A Feasibility Study of the K-LandBridge through a Linear Programming Model of Minimum Transport Costs (최소운송비용의 선형계획모형을 통한 K-LandBridge의 타당성 연구)

  • China has recently advocated a national strategy called "One Belt One Road" and transferred to execution to refine it into detailed action plans and has continued to fix the complement. However, the Korean Peninsula, including the North Korea remains could not be included at all in the Chinese development policy and framework in terms of the International Logistics. Currently it is raised between Korea-China rail ferry system again and that is when we need to make effective policy development on international multimodal transport system in Northeast Asia. This paper introduces the K-LB (Korea LandBridge) as its execution plan and conducted a feasibility study on this. K-LB consists of a Korea-Russian train ferry system based in Pohang Yeongil New Port(light-wing) and a Korea-China train ferry system based in Saemangeum New Port(left-wing). These two wings are linked to the existing rail system in Korea. This study is convinced that the K-LB is an effective international logistics system in the current terms and conditions and also demonstrated that it is feasible to introduce th K-LB on the peninsula. More strictly speaking, through a linear programming under objective function that minimize the transport cost quantified prior to demonstrate the feasibility, the available ranges and conditions for the transportation costs that are ensured the effectiveness of the K-LB are presented as results. According to the results, if the transport cost of K-LB is cheaper about 34.5% than that of sea transport such as container transport, the object goods may be transported by K-LB on this route. It means that the K-LB system has a competitive advantage due to more rapid customs clearance as well as omitted loading and unloading procedures over container transportation system. It also noted that the threshold level may not be large. Therefore, K-LB has competitive enough to prove its introduction in the Northeast Asian logistics system.

  • In this paper, ship accidents are analyzed briefly and the main objective is to investigate a potential technological approach for risk assessment of vessel stability. Ship nonlinear motion equation and main parameters that induce ship capsizing in beam seas have analyzed, the survival probability of a ferry in random status have estimated and finally find out a risk assessment concept for ship's intact stability estimation by safe basin simulation method. Since a few main parameters are considered in the paper, it is expected to be more accurately for estimating ship survival probability when considering ship rolling initial condition and all other impact parameters in the future research.

Vibrations of long repetitive structures by a double scale asymptotic method

  • In this paper, an asymptotic two-scale method is developed for solving vibration problem of long periodic structures. Such eigenmodes appear as a slow modulations of a periodic one. For those, the present method splits the vibration problem into two small problems at each order. The first one is a periodic problem and is posed on a few basic cells. The second is an amplitude equation to be satisfied by the envelope of the eigenmode. In this way, one can avoid the discretisation of the whole structure. Applying the Floquet method, the boundary conditions of the global problem are determined for any order of the asymptotic expansions.

  • Natural and social disasters, such as typhoons, floods, earthquakes, volcanoes, fires, explosions, and traffic accidents occur frequently around the world. In Korea, a vicious cycle of large-scale accidents caused by natural disasters and insensitivity to safety is repeated each year. In particular, the tragic sinking of the Sewol ferry in 2014 and strong earthquakes with a magnitude of 5.0 and greater in Gyeongju and Pohang in 2016 and 2017, respectively, threw the entire country into a state of shock, increasing the public anxiety regarding disaster preparedness. This paper discusses the trends in broadcast emergency alert systems used to minimize damage from a disaster by delivering urgent status information quickly and accurately through a broadcast network, and to provide information regarding disaster risk and emergency evacuation procedures.

  • Many rubber products are used in industrial products such as various hoses, rubber belts and oil seals etc. Especially, more then 200 rubber parts are used in the automobile, but design technology of these is largely dependent on Held experiences. These methods brought about too much time and cost in the developing procedures. However, with the help of recent rapid development of non-liner computer analysis, we can develop new sound products at low cost. Therefore in this study, optimizations of design variables such as location and number of gate in order to develop CLIP rubber product made of EPDM were performed by CAE in which Cross-WLF equations are adopted. The validity of proposed variables is evaluated by comparison with real forming results.

  • The modifications taking place within the alluvial plains impart a larger extent of disturbances to hydrologic systems. The objective of the present investigation is to detect the sensitivity of multi-temporal image data from Landsat TM (Thematic Mapper) for finding out the land-cover/land-use changes associated with alluvial low land. The eastern coast of Chiba Prefecture, Japan, forms a very important geographic unit owing to the existence of a unique alluvial landform. The alluvial plain occupied in the study area is widely known as 'Kujukuri Plain'. The TM images have been classified by means of maximum likelihood supervised classifier and the extent of changes has been estimated.

  • When accidents that relate to a large numbers of people occur, such as disasters involving group tours by ship or aircraft, or large-scale chemical leakages, it is very important to know the personal identification of victims and to determine their locations and status. It is true that there will be serious damage or injury to people who engaged especially when information does not transfer properly or people get inaccurate one. In this study, therefore, we analysed the disaster response management system for rescued people of the Sewo ferry sinking accident. Based on the analysis we proposed to improve the real-time disaster management system with ICT(Information & Communication Technology).

  • There has been a big need of Safety Education for the power plants with a high risk due to the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster and the tragic accident of Sewol Ferry. The object of this research is for studying ways of developing contents for customized Power Plants Safety Education applied with 'Story Viewing' technology in order to improve the present format of Power Plant Safety Education based on hard copied documents so as to prevent human mistakes because of lack of system and ability of initial response which come from safety frigidity shown in the case of Sewol Accident. 'Story-viewing' applied to Power Plant Safety Education is the methodology to enhance information communicability utilizing IT/Visualization technology combined with Story Telling that is an effective propagation way.

A Multi-stage Multi-criteria Transshipment Model for Optimal Selection of Transshipment Nodes - Case of Train Ferry-

  • A strategic decision making on location selection for product transportation includes many tangible and untangible factors. To choose the best locations is a difficult job in the sense that objectives usually conflict with each other. In this paper, we consider a multi stage multi criteria transshipment problem with different types of items to be transported from the sources to the destination points. For the optimization of the problem, a goal programming formulation will be presented in which the location selection for each product type will be determined under the multi objective criteria. In the study, we generalize the transshipment model with a variety of product types and finite number of different intermediate nodes between origins and destinations. For the selection of the criteria we selected the costs(fixed cost and transportation cost), location numbers, and unsatisfied demand for each type of products in multi stage transportation, which are the main goals in transshipment modelling problems. The related conditions are also modelled through linear formats.

원자력발전소 디지털시스템 설계요건(Code & Standard)을 고려한 보안성 평가에 관한 연구

  • 국내 원자력발전소는 1978년 웨스팅하우스 노형의 고리1호기부터 2019년 APR-1400 노형의 신고리3호기 준공까지 많은 기술의 발전을 이룩하였다. 과거와 비교하여 현재의 원자력발전소는 단순히 발전용량만 증가한 것이 아니라, 안전에 대한 요구가 반영되어 발전하였다. 첫째, 미국 TMI 사고, 우크라이나 체르노빌 사고, 일본 후쿠시마 사고를 겪으며 자연재해, 인적실수 등에 관한 강화된 대책이 적용되었다. 둘째 미국 Browns Ferry 원전 정지, Hatch 원전 정지, 이란 핵시설 스턱스넷 공격 등을 겪으며, 사이버위협에 대응하기 위한 사이버보안 규제요건이 원자력발전소에 적용되었다. 그러나 사이버보안 규제요건과 원자력발전소 설계요건이 상충하는 부분이 일부 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 원자력발전소 사이버보안 규제요건과 상충하는 설계요건(Code&Standard)을 분석하여, 사이버 보안관점에서 요구되는 보안 조치사항을 도출하였다.
