단섬유 보강 복합재료의 기계적 특성 평가에 관한 연구 (Prediction of Tensile Properties for Short-fiber-reinforced Composites)

  • 단섬유 보강 복합재료의 종횡비(aspect ratio)를 변화시키며 기계적 특성(탄성계수, 인장강도)을 평가하였다. 2차원 다중 파이버(multi-fiber) 모델을 이용하여 엇갈린(staggered) 배열과 규칙적(aligned) 배열에 대해 유한요소 해석을 하였다. 단섬유 복합재료의 유효탄성계수 및 인장강도는 섬유와 기지의 탄성계수비, 섬유 배열상태, 그리고 단섬유 종횡비의 함수로 표현되었으며, 해석결과의 탄성계수와 인장강도는 이론 모델의 결과와 사출 성형된 PEEK 복합재료 시험편의 결과와 비교하였다. 시험결과는 낮은 종횡비에서 이론 모델 결과와 일치함을 보였다. 단섬유 보강 복합재료의 배열 및 종횡비 변화에 따른 섬유보강 효과에 따른 계면응력 상태는 기계적 특성 결정에 중요한 영향을 보였다.

Optimization of a fiber optic probe for non-invasive blood glucose monitoring

  • A portable near infrared (NIR) system which was newly integrated by our lab has been used to develop a non-invasive blood glucose monitoring. The portable NIR system includes a tungsten halogen lamp, a photo diode array type-InGaAs detector, and specialized reflectance fiber optic probes. The shape of probes is composed of two parts. one for illumination into sample and the other for receiving the radiation from sample. Three kinds of probes with different distance between illumination and receiving part. such as 0.03. 0.1. and 0.5mm, were investigated for optimization. (omitted)

  • This paper describes a newly designed multipoint process monitoring system based on a NIR acousto-optic tunable filter. The NIR multipoint process monitoring system consists of a NIR AOTF device for wavelength selection, an InGaAs array sensor, and a specially designed iin-line type of optical fiber probe. Unlike a FTS(Fourier Transform Spectrometry) or grating based monitoring system, an AOTF has no moving parts, and it can be rapidly tuned to any wavelength in its operating range within microseconds. Thus, the AOTF is advantageous in terms of faster spectral imaging capability and rigidity required for industrial monitoring environment. 구조물 안전 모니터링용 파장 스위핑 레이저를 위한 스위핑 자동 선형화 (Sweeping Automatic Linearization for Wavelength Swept Laser Used in Structure Safety Monitoring)

  • In this study, a novel method for sweeping automatic linearization of wavelength swept laser is proposed. Through the test performed on the implemented laser, the linear sweeping is held up well with a 97% decrease in nonlinearity, and 60 nm sweeping range, 1 kHz sweeping frequency, and 8.8 mW average optical power were obtained. The proposed method uses fiber Bragg grating array, optical-electronic conversion circuit, FPGA embedded module, and a LabVIEW program to generate new compensated wave patterns which were applied to the fiber Fabry-Perot tunable filter. Linear sweeping can reduce the cumbersome and time-consuming recalibration process required for nonlinear sweeping. Additionally, the proposed method provides more accurate measurement results for the structure safety monitoring system.

  • Geckos have a unique ability to cling to ceilings and walls utilizing dry adhesion. Their foot pads are covered by a large number of small hairs (setae) that contain many branches per seta with a lower level of spatulae. Their fibrillar structure is the primary source of high adhesion. In this study, we construct the adhesion design database for biomimetic adhesive system. A simple idealized fibrillar structure consisting of single array of beams is modeled. The fibers are assumed as oriented cylindrical cantilever beams with spherical tip. We consider three necessary conditions; buckling, fracture and sticking of fiber structure, which constrain the allowed geometry. The adhesion analysis is performed for the attachment system in contact with rough surfaces with different s values for different main design variables-fiber radius, aspect ratio and material elastic modulus and so on. The developed adhesion design databases are useful for understanding biological systems and for guiding of fabrication of the biomimetic attachment system.

휴대용 근적외선 분광분석기를 이용한 비침투 혈당 측정 (Non-invasive Blood Glucose Measurement by a Portable Near Infrared (NIR) System)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a non-invasive blood glucose measurement method by a portable near infrared (NIR) system which was newly integrated by our lab. The portable NIR system includes a tungsten halogen lamp, a specialized reflectance fiber optic probe and a photo diode array type InGaAs detector; which was developed by a microchip technology based on the lithography. Reflectance NIR spectra of different parts of human body (finger tip, earlobe, and inner lip) were recorded by using a fiber optic probe. The spectra were collected over the spectral range 1100 ∼ 1740 nm. Partial least squares regression (PLSR) was applied for the calibration and validation for the determination of blood glucose. The calibration model from earlobe spectra presented better results, showing good correlation with a glucose oxidase method which is a mostly used standard method. This model predicted the glucose concentration for validation set with a SEP of 33 mg/dL. This study indicated the feasibility for non-invasive monitoring of blood glucose by a portable near infrared system.

The portable NIR system that was newly integrated by our lab includes a tungsten halogen lamp, a specialized reflectance fiber optic probe and a photo diode array type InGaAs detector, which was developed by a microchip technology based on the lithography. 2차원 X-밴드 위상 배열 안테나용 광 실시간 지연선로 (An Optical True Time-Delay for Two-Dimensional X-Band Phased Array Antennas)

  • 본 논문에서는 크로스(CROSS) 포트에 광섬유 지연선로가 연결된 $2\times2$ 광 스위치들로 구성된 광섬유 지연선로 행렬과 다파장 광원을 이용한 2차원 위상 배열 안테나(Phased Array Antenna; PAA)용 광 실시간 지연선로(True Time-Delay ; TTD)의 구조를 제안하였고, 파장 의존형 광 TTD와 파장 비의존형 광 TTD를 결합하여 10-GHz 2차원 PAA용 2-비트$\times$4-비트 광 TTD를 제작하였다. 단위 시간 지연 차이가 각각 ${\Delta}T=12ps$$\Delta\tau=6ps$인 파장 의존형 광 TTD와 파장 비의존형 광 TTD의 모든 주사각에 대해서 시간지연을 측정하였다. 파장 의존형 광 TTD의 시간 지연 오차는 지터에 의해 최대 2.8 ps가 발생하였으며, 파장 비의존형 광 TTD의 경우에는 ${\pm}0.8ps$이하의 오차가 나타났다. 제안된 2차원 PAA용 광 TTD의 구조는 1차원 선형 PAA보다 높은 이득을 얻을 수 있고, 다파장 광원을 사용하므로 광 파워 및 파장의 안정성을 확보할 수 있으며, 전기적 스위치 제어기를 이용하여 $2\times2$ 광 스위치 행렬을 열(column) 단위로 절체하기 때문에 주사 빔 제어 속도가 빠르고 구동이 간단한 장점을 갖고 있다.

  • 최근에 개발된 광섬유 격자소자(FBG)를 이용한 광섬유 수중 음향센서는 기존의 광섬유 센서가 지니고 있는 우수한 장점들을 지니고 있을 뿐만 아니라, PZT센서가 검출할수 없는 저주파수(30Hz∼300Hz)특성에서도 우수한 신호 감지효과를 지니고 있으며, 특히 군사용으로 사용될 수 있는 저주파 신호 검출에 실용화를 기대 할수 있으며, 센서 어레이(array)를 통하여 고감도 다중화로 발전될 수 있다.
