어머니의 정서표현성과 부정적 정서표현에 대한 반응이 아동의 정서지능에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Mother's Emotional Expressiveness and Reaction to Child Negative Emotions on Child Emotional Intelligence)

  • This study examines child emotional intelligence in relation to mother's emotional expressiveness and reaction to child negative emotions. A sample of 352 children and mothers from 4 elementary schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi participated in the study. Child emotional intelligence and mother's reaction to child negative emotions were evaluated by child-report, and mother's emotional expressiveness was assessed by mother-report. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, two-way analysis of variances, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analyses. The findings were as follows. First, mothers of boys showed more oversensitive-reaction to child negative emotions than mothers of girls. Mothers of 6th-graders showed more emotion-minimizin-greaction to child negative emotions than mothers of 5th-graders. Second, girls showed a higher level of overall emotional intelligence than boys. Girls showed a higher level of emotion expression and emotion regulation than boys. The 5th-graders showed higher level of emotion expression than 6th-graders; however, 6th graders showed a higher level of emotion perception than 5th-graders. Third, more emotion-coaching-reaction and less oversensitive-reaction by mothers predicted a better emotional intelligence of children. A mother's appropriate emotional socialization behaviors associated with child emotional intelligence were discussed.

유아의 개인 및 부모특성과 정서이해와 정서조절간의 관계 (The Relation between Preschoolers' Individual and Parents' Characteristics and Preschoolers' Emotional Understanding and Regulation)

  • This study investigated the relation between preschoolers' individual and parents 'characteristics and preschoolers' emotional understanding and regulation. Subjects were 2004 and 5-year-old children and their parents. Interview tasks were used as research instruments used to measure preschoolers 'emotional understanding and regulation. Preschoolers' temperament and parents characteristics were measured by questionnaires based on several previous studies. The results revealed that preschooler's emotional understanding and regulation were significantlv different according to mothers' attitude style, emotional expressiveness, and attitude toward children's emotional expressiveness. The results are consistent with recent research showing that parents emotional socialization may be important for preschoolers' emotional understanding and regulation.

빈곤층 아동의 또래역량 (The Peer Competence of Children in Poverty)

  • The purpose of this study was to observe differences in peer competence by children's personality and to investigate the relationship between peer competence and characteristics of children from poor families. The subjects were 79 parents and their 4- to 6-year-old children at a kindergarten in Seoul. The instruments were Iannotti's facial drawings cards, vignettes, "roster and rating" the Family Environment Scale (FES) and the Family Expressiveness Questionnaire (FEQ). The main results of this study were that girls from poor families had higher levels of peer competence than boys. There was a significant correlation between the peer competence of the children in poverty and family characteristics. The children's gender, knowledge of emotion, and mother's negatively dominant conduct were the factors that indicated children's behavior in peer competence. Family conflict and mother's emotional conduct did not relate to children's knowledge of emotion.

주의력결핍 ${\cdot}$ 과잉운동장애의 가정환경에 대한 연구 (FAMILY ENVIRONMENT OF ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER)

  • 저자들은 주의력결핍 ${\cdot}$ 과잉운동장애의 가정환경을 알아보기 위하여, 동반된 정신과적 질환이 없는 pure ADHD군, 동반된 정신과적 질환이 있는 comorbid ADHD군 및 대조군에 한국형 가정환경 척도를 사용하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1) 주의력결핍 ${\cdot}$ 과잉운동장애군의 어머니가 시행한 가정환경척도 부분별 소척도에서 대조군에 비해 표현력 소척도, 성취지향성 소척도 및 조직화 소척도에서 통계적으로 유의하게 낮았다 사후검증결과 표현력 소척도, 도덕적-종교적 강조 소척도 및 조직화 소척도에서 pure ADHD군 및 comorbid ADHD군이 대조군에 비해 의미있게 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 2) 아버지가 시행한 가정환경척도에서는 주의력결핍 ${\cdot}$ 과잉운동장애군과 대조군사이에 조직화 소척도만이 가정환경척도의 부분별 소척도에서 유의하게 낮았고, 사후검증에서는 대조군에 비해 comorbid ADHD군이 조직화 소척도가 낮았다. 3) pure ADHD군과 comorbid ADHD군 사이에는 가정환경의 차이가 없었다. 본 연구에서는 대조군에 비해 주의력결핍 ${\cdot}$ 과잉운동장애아의 부모 모두가 그들의 가정에서 조직화의 정도가 떨어진다고 인식하나 ADHD환아의 어머니는 아버지보다 가정환경중 표현력, 성취지향성, 도덕적-종교적 강조의 측면이 떨어진다고 인식하고 있다는 것을 알 수 있다 향후 이러한 주의력결핍 ${\cdot}$ 과잉운동장애아의 가족내의 특성이 원인으로 작용하는지, 아니면 환아의 주의력 결핍과 과잉운동에 대한 결과로 이러한 가정환경이 나타나는 것인지에 대한 체계적인 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

비행 청소년 발생과 가족환경과의 상관관계 연구 -일반가정과 비행청소년 가정을 중심으로- (An Analysis of the Relationship between Family Incongruence about Family Environment and Occurrence of Juvenile Delinquency)

  • This study was concerned with the investigation of the relationship between the degree of family incongruence about family environment and the occurrence of juvenile delinquency using Family Environmental Scale (F.E.S) designed by Rudolf Moos. The study employed the control group design using the interview and questionnaire through home visiting. The control group sample consisted of 44 families from a middle socioeconomic S Dong community setting and the experimental group sample consisted of 30 families of juve nile from Juvenile Training School in Seoul, Total sample size was 321. Data for this study was collected over a period of three months from the end of Nov. 1982 to the beginning of Feb. 1983, after pretest. To analize the data, t-test was used. The result of this study was as follows; 1. The experimental groups' incongruence score was 18.8598 as compared to the control groups' score of 14.8598. The differences were statistically significant at .001 level, and the hygothesis was supported. 2. The experimental group had higher incongruence scores as compared to the control group of three dimensions, the differences were statistically significant at .05 level. The experimental group had higher incongruence scores than the control group on 6 subscales, namely, cohesion, expressiveness, conflict, achievement orientation, moral-religious emphasis and organization. The differences were statistically significant at. 05 level.

한국 고등학생들의 부모형태별 자살생각 영향요인 분석 (Study of Factors Influencing Suicidal Ideation Among Korean Adolescents According to Parental Type)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between suicidal ideation among Korean adolescents and factors such as family conflict, cohesion, organization of family activities, expressiveness, independence, achievement orientation, depression, stress, and support of friends and teachers, according to the individual student's parental type. The study sample consisted of 1908 high school students in the 11th grade from the city of Inchon. The results showed that in both males and females, suicidal ideation was greater in students from single-parent families than two natural-parent families and greater in step-parent families than in single-parent families. As an exploratory study, the analysis of factors influencing suicidal ideation according to parental type showed that the study model accounted for 33.6% for students from two natural-parent families, 42.8% for students from single-parent families and 84.5% for students from step-parent families, of the variance in suicidal ideation. This indicates that the study model is more appropriate for application to students from single-parent and step-parent families. In addition, the study shows that the factors of influence and the way these factors make an influence tended to differ according to parental type. This indicates that in terms of predicting suicidal ideation, it is more effective to study students according to parental type than as a whole. It also indicates that it is ineffective to take the same approach in dealing with suicidal ideation for students with different parental types.

마리오 보타의 주택 특성에 관한 고찰 (An investigation on the Characteristics of Housing Projects by Mario Botta)

  • This study investigates the characteristics of Mario Botta's single-family houses. Eight of his housing project which are deemed important in the historical development of housing he been selected for the purpose their elevations plans loggie and interiors are analyzed and evaluated. Through this study the followings are realized ; $\circled1$ The rationality of his interior space comes from Le Corbusier's housing projects. $\circled2 His expression of elevations has developed from Louis. I. Kahn's language and Carlo Scarpa's technique. $\circled3$ The rationality of Corbusier's houses and expressiveness of Kahn's and scarpa's projects together led to his functional solution of internal program an and the creative external images of his own. $\circled4$ The originality of this house results from his creative vision and ability to reinterpret the existing expression and principles in the light of time and space.

  • Cable-stayed structures provide a lot of possibilities toward the development of innovative structural forms regarding their expressiveness and uniqueness. Such cable-stayed structures, as form-active structures, can obtain a family of alternatives by changing parameters for defining geometric shapes. The concept of graphic statics is utilized to explain the relationship between the load path and structural forms because the load path of cable structures has something to do with their structural geometry. Moreover, this structural geometry has a dominant effect on both structural efficiency and structural elegancy. The proposed design method in this study will help designers conceive innovative structural forms considering structural safety, material efficiency, and structural art altogether.

도시.농촌 지역 초등학생의 가족환경, 건강행위 및 건강상태에 관한 비교 (Comparision of Family Environment, Health Behavior and Health State of Elementary Students in Urban and Rural Areas)

  • This research intends to survey family environment, health behavior and health status of the students in urban-rural elementary schools and analyze those factors comparatively, and use the result as basic material for school health teacher to teach health education in connection with family and regional areas. It also intends to improve a pupil's self-abilitiy in health care. The subjects involve 2,774 students of urban elementary schools and 583 student in rural ones, who were selected by means of a multi -stage probability sampling. Using the questionnaire and school documents, we collected data on family environment, health behavior and health status for 19 days. Feb. 2nd 1998 through Feb. 20th 1998. The R -form of Family Environment Scale (Moos, 1974) was used in the analysis of family environment(Cronbach's Alpha =0.80). Questionnaires of Health Behavior in School-aged children used by the WHO in Europe(Aaro et al., 1986) and the ones developed by the Health Promotion Committee of the Western Pacific(WHO, 1995)(adapted by long Young-suk and Moon Young-hee(1996)) were used in the analysis of health behavior, as well documents on absences due to sickness, school health room-visits, levels of physical strength, height, weight and degree of obesity were used to determine health status. In next step, We used them with an $X^2$-test, t-test, Odds Ratio, and a 95% Confidence Interval. 1. In two dimensions of three, family-relationship (t=3.41, p=0.001) and system -maintenances(t= 2.41, p=0.0l6) the mean score of urban children were significantly higher than those of rural ones. In the personal development dimension however, there was little significant difference. Assorting family environment into 10 sub-fields and analyzing them, we recognized that urban children were superior to rural children in the sub-fields of expressiveness (t =3.47, p=0.001), conflict (t=0.48, p=0.001), active-recreational orientation (t = 1.97, p=0.049) and organization (t=4.33, p=0.000). 2. Referring to the Odds Ratios of urban-rural children's health behaviors, urban children set up more desirable behavior than rural children wear ing safety belts (Odds Ratio =0.32, p=0.000), washing hands after meals(Odds Ratio = 0.43, p= 0.000), washing hands after excreting (Odds Ratio = 0.39, p=O.OOO), washing hands after coming - home ( Odds Ratio = 0.75, p = 0.003), brushing teeth before sleeping(Odds Ratio =0.45, p=0.000), brushing teeth more than once a day (Odds Ratio =0.73, p=0.0l2), drinking boiled water (Odds Ratio = 0.49, p=0.000), collecting garbage at home(Odds Ratio=0.31, p=0.000) and in the school(Odds Ratio =0. 67, p=0.000). All these led to significant differences. As to taking milk(Odds Ratio = 1.50, p=0.000), taking care of eyesight(Odds Ratio=1.41, p=0.001) and getting physical exercise in(Odds Ratio = 1.33, p=0.0l9) and outside the school(Odds Ratio = 1.32, p=0.005), rural children had more desirable behavior which also revealed a significant difference. There was little significant difference in smoking, but the smoking rate of rural children(5.5%) was larger than that of urban children(3.9%). 3. Health status was analyzed in terms of absences, school health room-visits, levels of physical strength, and the degree of obesity, height and weight. Considering Odds Ratios of the health status of urban-rural children, the health status of rural children was significantly better than that of the urban ones in the level of physical strength(t=1.51, p=0.000) and the degree of obesity(t=1.84, p=0.000). The mean height of urban children ($150.4{\pm}7.5cm$) is taller than that of their counterparts($149.5{\pm}7.9$), which revealed a significant difference (t =2.47, p=0.0l4). The mean weight of urban children($42.9{\pm}8.6kg$) is larger than that of their counterparts($41.8{\pm}9.0kg$), which was also a significant difference(t=2.81, p=0.005). Considering the results above, we can recognize that there are significant differences in family environment, health behavior, and health status in urban-rural children. These results also suggestion ideas for health education. What we would suggest for the health program of elementary schools is that school health teachers should play an active role in promoting the need and importance of health education, develop the appropriate programs which correspond to the regional characteristics, and incorporate them into schools to improve children's ability to manage their own health management.

이동전화와 인간 커뮤니케이션의 확장 (Mobile Phone and Extension of Human Communication)

  • 이 연구는 맥루한의 '인간 확장' 개념으로부터 출발해, 이동전화가 매개하고 있는 인간 커뮤니케이션 확장 개념이 어떤 차원들로 구성되어 있는지를 논증해보고, 이들 각 차원의 상호작용에 의한 구체적인 이동전화 이용행태와 사회적 관계의 확장의 양상을 실증적 자료를 바탕으로 검증하고자 했다. '이동성'과 '개별성'이라는 이동전화의 매체적 특성은 인간 커뮤니케이션의 '기능 확장'과 '자아 확장'이라는 두 개의 차원 흑은 영역을 견인하고 있으며, 이는 이동전화의 도구적 이용동기와 표현적 이용동기에 각각 조응하고 있음을 밝혀 보았다. 나아가 설문조사방법을 통해 수집된 자료를 분석한 결과, 이용동기의 두 차원의 상호작용 결과, 이동전화 이용자들의 이용행태와 사회적 관계의 확장은 다양한 양상으로 전개되는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 이동전화가 견인하고 있는 인간 커뮤니케이션의 확장은 일률적인 내용과 방향으로 전개되는 것이 아니라, 확장 개념의 두 차원이 상호작용함으로써 불균등한 양상으로 진행되는 것을 알 수 있었다.
