  • This study is to make pH 9 reduction by adding NaOH to 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11% solution of thioglycollic acid, cysteine, cysteamin, to add it on helically winded natural hair and colored hair and leave them for 20, 40, 60 minutes, to add $NaBrO_3$ oxidant for 15 minutes and to compare and analyze the wave form. This study showed the results of permanent using thioglycollic acid, cysteine, cysteamin. In the permanent wave form according to the kind of reductant, concentration, and processing time, there were a little difference between thioglycollic acid and cysteine. But cysteamine not only showed apparent difference but also formed strong and elastic wave. The permanent wave is affected by the diagonosis of hair, the choice of permanent solution and the processing time. Therefore the scientific diagonosis of hair is to be considered first of all. By choosing the kind of solution, the concentration and the processing time according to the results of hair diagonosis and wave form, we can prevent the lengthening and damage of hair.

  • Growing needs of reducing energy consumption and enhancing creative thinking brought expanding of men's business wear market into more trendy and casual sector. As fashion trend of men's business wear has changes to casual jackets, there is need to study for the inner structure of casual jacket. The inner structure of casual jackets are different from conventional tailored jackets so that they can provide more comforts, functionality and characteristic style. The purpose of this study is to find out how the inner structure of casual jackets are made up by comparing jackets of various brands. In order to categorize the construction methods, where, how and what kind of lining, interlining, sleeve heads and shoulder pads are applied were studied. Although there are considerable varieties in making up methods, it could be concluded that casual jackets have lighter and less time and labour consuming inner structure, i.e. partial linings, fusible inter-linings, ready made sleeve heads and shoulder pads.

The staffs of Yuhan-Kimberly and doctors, nurses and personnel of four general hospitals in Seoul were interviewed individually in order to collect useful data of disposable clothes. Also the samples of disposable medical clothes were examined. The materials, designs, size of potential market and actual consumption conditions of disposable medical clothes were found out. New disposable medical clothes were made after having considered all the aspects examined above. Two kind of medical gowns and caps, a kind of medical apron, three kinds of patient robes and a kind of patient cap were made of Korean traditional paper with specific functions instead of nonwoven polypropylene fabric.

  • This study aims to find implications for the introduction and practice of ESG by domestic fashion companies by examining the core ESG topics and strategies of Samsung C&T Fashion Division, Kolon FnC, F&F holdings, and Fila. ESG management analysis examined the importance of the criticality evaluation process, critical issues, and implementation strategies for each key topic based on the company's 2021 ESG sustainable management report, and analyzed the relationship with UN SDGs and the GRI. The analysis results are as follows: As for KCGS' ESG rating, Samsung C&T's fashion division, Kolon FnC, and Fila Holdings were rated A, while F&F Holdings was rated B+. The major issues derived from ESG's criticality assessment are environmental issues related to Samsung C&T's fashion division. Kolon FnC was found to have focused on the social sector and F&F Holdings focused on governance structure. After examining the correlation between the ESG core strategies of the investigated fashion companies and the 17 SDGs, the common areas were identified as quality employment, sustainable production and consumption, and climate changes and response. Correlation with the GRI Standards 2021 Index, (GRI 1, GRI 11, and GRI 12 created in 2021) was not reflected. In the future, it will be necessary to have a transparent governance structure that meets global standards, sets measurable goals, and continuously manages them. Other companies should also recognize ESG management processes that embrace various stakeholders and strengthens win-win cooperation to manage risks, and establish mid- to long-term response strategies.

This study is to research detailed modifiable fashion styling methods in history and to give ideas to people such as fashion professionals who are interested in fashion styling so that they can create modifiable fashion styling easily in fashion fields. The characteristics of modifiable fashion styling methods from ancient to middle ages are as follows. The first modifiable styling method is to expose the knots on the surface of the garments, and the knots were mainly located on the upper part of the body. The second method is a wrapping type of the modifiable styling method, which shows a lot of variant simple shapes of cloths. This method helped develop many wrapping methods over time. The third way is the fixed type of the modifiable styling method, and it uses accessories such as fibulae, belts to fix cloths, to create many different styles. The accessories are located on around either the neck or waist. The fourth method is the composite type of the modifiable styling methods mentioned above. This styling method is adapted in robe type clothes which makes the clothes look full of beautiful drapery. This study suggests that simple shapes of cloths can create enormous amount of styling which can be easily adapted and created nowadays.

  • This study aims to analyze the changes in the mechanical properties of woven fabrics(cotton, linen, wool, silk, and polyester) by bonding fusible interlinings with varying deniers(10D, 20D, and 30D) for a 3D virtual try-on system(one that a user to try garments through screens using Avatar) developed over the last decade. We experimented with four mechanical properties and thicknesses of twenty-three specimens of interlining bonded fabrics including face fabrics and interlinings by using the KES-FB-AUTO system. The results showed that the tensile property increased(LT and RT increased and WT decreased) as the denier of the interlining increased; however, the change was slight. In contrast, the bending and shear properties increased significantly as the denier of the interlining increased on both the warp and the weft. This showed evidence that the interlining gives the fabrics size stability. The compression property was slight changed as the tensile property varies depending on the fibers and the denier of interlining. As expected, the thickness increased by bonding the interlining as the denier of interlining increased. From these results, we conclude that 3D users need to reflect these changes of woven fabrics by bonding interlinings when they try screen fittings to accurately express the fabric reality of manufactured garment.

  • This research was designed to compare the subjective evaluation of texture image and preference between offline and online by structural characteristics of women' jacket fabrics for spring and summer. 78 participants evaluated the sensibility image and preference of various fabrics. The data were analysed by factor analysis, t-test, Pearson's productive correlation, regression, and multi dimensional scale. The results were as follows: Sensibility image factors of women' jacket fabrics were 'classic' 'sophisticated' 'natural' 'characteristic' and 'practical'. Between offline and online, sensibility images showed no differences. In sensibility images, 'classic'-'sophisticated', 'natural'-'practical', and 'practical'-'characteristic' images showed significant correlation. By analyzing the contribution of fabric structure on sensibility images, density affected on the 'classic' image offline and online. By the results of regression analysis, thickness, density and weave affected on the tactile preference. In sensibility images, 'classic', 'sophisticated' 'characteristic' images were the influencing factor. 'Sophisticated', 'natural', 'characteristic' and 'practical' images affected on the purchase preference.

  • Chitosan and CA/BTCA were employed in order to induce crosslinking in the fiber for the improvement of wrinkle recovery of the cotton fabrics and the endowment of anti-microbial functions to the fabric. The treated fabrics were dyed by using reactive dyestuff and their dyeing behaviors were investigated. As a result, the fabric treated with chitosan only exhibited more dye-uptake amount than the untreated fabric, and the treated and untreated fabrics together showed excellent light-fastness and wash-fastness. In the cases that CA or BTCA was added to the chitosan, the CA-treated showed better dye-uptake and dyeing properties as light-fastness than the BTCA-treated. In conclusion, it is possible to maintain the dye-uptake level at reduced treatment cost when the CA is employed as a substitute cross-linking agent for BTCA.
