Harmony Search Algorithm for Optimal Placement Problem of Distributed Generations (분산전원 최적설치를 위한 Harmony Search 알고리즘 응용)

  • This paper presents a application of Harmony Search (HS) algorithm for optimal placement of distributed generations(DGs) in distribution systems. In optimization procedure, the HS algorithm denotes the searching ability for the global optimal solution with simple coding of the iteration procedure, and shows the fast convergence characteristics for getting solutions. The HS algorithm is tested on 9 buses and 69 buses distribution systems, and the results prove its effectiveness to determine appropriate placement points of DGs and reducing amount of active power without the occurrence of any mis-determination in selection of its capacity.

  • In this paper, we propose a pen gesture recognition system for user interface in multimedia terminal which requires fast processing time and high recognition rate. It is realtime and interaction system between graphic and text module. Text editing in recognition system is performed by pen gesture in graphic module or direct editing in text module, and has all 14 editing functions. The pen gesture recognition is performed by searching classification features that extracted from input strokes at pen gesture model. The pen gesture model has been constructed by classification features, ie, cross number, direction change, direction code number, position relation, distance ratio information about defined 15 types. The proposed recognition system has obtained 98% correct recognition rate and 30msec average processing time in a recognition experiment.

  • This paper presents a fast motion estimation algorithm, 5DS, useful for video coding. We first try block matching to 4 directions(N, E, W, S) to estimate motions in this algorith, since most of motions in video are oriented to those direction, and then try one additional diagonal matching between the matching ponts having small MADs. It makesthis algorithm possible for searching through a diagonal direction which is not adequate to logarithmic (LOG) search algorithm. This proposed algorithm has almost same PSNR but, 1.9, 1.2 times faster than classical block matching methods such as three steps search(TSS) and LOG search algorithms.

  • A moving object tracking algorithm for image searching based on specific color detection is proposed in this paper. That is preprocessed for a luminance variation and noise cancellation to be robust system. The motion tracking is used the difference between input image and reference image in R, G, B each channels for a moving image. The proposed method is enhanced to 15% fast in comparison with the contour tracking method and the matching method, and stable.

  • Abstract : Multimedia data now one of the widely used information in all the fields as the fast developments of computer techniques have been made. Traditional database systems based on textual information have limitations when applied to multimedia information. This is because simple textual descriptions are ambiguous and inadequate for searching multimedia information for multimedia databases and digital libraries. Thus, especially for image data, which is one of the important multimedia information types, which can retrieve and browse image data on the basis of pictorial queries. Therefore, this paper presents an efficient method for describing texture information in image data.

Real-Time Non-Local Means Image Denoising Algorithm Based on Local Binary Descriptor

  • In this paper, a speed-up technique for the non-local means (NLM) image denoising method based on local binary descriptor (LBD) is proposed. In the NLM, most of the computation time is spent on searching for non-local similar patches in the search window. The local binary descriptor which represents the structure of patch as binary strings is employed to speed up the search process in the NLM. The descriptor allows for a fast and accurate preselection of non-local similar patches by bitwise operations. Using this approach, a tradeoff between time-saving and noise removal can be obtained. Simulations exhibit that despite being principally constructed for speed, the proposed algorithm outperforms in terms of denoising quality as well. Furthermore, a parallel implementation on GPU brings NLM-LBD to real-time image denoising.

  • In this paper, we presents HIGH-Q learning algorithm with reinforcement learning for more fast and exact topic-directed web spidering. The purpose of reinforcement learning is to maximize rewards from environment, an reinforcement learning agents learn by interacting with external environment through trial and error. We performed experiments that compared the proposed method using reinforcement learning with breath first search method for searching the web pages. In result, reinforcement learning method using future discounted rewards searched a small number of pages to find result pages.

A Design of CDMA Demodulator Using Fuzzy Algorithm (퍼지 알고리즘을 이용한 CDMA 복조단 설계)

  • The fuzzy-based SAM algorithm is proposed in this thesis to reduce the idle time. to recover call truncation fast when it is handed off and to last frequency acquisition in the mobile communications. It has additive and adaptive elements. Its weight values are generated not by feedback but by input conversion values. The initial expectation value is defined and forwardㆍbackward searching is executed 4o produce the expectation value of one chip. The fuzzy-based SAM algorithm is applied to the demodulator in CDMA system, and the synchronization time is measured. Synchronization time of PN code is 1.678$\mu\textrm{s}$ by SAM algorithm. It is 993 times faster than time of the conventional systems, 1.667$\mu\textrm{s}$.

  • 인터넷 통신과 무선 이동 통신의 발달은 최적 경로 탐색이 인터넷 웹 페이지를 통하여 서비스될 수 있도록 하였으며, CNS(Car Navigation System)를 이용한 서비스도 가능하도록 하였다. 나아가 개인용 휴대통신 장비인 PDA나 핸드폰을 이용하여서도 그 서비스가 제공되고 있다. 기존의 양방향 A* 알고리즘에서는 현재 노드에서 목적지까지의 예상 비용을 직선 거리를 사용하였지만 본 논문에서는 현재 노드까지 지나온 경로에 대한 정보를 이용하였다. 지금까지 지나온 경로의 평균 경로 비용을 계산하여 이용함으로써, 직선 길이가 아닌 지금까지 지나온 경로의 정보를 이용할 수 있었고, 지나온 경로의 정보와 앞으로 탐색할 경로에 대한 애매한 정보들(도로의 속도, 날씨, 주행시간대)을 퍼지를 이용하여 계산하였다. 퍼지를 이용하여 도로의 애매한 정보들을 실시간으로 활용할 수 있는 알고리즘을 제안하고 제안한 알고리즘의 타당성을 실험을 통하여 검증하였다.

Study on the fast nearest-neighbor searching classifier using distance approximation (거리 근사를 이용하는 고속 최근 이웃 탐색 분류기에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we propose a new nearest-neighbor classifier with reduced computational complexity in search process. In the proposed classifier, the classes are divided into two sets: reference and non-reference sets. It reduces computational requriement by approximating the distance between the input and a class iwth the information of distances among the calsses. It calculates only the distance between the input and the reference classes. We convert a given classifier into RCC (reduced computational complexity but smal lincrease in misclassification probability of its corresponding RCC classifier. We designed RCC classifiers for the recognition of digits from the NIST database. We obtained an RCC classifier with 60% reduction in the computational complexity with the cost of 0.5% increase in misclassification probability.
