. The field emission properties of the fabricated device were optimized by adjusting the density of the emitter and the adhesion between the MWCNTs and the substrate. These were done by controlling the polymer concentration added to the MWCNT dispersion, as well as the amount of spray coating on the substrate. The results confirm the successful fabrication of a polymer-based MWCNT field emission device with a low field of 1.07 $V/{\mu}m$ and a good electric field enhancement factor of 2445. The device was fabricated by adding 0.8 mg/mL of polymer solution to the MWCNT dispersion and applying 20 cycles of spray coating. Application of this same MWCNT/polymer composite solution to a flexible polymer substrate also resulted in the successful fabrication of an electric field emission device with uniform emission and long time stability.
