The Effect of Non-180$^{\circ}$Domain on the Piezoelectric and Dielectric Properties of the PSN-PZT Ceramics under Alternating Strong Electric Field (교류강전계가 PSN-PZT 압전체의 압전 및 유전 특성에 미치는 non-180$^{\circ}$분역 효과)

  • 본 연구는 3mol% Pb(Sb$_{1}$2/Nb$_{1}$2/)O$_3$가 첨가된 상경계 영역의 Pb(Zr,Ti)O$_3$(PSN-PZT) 세라믹스에 대하여 RT66A와 광섬유센서를 이용하여, 교류강전계 하에서 압전 및 유전특성을 조사하였다. PSN-PZT 세라믹스의 압전 및 유전 특성에 미치는 non-180$^{\circ}$분역 재배열의 영향을 평가하기 위하여 RT66A와 MTI-2000 Fotonic$^{TM}$ sensor를 이용하여 인가전계와 주파수의 함수로 전계유기변위를 측정하였다. 그 결과, 교류강전계 하에서 전계유기변위는 강전계, 저주파수에서 큰 이력현상을 나타내고, 전계유기변위로부터 결정된 유효압전상수는 주파수가 감소할수록 증가하는 거동을 나타내고 있으며, 이러한 거동은 non-180$^{\circ}$분역 재배열의 영향으로 해석되었다.

  • 플로팅구조물은 열악한 해양환경상태에 있기 때문에 구조물응답에 대한 실시간 모니터링 기술을 적용하여 구조안전성을 확보해야 한다. 특히 기존의 전기 저항식 스트레인 게이지 단점을 극복한 광섬유 센서를 이용하여 실시간 모니터링 시스템 개발에 관한 연구가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 플로팅구조물의 축소 모델에 광섬유 센서 중 하나인 FBG센서를 부착하고 실험용 수조에 설치하여 광학 스펙트럼 분석기를 통해 중심파장을 측정한 후 변형률을 계산하였다. 또한 유한요소 모델을 유한요소 해석 프로그램인 ABAQUS를 사용하여 모델링하고 유한요소 해석을 통해 변형률을 출력하고 실험결과와 해석 결과를 비교하여 광섬유 센서를 이용한 플로팅구조물의 실시간 모니터링을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다.

  • A stabilizer link connects the stabilizer bar to the lower arm of the suspension. When a vehicle is turning, lateral forces from the tire are transmitted through the stabilizer link into the stabilizer bar. The stabilizer bar will twist, thus adding rigidity to the vehicle body. In this study, the stabilizer link body was manufactured by using composite material with POM-GF25%. Therefore, the strength evaluation of stability link body with composite material carried out from tensile, wear and fatigue test. The tensile strength between the stability link body with composite material and the rod with knurling was the largest of four types of rod. In Analyzing materials property using optical sensing technique of stabilizer link for automobile parts, its has been identified the safety.

  • In this paper, the application of power Quality monitoring based on Sampled Value(SV) which is introduced in the IEC61850 International Standard for substation communication are discussed. Firstly, while Merging Unit(MU) is designed as a process level device transmitting sensor data, the practical problems such as time delay compensation and optical fiber communication are encountered. Secondly, the Sampled Value message which is proper to a power quality monitoring system is presented. Because the power quality monitoring system requests less time-critical service compared to protection and control applications, the Sampled Value service message structure is introduced to improve efficiency. Lastly, the power quality monitoring server having various power quality analysis functions is suggested to verify the performance of Merging Unit With the diverse experiments, it is proved that the process bus distributed solution is flexible and economic for the power quality monitoring.

  • We propose and experimentally demonstrate a method for extension of measurement range in a Brillouin optical correlation domain analysis sensor system without resolution deterioration. In the experiment, a 300 m measurement range with about 8 cm spatial resolution was successfully obtained by cascading three different kinds of fibers as a sensing element.

On the Development of a Video Endoscope Having a Swallowable Insertion Tube

  • An endoscope is a medical device which observes the inner surface of an organ inside a body. Recently, a new type of endoscope using a CCD image sensor has been developed and turned out to have many strong points over the conventional optical fiber endoscope system. A swallowable insertion tube is an insertion tube having so small a diameter that the head of the insertion tube can reach the end of stomach only by mechanical movement of the esphagus and stomach or the patient's external movement. This paper presents some of the results that the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at Seoul National University has obtained while developing an electronic endoscope having a swallowable insertion tube. After some of the features of the developed system are presented, some of the image processing techniaues are addressed.

  • In this paper, a novel optical measuring system for the measurement of nonuniform electric field was proposed. The electric field distorted by the discharges was detected through proposed optical measuring system based on the Pockets effect and Mach-Zehnder interferometer. In order to produce distorted electric field, corona discharge was generated from needle-plane electrode in air and detected by optical measuring system. This optical measuring system is constructed by He-Ne laser, single mode optical fiber, $2{\times}2$ 50/50 beam splitter, $LiNbO_3$ Pockets cell, photo detector and PC. In this system, output signal of Pockels sensor is measured by digital oscilloscope and transferred to the PC for recording and statistical processing. Through this paper, a promising possibilities of proto-type optical measuring system were evinced.

  • 광섬유형 센서는 전자기 간섭에 강하고 높은 감도와 원거리측정 등의 장점이 있어 이에 대한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 온도센서의 경우 다양한 구조의 센서 구현이 용이하고 넓은 온도범위에서의 측정이 가능하다. 하지만 이러한 광섬유형센서는 대부분 온도변화를 물리량의 변화로 감지하기 때문에 작은 온도의 감지에는 구조적인 한계를 가지는 경우가 많으며 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위하여 많은 연구가 시도되고 있다$^{[1]}$ . 본 논문은 이러한 점을 인지한 측면연마된 광섬유와 평면도파로 결합기형 고감도 온도센서에 관한 연구이다. 본 연구에서는 온도의 감지를 열광학 평면도파로의 열광학계수에 의존하기 때문에 물질의 변화에 따라 다양한 온도감도 조절과 높은 분해능을 가지는 센서의 구현이 가능하다.   • The target of this paper is to study on the usefulness of the SSHI technique as a wireless electrical power supply when it is driven by mechanical vibrations of low frequency. A THUNDER series a piezoelectric material (TH7-R), which has been developed by a NASA engineer is selected for this study. A mechanical motion vibrator supplies piezoelectric material with mechanical energy. An optical fiber sensor and a pulse generating circuit are used to accomplish the parallel-SSHI technique. As a result of this study, energy harvesting using SSHI technique results in a significant increase of the electrical power flow.
