This study was conducted to compare nutrient intakes regarding stages of change in dietary fiber increasing behavior. Subjects were consisted of healthy 383 college students (2S0 females and 133 males) in Kyunggi-Do. Stages of change classified by an algorithm based on 6 items were designed each subjects into one of the 5 stages: precontemplation (PC), contemplation (CO), preparation (PR), action (AC), maintenance (MA). Nutrient intakes were assessed by 24-hr recall method. Regarding the S stages of changes, PR stage comprised the largest group $(39.4\%)$, followed by AC $(33.7\%)$, MA$(14.6\%)$, PC$(7.6\%)$, CO$(34.7\%)$. Female were more belong to either AC or MA. The higher stage of change in dietary fiber increasing behavior, the higher self-efficacy. In all male and female, there were no differences in energy, protein, monounsaturated fatty acids, polyunsaturated fatty acids and cholesterol intakes across the 5 stages. But, fiber, postassuim (K), vitamin A and vitamin C intakes of AC or MA were higer than those of PC, CO and PR $Energy\%$ from fat of $PR(25.4\~26.5\%)$ was higher than $20\%$, and those of AC and MA was lower than the other groups. Dietary P/S and ${\varepsilon}6/{\varepsilon}$ 3 ratios of AC and MA were similar to the recommended ratio. Female of PR had the most total saturated fat and palmitic acid and those of MA had the least. Male of PR had the least $\alpha-LNA\;({\varepsilon}3)$ and total ${\varepsilon}3$ fatty acids and those of MA had the most. In male and female in AC or MA, fiber and K intakes from breakfast, dinner and snack and vitamin C intakes from all meals were higher than those of the other stages. These results of our study confirm differences in stages of change in fiber intake in terms of nutritional status. To have lower $energy\%$ from fat, higher intakes of K, fiber and vitamins, desirable ratio of dietary fatty acids, it needs consistent nutritional education leading to the AC or MA of fiber increasing behavior.

In recent years, the use of natural fiber as reinforcement in polymer composites to replace synthetic fiber such as glass fiber is receiving increasing attention. Because of increasing usage according to the high demand, the cost of thermoplastic has increased rapidly over the past decades. We used a thermoplastic polymer(polypropylene) as the matrix and a lignocellulosic material(rice-husk flour) as the reinforcement filler to prepare a particle-reinforced composite to examine the possibility of using lignocellulosic material as reinforcement filler and to determine data of test results for physical, mechanical and morphological properties of the composite according to the reinforcement filler content in respect to thermoplastic polymer, In this study, PLA/PP rice-husk fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composites that made by the hot press molding method according to appropriate manufacturing process was evaluated as mechanical properties.

The paper presents a research project on the tensile properties of RPC mixed with both steel and polypropylene fibers after exposure to $20-900^{\circ}C$. The direct and the indirect tensile strength (in bending) were measured through tensile experiment on dog-bone specimens and bending experiment on $40{\times}40{\times}160mm$ prisms. RPC microstructure was analyzed using scanning electron microscope. The results indicate that, steel fibers can significantly improve the tensile performance of hybrid fiber-reinforced RPC, whereas polypropylene fibers have no obvious effect on the tensile performance. With increasing temperature, the flexural and axial tensile strength of hybrid fiber-reinforced RPC substantially decrease linearly, which attributes to the deteriorating microstructure. Based on the experimental results, equations are established to express the decay of the flexural and tensile strength with increasing temperature.

In this work, poly(ethylene oxide) nanofibers were fabricated by electrospinning to prepare nanofibers-reinforced composites. And the PEO powders-impregnated composites were also prepared to compare with physicochemical properties of nanofibers-reinforced composites. Morphology and fiber diameter of PEO nanofibers were determined by SEM observation. Mechanical interfacial properties of the composites were investigated in fracture toughness tests and interlaminar shear strength (ILSS) test. As a result, the fiber diameter decreased in increasing applied voltage. However the optimum condition for the fiber formation was 15 ㎸, resulting from increasing of jet instability at high voltage and the prepared PEO nanofibers were useful in fiber reinforced composites. The PEO-based nanofibers-reinforced composites showed an improvement of fracture toughness factors ($K_{IC} and G_{ IC}$) and ILSS, compared to the composites impregnated with PEO powders. These results were noted that the nanofibers had higher specific surface area and larger aspect ratio than those of the powder, which played an important role in improving the mechanical interfacial properties of the composites.

Recently, Waterhorne polyurethane(WBPU) have been used for a wide range of commercial applications due to the increasing environmental regulation to reduce low-volatile organic compounds in coating and adhesives materials [1-8]. The WBPU was used in coating industry on fiber at first, and its market is increasing these days. Especially, the Waterborne polyurethane film even is widely used in the field of breathable coating fiber or medical science [9-10]. Water vapor permeability(WVP) is the key property for application to breathable coating fiber. (omitted)

[ $Si_3N_4$ ] composites have been extensively studied for engineering ceramics, because it has excellent room and high temperature strength, wear resistance properties, good resistance to oxidation, and good thermal and chemical stability. In the present work, carbon short fiber reinforced $Si_3N_4$ ceramics were fabricated by hot press method in $N_2$ atmosphere at $1800^{\circ}C$ using $Al_2O_3\;and\;Y_2O_3$ as sintering additives. Content of carbon short fiber was $0\%,\;0.1\%\;and\;0.3\%$. The composites were evaluated in terms of density, flexural strength and elastic modulus through the 3-point bending test at room temperature. Also, The wear behavior was determined by the pin on disk wear tester using silicon nitride ball. Experimental density and flexural strength decreased with increasing content of carbon fiber. But specific modulus increased with increasing content of carbon fiber. In addition, friction coefficient and specific wear loss decreased with increasing content of carbon short fiber by reason of interfacial defects between matrix and fiber.
The results of an experimental study on the manufacture and the mechanical properties of steel fiber reinforced polyester resin composites utilizing industrial waste products(fly ash) are presented in this paper. The composites using steel fiber, fly ash, unsaturated polyester resin, styrene monomer, catalyst (cobalt octate) and accelerator(methyl ethyl ketone peroxide), fine and coarse aggreates were prepared using various mixing conditions.
As the test results show. the mechanical and physical properties, such as the compressive, tensile and flexural strengths, and the setting shrinkage of fly ash$\cdot$polyester resin composites were improved considerably by increasing the fly ash-binder ratio. And the workability of steel fiber reinforced fly ash$\cdot$polyester resin composites was reduced with increasing the fly ash-binder ratio and steel fiber content. Also, the compressive, flexural strength and toughness of the composites were remarkably increased by increasing steel fiber content.
This study is about the application of waste stone sludge as fill material. Waste stone sludge, weathered granite soil, and the mixture of the former and the latter strengthened with staple fiber are experimentally analyzed for measuring strength property. When staple fiber was mixed with waste stone sludge, weathered granite soil, and the mixture, there was a nearly linear relationship between the amount of the staple fiber and the increasing ratio of unconfined compressive strength. The increasing ratio of unconfined compressive strength was the largest in weathered granite soil. The increasing ratio of unconfined compressive strength of the mixture was similar to that of waste stone sludge. In the case of the mixture of weathered granite soil and waste stone sludge, an internal friction angle tended to increases rely on increasement of staple fiber content, whereas the change of cohesion was small. An internal friction angle was increased by 21 percent when staple fiber content is 0.75 percent. Comparing with weathered granite soil or waste stone sludge, strength parameters of the mixture were increased relatively. Thus strengthening effect of staple fiber in the mixture is expected.

For the development of lilght weight cement concrete with high durability, this study used perlite and paper sludge ash by the light weight material, and polypropylene fiber by the reinforcment, and poly-acrylic ester emulsion by the matrix improvement. According to the increasing mixture ratio of fiber and use of polymer, the light weight polypropylene fiber reinforced polymer cement ratio of fiber and use of polymer, the light weight polypropylene fiber reinforced polymer cement concrete were showed high resistance for frost damage.
The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between muscle fiber characteristics, intramuscular fat (IMF) content, and fatty acids composition in longissimus lumborum (LL) muscle from Hanwoo steers. The LL muscles were obtained from four quality grades (QG) carcasses and subjected to histochemical analysis. There were significant (p<0.05) differences in fiber number percentage (FNP) and fiber area percentage (FAP) of muscle fiber types among muscles from four QGs. Both FNP and FAP of type I increased while those of type IIB decreased with increasing QG from QG 2 to QG $1^{{+}{+}}$ (p<0.05). Also, with increasing QG, the saturated fatty acid (SFA) proportion decreased while monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA) increased significantly (p<0.05). IMF content was positively correlated with both FNP and FAP of type I, but negatively correlated with those of type IIB. The proportions of SFA and MUFA were significantly (p<0.001) correlated with both type I and IIB composition. These results implied that muscle fiber type composition is an important factor influencing fatty acid composition in LL muscle of Hanwoo steer.
